...Seriously, you guys are trolling at this point. It's a discussion board. People discuss things on a discussion board! Apparently it's now some kind of crime to discuss things on a discussion board? News to me!

People also discuss things on a discussion board at the right place. By all means create one if you want to talk about it so bad, I'll probably join in the argument even knowing it won't go anywhere.

Anyway. Here have a HUcast scanned from Famitsu:

http://bumped.org/psublog/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/hucast.jpg

It's a pretty big change from the PSO one.

It looks cool, but it looks more like something I should be killing. Or just another post-evangelion giant robot.

Seriously, calm down on the giant robot designs.

CASTs are people too. :\

I like them making the Male Casts "Mecha" like so far, more so than the boxes we got in PSU.

I think I may make a Cast Sub this time, but not for stats alone, but their looks as well.

I still prefer more sleek or "parts" that look easier/more natural to move around in.

In which even PSU only had a few.

The best example I could think of would be something similar to Kireeks design.

Reminds me... looking at it, is that artwork with it using Units? Because if not I see mass clipping happening.

Also this is the first Original PSO class look that seems to have moved away a lot from the original.

But you DO have 600 people online. Playing the game. At the same time. It does not matter if the game is instanced or not -- you DO realize that no matter how big a game world is, you can only interact with a finite number of players at a single time?

I hate this example. Does it mean Halo's an MMO? It's a multiplayer online game with a massive amount of people on at one time. :/

I know it is. I'm sorry for its misuse.

A better example for the word is: "I hate this silly argument in the first place, why am I continuing it?" :)

STILL no mention of Challenge mode...

Either it's not going to come...

or SEGA is going the money-hungry PSU way: release it in a 2nd game like they did with AOTI

PSU and PSP2 had challenge missions or something right? @_@

I dunno how PSO's challenge mode worked, but I'm sure we'll have a LOT of different gameplay modes, paranoia seems to getting pwned left and right recently.

STILL no mention of like 90% of the things in the game. Damn, I guess this is gonna be a really tiny game... wait no, that's just silly logic!

They're not gonna announce every little damn thing before the game comes out, wow. Going on that logic, I can say we're going to be limited to 5 weapons and 2 maps. I haven't seen the final boss yet; guess there isn't gonna be one!

NoiseHERO

The final boss is obviously gonna be dark falz again.

I'd say something possessed by it, but since this game is targeting peoples nostalgia I THINK NOT.

Though a special appearance of the classic dark force would be super badass, especially if they made him scarier with todays modern graphics, easy since he already looked kinda gross.

I'm just kinda stoked to see what this dark invading force looks lllke, whether it's something similar to D-cell (is that right?) or Seed, I love the idea of my character fighting against this dark, horrible force that threatens the galaxy, rifle in hand. I can think of so many possibilities. XD

I am inclinced to believe that those spiders and egg-dropping black enemies are the dark enemies of this game. The story tease said something about darkness invading the galaxy, so I wouldn't be surprised if those enemies appeared randomly on EACH field as part of an interrupt event.

It looks like it's gonna be related to planets this time.

Since it shoots out of the ground and makes symbiote (thing vemon from spider man is made of) webs all over until it makes a giant gothic bloody death ball of doom that does nothing.

Kinda reminds me of a lot of sci-fi horror/thriller movies which of course makes a lot of sense.

I was thinking the same, as well. Just hope they have a little bit more variety in the "dark" enemy design.

Haha, yeah, I definitely see the comparision.

What I was thinking was a combination of these two ideas.

That during the interrupt events, you are swarmed by these "dark" creatures, and you have to beat them back.

Eventually, though, you reach planets that have either been fully corrupted (and have to be purified) or is a sort of homeworld for the parasites. (makes me think of the Zerg world at the end of SC2). I just want a world that you're ALWAYS fighting the parasites, and I want it to be bleak, destitute, I want it to have that feel that it's dark and twisted, I don't want it to be bright and flourescent like the courrupted AMF base. I want it to be brooding like the corrupted A-photon reactor from PRE-AOTI.

What good is the light if there is no darkness to cut through?

NoiseHERO
Jul 31, 2011, 08:55 AM
No consequences on the mission rank, they could make you detour around whatever collapsed. then continue with the mission as the rest of it is generated randomly anyway.

Otherwise, dying during an interrupt event, especially if the challenges increases wouldn't sound unnatural.

well, just make it that even if you die during this specific event, you don't lose a mission grade. Just the chance at extra items.

Of course, it was just an idea. Probably won't be in the game, but it's always nice to speculate and come up with ideas. I'm planning on going into this industry, so stretching my creative muscles is always a good thing. :P

Nobody would ever call it that. But it is indeed massively multiplayer, obviously with hundreds of thousands of players online at any given moment.

Halo doesn't revolve around any player interaction aside from Vs. matches, though. There is no community mode outside of using Xbox live to find friends. Once you finish a match with someone, you are given no chance to interact with them farther unless you make a conscious decision to friend them.

This is the same with Fighting games, as well as most other FPS's, which is probably why they'll always avoid the official classification. But they obviously are Massively Multiplayer Online Games, that's barely even a question with the amount of players you can find online at any given time.

