I'm sorry, but it's getting kind of repetitive, and I absolutely need some reasons to keep playing PSO. I love the game and I am amazed that it's come to this, but I am just so sick of NOT finding rares after hunting for them for hours, NOT finding those rare enemies, even with the telepipe trick, EVER. Just please give me some reasons to keep playing, ok?

Well, if you're using a high level character, I can see why you're getting bored of the game. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif I've been switching between 4 characters for months now, and I'm still having a blast.

Here're a few things I do to keep myself hooked:

-AVOID high leveling. When I get to around Lv125, leveling that character becomes LOW priority and I usually stop leveling that character completely. ZZZZZZZZZ

-Variety of characters. I have a FOmar, RAmarl, HUcaseal and FOnewearl, so I always have a choice of greatly varying characters.

-Variety of section IDs. This is very important. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif Between Skyly, Bluefull, Greenill and Redria, there are a TON of rares accessable to me. It's always a lot of fun for me to create a brand new character, as well.

-C mode! For the past week, that's pretty much ALL I've been doing as far as real playing. It's the most fun I'll ever have on PSO. Period.

-Rare hunting! Yeah, it takes a LOT of patience, but keep it up and you'll strike gold. Just earlier I was going Nar hunting with my Skyly in VH, and lo and behold, he ran into a Nar before I even piped! God/HP. Later, I find a room with two lilies, pipe for maybe 10 minutes, BAM! Nar Lily, God/HP.
Other times, I'll pipe for an hour and a half before I find a rare monster. Time consuming and often frustrating, but man, is it worth it...

-Trading. It's certainly not for everyone, and you're BOUND to get a few dupes this way, but trading can be quite fun on PSO.

-Chatting, which requires a keyboard unless you're very, very patient... unlike me. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_hamster.gif Often times there's an interesting conversation going on in Anteres 8 for example.

And if those don't work, well... time for a little break. Works for me. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey, I appreciate your suggestion Mr. Samurai.
I do have a high level character (137 HUnewarl) and it's getting quite boring with her, basically weak attack kills EVERYTHING http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif. But I am going to start a force, as I have never tried one before, thanks again.

Go for C-Mode; it's much more interesting that leveling up or rare hunting.

Battle! It doesnt get repetitive, cause you are fighting real people, not mindless boomas.

Hmm, may just be me. But high leveling does nothing to my interest in the game. What keeps me playing it, is joining games period. Teamwork is apart of me, thats why I know I'll never stop. Perhaps you should go for this too, as well as the suggestions mentioned in the above posts. . .

I go through phases where I play PSO less than normal, and then other times when I play it a lot. I'd rather do that then get burned out on the game. As for rare hunting, I never actually look for a specific rare. I hope sometimes to find one, but I don't expect to find one and when I do get one it's nice. And I have four characters to choose from to play, so like Samurai was talking about, that can help spice things up as well http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

That might explain it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif I think you'll be surprised at how fun it is to start another character (assuming you haven't done so before). You can even support that character with your higher level guy by giving the new one items and meseta using offline multiplayer.

It's sometimes hard to get adjusted to the new character. I know it was for me, I was not used to playing as a Hunter whatsoever. Whenever I got hit once I would be like "Oh no! I've gotta heal!" Even if it only took off 1/4 of my HP http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Try different weapons, thats usually fun. Or play some EpII.
