Hey there PSU peeps. I just picked this game up on xbox 360 this week and have been having a pretty good time in general. The only problem I see is that the JP version is WAY better / more supported. Is this the case? Are there english speaking groups from here that play? I am all for immersion and trying to learn japanese again, but I imagine that would take some time ^^.

I guess what Im asking is that if Im looking to play this game until PSO2 comes out, is the extra effort of the JP version worth it?

You are indeed correct about your speculation between the US/JP servers. The JP are better supported, and have content far beyond the 360 right now. There is a small community of US players who are on the JP servers. You'll be able to get wind of those people if you stick here long enough.

In short, if you can put up with Japanese, or are dedicated enough to learn, then yes it is worth it.

Well that is good to hear. I just started the download. Its funny, I found an amazing method for learning a language and was gonna learn japanese but my girlfriend figured it would be useless so I kinda gave up. Now I have a reason too lol and playing this would help ^^. Ive got a good jist of how the game is played now, but I imagine that is different on JP servers?

My highest level on xbox is an almost 70 fotetecher. IMO its a cool idea but rangers can do it better. I also really enjoy my hunter noob too. Is there a best type on JP?

In my opinion Fighmaster, Masterforce, and Acrofighter are the best types on JP atm. Fortegunner, Fortefighter, and Gunmaster are all good, too.

so what is the hot spot right now? What event is the JP server on? Is there a website where I can read that stuff in english?

We just finished Maximum Attack Infinity, we currently do not have an event going on. I use psupedia.info and psu.amesani.org primarily. Most people are either running the Moatoob GBR or the new GAM, Ohtori Encampment.

helps me a LOT. Find an item, check its type. If its a saber then i type "sabers" into the search then i match up star rating and stats to find out what saber i got.

With materials i kinda do the same thing but a lot of items have the same star rating and icon and drop in the same place.

What i personally do for that is find out what the item could possibly be and start punching in item names into http://psu.amesani.org/ , another very useful website :)

Of course this is how I get around because I don't know any Japanese lol :P

Thanks for the tip. So Im on the server on free course, is it worth it to upgrade? And how easy is it to get to 180 or at least a point where I can play with other people?
