seeing as 2010s to-be-released games are for quite a few people (not evreybody i know) going to come to a close as September ends, what games are you looking forward to next year? (or that there is a good chance will come next year)

as for me...

-The Last Guardian (as many of you would know)
-Kingdom Hearts 3D
-Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
-Legend of Zelda: The Skyward Sword
-Kingdom Hearts RE:Coded
-Animal Crossing (on the 3DS) (yah yah, bash it all you want)
-Okamiden
-Pokemon Black/White
-Batman Arkham Asylum 2

and there may be others that i can't think of at the moment, but needless, to say I'm pretty excited for next year

EDIT:
-Portal 2
-Kid Icarus: Uprising

-Gears 3
-Crysis 2
-Bulletstorm
-Rage

Best fucking year of gaming ever for me. I'm probably missing some more. I also expect Id to finally release some info about Doom 4 next year since they failed on their promise of showing it at QuakeCon this year.

Crysis 2, Dirt 3, Grid 2, Portal 2, and whatever comes from Sonic 20th anniversary (if it is any good).
This year I still have a few games I'm really interested, F1 2010, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Sonic Colors, and maybe Sonic 4 Episode 1, that is, depending on how SEGA fixes it.
Also, I'm still wondering if there will be some Phantasy Star related announcement other than PSPo2 Infinity on TGS, or until PSO 10th anniversary...

Games I'm looking forward to:

FF14 for PS3
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Pokemon Black/White
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

Little Big Planet 2 is another big one, but it's supposed to be out in November...

Probably some other ones, but that's all I can think of for now.

The new Hitman game is the main highlight for me next year. Crysis 2 perhaps I preferred the first up to the part without all the aliens, in my opinion it just ruined the game. Sure they looked cool, even if they did hark back to tripods from War of the Worlds and the final boss was very visually impressive. But this second one being based around a full scale alien invasion doesn't seem so appeaing, also the fact its going onto consoles too means it might not have as much time and dedication spent on the Direct X 11 features for the PC version grumble grumble. Also I wonder about the free-roaming feeling compared to the original. Still we shall see :o

Oh and possibly a new oblivion? Although rumours abound that it might be MMORPG which wouldn't be fun as no huge modding community and it might loose a lot of previous fans??

I've been waiting for a few years now for at least an announcement of The Elder Scrolls V. As for the whole "MMO rumor", I really hope it's not true. I've always used Bethesda's RPGs (Elder Scrolls & Fallout) as kind of an "escape" from multiplayer games. I think an Elder Scrolls MMO would ruin the classic "Elder Scrolls experience" in the long run.

I'd obviously still purchase the game, but I wouldn't be as happy with it. Regarding a 2011 release of the next Elder Scrolls game, I highly doubt it. Will we see an announcement for it in 2011? Possibly. Hopefully.

Yeah same, they made Eldar Scrolls to be one of the best single player games imaginable so hopefully it wont turn out to be an MMORPG plus loosing the modding element would be such a shame (even though 60% of it is soft core porn and skimpy outfits >< )

Hopefully the new fallout will allow PC gamers to mod that too as the trailers graphics don't look on par to the fully modded original Fallout 3 mwuhahaha

I played GT3 at this PS3 marketing lorry which came to work last week. Tried the 3D version it was good made me feel very sick afterwards though lol but it was nice enough, the lack of damage and crash phsyics really is a huge let down, acceptable on Ps1 GT and maybe PS2 but it's just far too unrealistic for the "ultimate driving simiulator" when you can crash into a wall at 100+mph and just drive away as if nothing happened.

Dead Space 2
Portal 2
Alice 2
Atelier Totori (hopefully announced for NA)
New Uncharted (most likely)

Maybe:
Rage (cause it not military-war-FPS-clone-#100 and looks awesome)
Arkham City

Sep 1, 2010, 02:37 PM
Portal 2
Mortal Kombat
Marvel vs Capcom 3
Diablo III (no release yet but do want)
Guild Wars 2 (I think this is 2011?) - Actually more interested in this than Diablo III, haha

End of this year is worse for me... Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition and Rock Band 3 with a keyboard are going to hurt the wallet, especially since I need to grab a PS3 first for GT

Bethesda usually announce their major games in October. There was also a hint of their next game using the same shit Gamebryo engine that is used for Oblivion and Fallout 3. I hope that's not true.

