Hi. Um... I'm going to go get this game in a few days, and I wanted to know, what Race:Class combination would be the most like a typical RPG game's rogue-type class? You know? The kind that are the quickest but pretty weak.

Vanguard.

And welcome to PSO-W. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Oh thank you. Would any race work?

That'd depend on the user him or herself.

You could go with Human, since with their Dark Mirage Blast they get an attack speed boost, letting you slice and dice a la Ninja.

Vanguard is right form the perspective of a light combat class, it is:
The most evasive
Specialized in light weapons(1handers are the cheapest point allocation for them)
Second highest ATP(attack power)
Best trap selection

In general though it is really just slightly behind the specialized classes in all of what they do as it is THE hybrid class for this game. Where as in PSP1 we had protranser and acromaster which were a heavy weapon/trap based and light weapon/buffing based class respectively, those 2 have been rolled into vanguard now.

Lot of people don't like vanguard because they feel it is the cheap class(evasion is kinda ridiculous in PSP2) or like other stat specialization and so they use hunter ranger or force. In the end though you can customize all the weapons you want to use anyways, if you really want it you can make a force that runs into combat with a massive sword.

As for race, it only matters to min/max type of people and there are numerous threads that cover that. So play whatever race you like the look of the most.

Tbh i dont think youll stick playing one type of "role" all the way to lvl 200.
Its a cool idea but youll end up finding a kickass rare weapon, changing your whole class build for it and DESTROYING THINGS until a new one comes along . :)

I think a female vanguard would fit the criterion you described. You probably won't be able to dress her like a ninja tho. Maybe some naruto type ninja, but not a ninja gaiden type ninja.

Think anime ninjas.

In other words, lots of skin showing.

The GH420 outfit for women looks like a Gypsy or Kunoichi outfit depending on the colour, the black one looks more ninja-ish.

Yeah, a Vanguard sounds like the way to go. And if you go by the Ninja Gaiden school of ninja-ing, any weapon is fair game as long as it makes things fall down, and as long as your females have maximum size boobs.

Although this applies to only the JP version, there's a set of kunoichi clothes and kunai for sale on the JP PSN. Other than this, you'll need to hunt for the katana type weapons that you get in the endgame rewards.

From the perspective of someone who studied traditional Ninjutsu, you would want a Force, or a Ranger. Not that that's the sort of Ninja you're talking about. There was never a period of time where "Ninja" were called Ninja.

Well there is an armor set for females (don't remember the name it starts with a "y") and the pants look fairly ninja-like.

Yorokutabra, IIRC. Yes, that's a sort or armored ninja or vaguely asian warrior look, for ladies.

For men... Classica is probably your best bet.

Isn't your Clothes and Weapon choice making you a ninja (because Class has nothing to do with it). You could always dress up much like the Metal Gear Solid Cyber-ninja as a cast...

Also, Cards and Swords are probably the weapon-types mostly associated to ninjas (as Cards are throwing blades, and some Swords have Katana-design).

Why would he not care about the character fitting the part...? That's what makes ninjas the most intruiging, is their infamous skills and stuff.

Katanas are perfect, especially Twin Kamui with lv11+ Renga (mostly because it reminds me of Nel's Divine Wrath from SO3) and Renkai, and the Shura-hiken.

Yorokatabra looks ridiculous though, especially the shoes. You really have to get creative, but you will manage to come up with the look you're going for. It takes your unparalleled attention, to really come up something you will be happy with or you can try purchasing the DLC ninja outfit. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that, but you'll get over it. ^^

Btw Vanguard is indeed the fitting class. Bombs + speed boost + balanced skill setup (quick attacks, and technics like a real ninja).
