Probably tomorrow.

Yeah sure. This sounds good.

In all honesty, ask again after E3.

Considering that it probably won't have the same release date "for everyone" (meaning, Japan gets it first, and the rest of the world waits 8-12 months, like always), who knows?

2013 and/or 2014, I would think.

Now watch them surprising us and releasing it at the same time worldwide!

....Yeah right...

If they did that, I'm sure they'd increase the number of jaded vets who bought it off the bat, but...

Yeah right.

Not true. PSO and PSU were released in NA merely 1 and 2 months apart from the JP releases respectively. Do your homework.

Must be fun to be naive. While what you say is true, let's look at more recent titles:

Phantasy Star Portable JP release: 07/31/08
Phantasy Star Portable US release: 03/03/09

Phantasy Star Zero JP release: 12/25/08
Phantasy Star Zero US release: 11/10/09

Phantasy Star Portable 2 JP release: 12/03/09
Phantasy Star Portable 2 US release: 09/14/10

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity JP release: 02/24/11
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity US release: TBA

So, following current (not from 2001 or 2006) trends, I'd have to say that you should:

Must be an old fashion because right now a lot of games take months to get localized . And that's when it doesn't take a year or more.

According to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantasy_Star_Online#Console_versions) The only version of PSO that was released within a month of each other was the Dreamcast version. All other versions were several months apart from each other.

I did my homework.

Then you are just not very good at your homework. The only game on that pso release list that falls outside of the just a couple of months release window is blue burst. Also where is PSU on that list? You are not being very thorough.

Apples to oranges. You cant compare online console game releases to hand held ones. Different market. Console releases have more globalized servers so they have to get the game released globally in a shorter span of time. The only console release that remotely supports your argument is AOTI. And even then its just an add on download not a full retail release.

Phantasy Star games are Phantasy Star games. That's the way Sega sees it, I guarantee it.

And historically, Sega has globally released major online Phantasy Star games within a mere couple of months of each other. Who really cares when anyway? We're all gonna buy it regardless.

Going to agree with Theory here. You can't make an accurate comparison between handheld games and console games, especially when your argument is based solely on handhelds.

Well, with everything that's been happening in Japan, I would think this release will be pushed back indefinitely. Rebuilding their lives comes first. I feel so horrible for the people there...

@ThEoRy: I only pulled up PSO's wiki as a simple reference. You just love to argue no matter what, huh? :)

Also, no big deal on PSO2 release as things stand now. I'd rather see the entire country recover before I see another video game produced.

I wonder how this current state of emergeny will impact the actual story, and arcitecture of the game.... Japanese people seem to incorporate real life scenarios into their art-work in profound ways. And a tragedy this huge will certaintly have an impact on everything they produce from now on. I have a feeling alot of the game is going to be re-worked, so I would guess a U.S. release would'nt occur until late 2012.

PSO2 isn't listed on that page. There is no reason to assume "not more Juni" at the moment.

I would guess 2012--just before the world ends, maybe slightly after.

I could care less about when past PSO titles have released. I'm just super eager to hear more news on PSO2.

Yeah, I'd like to play PSO2 before the zombie apocalypse in 2012, and the killer solar storms in 2013...

Wishful thinking, ikr?
