Since 'merchandise news' always seems to go here...

Kotaku has just announced/reported on a 30 dollar Elenor Camuel RAcaseal figure that's GREAT! It is set to go on sale in May, according to their post. It seems really super articulated for something in the 30 range. Hopefully she isn't super tiny or anything. Seems fairly game-accurate too. I think I'll get this. Pose-able figures always had more appeal to me than static minifigs.

This is the link to see their photos:

Hopefully someone posts again when it finally does go on sale. I wonder if it's some sort of pso2 hype or something? It's also really great to see something mainstream like that picking up on PSO stuff. I hope it does real well and we see other chars too in this style!

So, what - that's about five inches tall? I guess that's a little pricey, but it is a collector's item.

It's neat to have an Elenor toy, but I've always wished that games with customizable characters would release customizable toylines. I'd definitely pay a premium to be able to select the body and armor parts for a HUmar figure to create a figure of my character.

The closest I've seen to that was the Halo 3 figures, but they didn't really sell parts - you had to buy figures with completed armor sets to mix and match.

One thing that is really nice. If you like that sort of thing, is that it's really easy to get parts to make customized Plushies. Sure, they're a little less descriptive, but you can definitely add in enough specifics to them to represent your character. Been thinking about doing that for my beast character.

Still. Very nice. Elenor was definitely a classic PSO caseal. The very one that instructs you about mags.

Sweet! I've waited about 7 years for this figure to FINALLY be mass produced for fans?!
I actually have a copy of the original resin kit from 2003. And it really IS tiny, but super detailed + articulated.

This plastic model kit version seems to be blow up a bit than the original (maybe the same scale as the figma line?). So perhaps that'll mean she'll be in more proportion to alot of accessories from other MMS or Figma lines.

BTW, I'm not sure if Kotaku mentioned this, but this Elenor is a Model Kit, NOT a preassembled toy! So that means you gotta have the skills and tools to build her yourself. You may think it's a lot of work. But she really does comes in too many parts for a factory to pre-assemble her for mass production. Plus this way, it's actually easier to customize your RAcaseal to whatever hair/weapon/color style you want (with a little sculpting & know how).

Hopefully, that'll mean they'll also release APSY's HUcast in the future as well!

Pre-ordered.

I played the game long enough, about time I could (reliably) get hold of something like this. Shame it isn't a generic RAcaseal kit (include a few extra heads?), but it looks pretty nice. I've got experience with plastic kits, so that's no issue at all.

Wish there was a decent HUnewearl figure around

This figure was actually on display at last year's Tokyo Game Show.

Really? Then we gotta keep an eye out for this year and check if the Hucast will come along as well.
*fingers crossed*

I hope they change their minds and include alternate head options. That, or release an add-on with all the missing optional parts.
We know he made them.

Fortunately I have one of the weapons pack. But with Elenor being slightly larger, her guns & blades are gonna be out of scale from these original sets.
Hmmmm....

OMG. Just found a pic from Tokyo Game Show and they had a comparison shot. Elenor looks TALLER than 5" to me.
Was the original 3.5" or so? I guess I have to check back at home....

Elenor model packaging sample:
Here, you can get a preview on the contents of the upcoming model that's to be shipped out later this month. And get a sense of the parts that needs to be assembled.

Also, they're releasing an alternate RAcaseal model later (to be announced).
This alternate looks to have an alternate head and black colors.

Come on! Just bring out the HUcast model already! :P
I suppose they're waiting to see how well the Racaseal will sell before concidering placing that HUcast up for mass production.

Well, mine arrived today. The model's coloured plastic, so the base colours for Elenor are already there (body is pink plastic and so on). However, details aren't painted so if you want it to look 100%, you need to paint. For example, all of the weapons barring the saber are white plastic, so you'd need to paint the guns. You also get decals for the Section ID badge (every Section ID included). The kit is a lot of pieces, and you'll need some basic modeling equipment. I collected tabletop wargames miniatures, so I had everything already, but you'll need:
- Plastic cutters (for cutting pieces off the sprue)
- Craft knife (for trimming off excess plastic)
- Plastic glue (95% of the model clips together, but a couple pieces require glue, and some benefit from it. I found that the torso should be glued- otherwise the arms are clipped on so tight that when you move them it tears the torso apart. Glue the torso together and it'll solve this.

For me, the model was very easy to assemble, but I have prior experience with model kits. For someone new to them, it may be a little complicated in places, but the instruction manual is good (almost entirely images, so don't worry if you don't know Japanese).

Here's a couple of pics (phone camera, sorry!) :

Sorry for the terrible quality, I figured any would be better than nothing

In the box you get enough parts to make Elenor (no other variant heads or anything), 2 sabers (one normal, one is flared as it it's attacking), a handgun and a shot.

Oh, and finally the model is NOT a carbon copy of RAcaseals from PSO. It's more of an artist's rendition; very similar but with a couple of differences. If you look at the skirt for example, it is designed slightly different from Elenor's in PSO.
