PSO: Gamecube's gateway to the internet?

I was curious, is it possible to break free from sega's 'website' and have full access to the internet? I know that by modifying PSO Proxy I can get my gamecube to display images off my computer. I know next to nothing about this sort of thing, but it can't be that hard to give me access to PSO World from my 'cube.

I've tried that, but the proxy is so limiting, I cannot access any page outside of the ones used my the proxy itself, so right now all I can do is over-write those html files. all images have to be placed in the /images directory too. Well, at least my TV is now displaying a cool metroid prime desktop wallpaper.

It can't work, Sega put more time into it than....well, probably anything else during the port.