Elder Scrolls 5 had better not be an MMO, that could kill the game enitirely, these games are pretty much optimal for 1 player and possibly just having a few friends run around the same world, but MMO? I really hope not.

Hmm iunno if the engine was that poor? bump up the graphics on max on oblivion looks rather tasty on a large resolution. Releasing the software for modders on PC was a godsend too, as Quarl who completely re-textured oblivion and parts of Fallout is a genius and Bethesda should employ him, I mean such dedication to improve the visuals is crazy, and not for money? I'd say the texture quality rivals that of Crysis, probably exceeds it, sure it makes most PC's cry but just how much dedication this person or persons had to re-texture pretty much a whole game.

I mean looking at New Vegas videos it doesn't look anything on par with heavily modded Fallout 3, still I played both titles to death so I do need a new, none MMO rpg like New Vegas soon, lucky it's coming out next month :D hopefully with the game software in future release to mod as I hear, like Fallout 3 the game ends when the main quest does and that was soon changed with a simple mod...I guess they're making way for a multitude of expansion packs like the previous Fallout : /

Yeah. I would rather Elder Scrolls (in the main series) now stay as single-player experiences. In Elder Scrolls, the feeling is that you're the lone hero ready to take on and change the world on your own. And eventually the kind of effect you have on the world is astounding, and all your own.

MMOs take away from your individual ability to affect the world. Instead, (at best) the world changes as a compromise between the actions of thousands of individuals. It makes your personal involvement seem kind of petty. But in stuff like Oblivion: Shivering Isles, I was to become something I have never thought possible for a player in the Elder Scrolls mythos. Epic, Legendary, and Shocking could only be possible words for what happens by the end of that. It's all of those. It's a mixed feeling of "Awesome!!!" and "Why me of all people?!!" And this kind of personal setup is something no MMO has ever done, nor would I ever see them do it.

There just isn't enough planes of existence to be able to introduce such a thing to so many people. Most people playing it, if they even did it as right as they could, would never beable to obtain such goals. So doing it right, and giving everybody that personal accomplishment contradicts each other in terms of an MMO, so it can't happen.

Very true, I notice you always write your posts very eloquently I might add :) Eldar Scrolls always has excelled at making the most engrossing and engaging single player games. I think the classic fantasy setting too, it adds to that magic too. Something the new Fallout lacked I feel. The setting of the Fallout series has always been a very eerie dystopian one, but as you say Oblivion allows you to change a world forever, whereas Fallout mimicks this, changing an already destroyed world didn't seem to have such an appeal, plus Fallout 3 was quite a short game by comparisson. I hope the time spent on making the new Eldar Scrolls pays off with another fine, and very long (by today's standards) rpg, as most these days rely on pretty graphics and a lack of content :(

I did love Stalker though, many relate it to Fallout kinda setting but in my view Stalker is more atmospheric. Although all 3 titles have been very similar in content :P Anyways I digress we're discussing new releases. What about I Am Alive? The Trailer looks interesting...I forget but my friend said the intro was taken directly from a movie and showed me the specific scene and I agree it's near identical. The part where he's on his phone then sees the skyscrapers collpasing. Still it didn't give much clue as to what sort of game it might be? :o

Marvel vs. Capcom 3
The Mortal Kombat
Batman: Arkham City
King of Fighters 13 (borrowing/renting first)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

And knowing Capcom, they'll probably release a GOTY edition of Super Street Fighter 4 for the 360 and PS3, which will include the arcade exclusive characters that will be announced at TGS later this year. Of course, I'll be the idiot and buy it :disapprove:

OMFG, you have no idea how happy I am that DNF is being released, and on the 360.

Sep 4, 2010, 02:01 PM
The fact that the development of said game is actually truly finished is a huge shock to my system. I honestly thought DNF was canned and earned the prize of the *other meaning of the acronym* "Did Not Finish." Being that it has taken this long to finish, I will not have my hopes up that this will be anything other than a run of the mill shooter; it's a major milestone that any publisher can come back and say that the game is done and that it's getting the final setup for a release next year. Not to mention actual gameplay footage. So yeah, news going from being dead to being finished in an instant truly hit me like a Ninja out of the dark.

Play DN3D on the XBL marketplace and the N64 version. The N64 version was heavily modified to take out the strippers and that shit, but there was also some new areas added to the default levels and new levels not in any other version.