And D-Cell were definitely the best ones they've come up with. SEED was too neon colored and stupid looking. They were barely menacing at all. D-cell had neon lights but at least they still looked mostly dangerous. The only dangerous SEED enemy i can think of is the Carriguine.

Not really liking this. Does this mean you will *need* 12 ppl to get thruogh the content? I was only planning on duoing/small groups, I don't wanna be locked outta content. Sounds too much like raids, meh.
I don't think it meant you'll NEED 12 people, but that you can have UP to 12 people. Meaning that it's probably not a requirement.

not true. I can grasp Dark Force/falz's true form, unlike giygas lol.

Also doing my research i found out that Dark Force is barely even a being lol. He's like a manifestation of rage that gets released by the Profound Darkness every 1000 years lol

Let's fight profound darkness, but throughout the last level there will be events that make different forms of Dark Force/Falz appear mid-mission that we can choose to fight for items or ignore! lol

Too bad none of my ideas matter and in the end we'll just fight another form of Dark Falz :(

FOR ME IT'S CLOTHES!

But if a unit makes me look stupid, I'm not wearing it. Simple as that.

Also just throwing it out there besides CASTs I think they said all the outfits were gonna be one pieced... The only reason this doesn't irk the balls out of me is because we can change the colors at will. In general I hope we still get a lot of outfits at the start (alpha test aside)

Why support forced appearances?

It's not forced at all. You don't HAVE to equip that extra stat boosting unit, just like you don't HAVE to use the strongest weapons or armors in the game like everyone else. The only thing forcing you is your anal fixation on min/maxing for the sake of being the strongest. Which is the opposite of customization.

I find it funny how close a lot of players sound to fanfiction writers who make their little Mary Sue characters. They're flawless, the strongest around and have the best equipment there is, but because they have rainbow colored eyes and J-rock hair and a necklace they're OH so unique!

Wow, talk about total and complete bullshit.

Let's get this straight: Because you're used to making trade-offs (and this is a video game, let me remind you), EVERYONE ELSE should too?

Y'know, there's quite a few games that do not force these things on you. It's becoming increasingly common, in fact, to divorce appearance from stats entirely. Aion does it, Champions Online does it (in fact, it's kind of intrinsic to the premise), APB does it, EVE Online does it, hell, even Everquest 2, which is AGES old by now, gives you the choice to wear whatever the hell you want over your badass uber stat-boosting gear. Hell, even PSU (PHANTASY STAR FUCKING UNIVERSE) divorced your appearance almost entirely from your stats - the only items that affected your appearance were your weapons and MAYBE an aura!

So from a business perspective, looking at the competition, forcing the choice on players is actually a step backward.

And let's not forget that this is a co-op game, where your performance will intrinsically affect the enjoyment of other players. Certainly, you can choose to not use the best gear available to you at the time, but then you might set your whole party back. How is that beneficial to anybody? Not to mention there are tons of elitists who will give you shit for not wearing the best gear you have available to you (something I got a lot for using Crea weapons and A-rank Tenora Works axes in PSU). I could ignore them, but then, there are a lot of them. And if such a simple, useful feature can make all parties involved happy, well, why the hell not?!

Unbelievable, really. Some of you folks are so caught up in your own little world that you didn't even notice some of the advancements of recent titles. Funny, that's the exact thing that made FFXIV a complete and utter failure. I really hope Sonic Team has quite a bit more foresight than that.

Also, I am DAMN glad you guys aren't the ones making the game.

Sure, it's still a matter of choice, but it is discouraging. If the best unit in the game makes your character turn into a retarded-looking clown on LSD that prances around and farts rainbows, then not everyone will want to use it because 1 - everyone who eventually got it would look the same, leaving no sense of individuality, and 2 - you'd just look fucking ridiculous, despite perhaps getting a few lulz out of it initially. And then at that point, people would be at a gameplay disadvantage against the people who actually DO use it, or, if no one in general uses it at all, then that just means the game developers wasted their time and resources making the item in the first place, and failed to deliver proper content to their customers.

Easiest thing to do to fix this imo would be just to have a toggle display gear option, or do like some games do and let you wear your stat-boosting gear along with your clothes that look cool, and choose between which set you want to show off.

I still play some MMOs, and I still see a lot that force costumes. While PSO2 is forcing some, I think the fact that the small amount of 'forced' appearance here is silly for people to complain about.[/quote]

It's basically a weapon. Do you want to be able to control how your weapons look, too? No, if you don't like how it looks, don't use it. That's how it's always been in PSO.

No idea why the quote box didn't work.

And if I refuse?

Seriously, the ability to turn off or replace appearance-affecting items is practically standard issue in these kinds of games now. If PSO2, which has customization as a massive selling point, cannot do this, something is very, very wrong!

And yes, I DO want to be able to control how my weapons look! It's not that freakin' hard! You act like it's completely acceptable for PSO2 to be behind the curve (it's not), you also seem to be under the impression that implementing a feature as simple as appearance swapping is somehow outside the purview of the game (seriously? Really?). That is just complete nonsense. What is "average" is absolutely not justification for not going the extra mile.

