It's always fun to list your favorite game. O_o

My favotites are:

NES: Zelda
SNES: Zelda
N64: Zelda
DC: Soul Calibur
GC: Metroid Prime (what, Zelda and SC aren't out yet)

I have plans on getting an XBOX this year, but PS2 would eat up too much of my money with all the games I want to play on it. :/

-Chrono Trigger (SNES)
-Final Fantasy 4 (US 2) (SNES)
-Final Fantasy 6 (US 3) (SNES)
-Rez (PS2, DC)
-DDRMAX (domestic PS2, although the Japanese version is every bit as good, if not better)
-Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PSX)
-Frequency (PS2)
-Super Metroid (SNES)
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past (SNES)
-Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)
-Phantasy Star 4 (Genesis)
-Sonic & Knuckles (Genesis)
-Skies of Arcadia (DC)
-Sonic Adventure (DC) (I met SO many people in the SA community way back in the day... MANY of which I'm still in close contact with, and a few that I consider very close friends)
-Jet Set Radio Future (Xbox)
-Splinter Cell (Xbox)
-Panzer Dragoon Orta (Xbox)
-NiGHTS (Saturn)
-Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
-Point Blank (Arcade, PSX)
-Quake 3 Arena (PC)

... Yeah, I'm lazy, I copied and pasted that from the previous thread. :/ And I'm STILL leaving some good stuff out.

If I really had to choose my VERY favorite games though, they'd be Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 2 (FF4). A lot of us can understand why I'd choose CT (it doesn't hurt that it brings back so many fond memories), but for one reason or another, most people think I'm crazy for putting FF2 high above all other FF games. o_O I've picked it up and started yet another game on it the other day, and... man, I haven't been this hooked to an RPG since Skies of Arcadia. I understand now that the reason I'm putting off FFX so much isn't because of my lack of attention span or patience, but because, compared to FF2, it... well, sucks the BIG one, frankly.
FF2 packs the best FF gameplay EVER, IMO. FF7 introduced the "Everyone can hit for 9999 damage!" gameplay style that has screwed the series up the yin yang up to FF10, for the most part.
You see, in FF2, spellcasters did CRAP for damage with physical weapons. Thus, they had to rely on black magic to deal damage, or white magic to heal others, since their attacks were FUTILE. FF2 had something that the series has been lacking for years now: BALANCE. And I mean from start to finish.
Another thing the game has that previous FF games have greatly lacked since FF7: Difficulty! MAN, FF2 was a game that required some real RPG skill! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif
I could go on and on about the little gameplay details, but then this would turn into an all out review, which is exactly what I don't wanna do. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif
FF2 also had, by far, my favorite monster designs, too. Absolutely freaking awesome designs...
In closing, FF2 kicks ass and you're lying to yourself if you believe otherwise.

FFVII(7) first introduced me (and many others) to the RPG genre and IMO has yet to be truely bettered although i am really liking FFVI(6).

aside from FF games however...

-Dynamite Headdy (Genesis/Megadrive)
-NiGHTS (Saturn)

No, we're beyond good taste... We're the RPG elite. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_hamster.gif

http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

And it's true that FF9 had more balanced gameplay, that's one of the reasons I liked it so damn much, I think. But man, I love FF2 to no end. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Although my entire list of games that I love to the highest degree is too long for me to remember, I say of all, the game that I have the most respect for: The Almighty Tetris. Yes, you heard me, tetris.
I offer to let anybody try 'n beat my record of over 7 hours on 1 quarter!(I was on a roll that day!)

If my memory serves me correctly, I had a tray of nachos, and a bottle of coke. I didn't use the bathroom til after the 7 hour tetrithon, for help in that department, I hadn't eaten/drank anything prior to playing the game that day.

I also have been about 7 hours with out eating. Going to the bathroom, yes, but no eating. It was with resident evil (GC). I couldn't stop playing.

Oh yeah, I have a game that I just completed that I love for the story line:

Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (Xbox)

Chrono Trigger was the BEST single player game, EVER.
Phantasy Star 4 following very closely behind. Seiken Densetsu 3 is a not-too-distant third.
