Grinding

Since JP PSU got the grinding boost, I tried grinding something for the first time during my time in JP PSU just to find out most of my items were greyed out. In fact, all the items in my inventory, except for a Lidra were greyed out. At first I thought they added the rule that you can't grind weapons you bought from other players, but seeing as my Elysion and Caduceus aren't grindable either, while PSUPedia state their stats in grinded stats, I'm not sure anymore.

So can anyone explain to me what the rules are for grinding in JP PSU?