Also, I do not play any MMOs that force your appearance, so as far as I'm concerned, their existence may as well be ignored.

That doesn't mean that's how it has to be, though you'd be right to say it's likely it will be like that. Honestly I doubt it's that hard to add RGB sliders to some portion of a weapon. The only real nuisance would just be setting it up for every weapon. I really don't care either way, if we get the option I'll definitely use it, but so far most weapons seem to look fairly good. I like the style of them so it's kind of a non-issue for me.

Someone in here I think said unit color might be tied to secondary color. If that is actually true, weapons might get a similar attachment. Also keep in mind even if that ability isn't in there at launch, doesn't mean they won't patch it in down the road or something.

So basically what you're saying is that the game shouldn't have anything appearance wise set it stone, or designed to look a certain way by the developers. It should allllllll be controlled by the player? That's stupid. I guess Dark Flow should look however the hell the guy playing the game wants it to, rather than the iconic PSO weapon that it is?

That's silly. Not everything should be completely and totally customizable just because you have a strange obsession with how your character looks. Sounds like you're stuck in RPville or something.

Costumes/appearances should be very customizable, yes. But weapons? Not in my opinion.

And if I refuse? Then don't play the game if it really breaks your heart so much.

I want to be able to do badass things with an avatar that looks the way I want it to.

Obviously, the devs see this as a major priority, otherwise they wouldn't be putting so much visible effort into it. Now tell me, why are you so against the "doll" aspect of the game? Because it IS a part of the game, whether you like it or not, whether you admit to it or not.

It sounds to me like you guys are feigning manly machoness for a game that is most definitely not made for macho hotheads.

It still actually bugs me that all the outfits are one-piece...

If there's actually a LOT of outfits and I actually like a good number of them I can't complain with a palette swapper. But as vast as our customization is, it'll be a punch in the balls if I can only really choose 6 outfits and it turns out I hate the way all of them look. So far I'm only really finding the humar outfit decent.

I also find it weird that CASTs can swap out parts like lego-men but fleshies are stuck in one pieces...

It's like being told "Make anything shape want with this clay, but you can only paint it all red." Barbie dreamhouse or not. :\

better get used to it because unless it changes before the beta, then your Phantasy Starz is most likely gonna be full of giant metal pieces jutting out of your characters
It WILL change.

You can't expect me to believe that having some checkbox in the options saying "Hide Units" takes a lot of work. Because, seriously, it really doesn't. Especially next to the customization options they already have in the game.

Well, when you consider that Casts get zero facial customization, and are limited to choosing 5 preset sizes when adjusting the size of their parts (unlike fleshies, that can mold the length and width of their body parts), then it begins to make more sense.

The hunewearl looks a little too unnatural to move in, but I still think the ramar outfit looks BETTER like that.

Though for me it'd make more since if we got CAST thrusters from some of those units (just from the shape)

Or if the Hunewearl's units right there could be used as an extra(or in general) weapon.

Or like I said earlier today, everyone starts the game out with a one-of-a-kind, unique looking character and then by level 20 everyone looks the same. You can have all the customization your little hearts desire but if everyone is equipping these units for stat bonuses, it will look laim.

That, too.

I never understood why people are for the E-Peen aspect of itemization. Inevitably, everybody will look exactly the same in a system where everybody goes for the best stuff and that stuff has a very distinct look.

The majority of PSO/PSU players go for looks over stats when it comes to weapons. The same will be true for units(unless there's one that's just ridiculously overpowered)...

Still, the netcode in PSU seemed kind of blah. There was a significant upspike in network demand when a full party of 6 people came in. Granted, this is several years down the road and a lot of people have better connections. But that doesn't mean shit if the coding isn't up to it. Hoping for some good program optimization!

On the note of equipment appearance, I've got to say, I'm firmly in the camp that likes fixed-appearances for weapons and shields. While it may restrict the ability to make your character exactly what you want on all fronts, it does something more important, IMO; it makes rare items distinct, interesting, and far more collectible.

If, say, a Bringer's Rifle can look like a Holy Ray or a Yasminkov (and vice versa), then it stops feeling like a worthwhile and discreet item, and everything just kinds of melds together into a relatively uninteresting mess. It's the combination of unique stats, skins, and specials that made each item in PSO feel so distinct, made getting new items fun, and allowed for the "gotta catch 'em all" aspect of the game to be so engrossing.

Making skins swappable or allowing them to be "cloaked" would kill the collector's aspect for me and thus eliminate my primary drive to play. So I really hope they don't go that way...

As far as armour goes, I'm less concerned. Simply to keep in line with PSO, I'm fine with seeing it kept invisible in the first place... Then having a separate clothing/costume slot dedicated to appearances is fine.

Fair enough.

I never felt that the way Aion handles it makes rare items less noteworthy, however. If your weapon has the appearance of an extremely rare one but not the stats, it (the skin) is still entirely unique and interesting - perhaps even more so, because you've changed it to suit your tastes - customized it, as it were. Likewise, if I have a badass weapon with seriously badass stats but with the appearance of a "common" weapon, people can still look at my stats and see what it really is. When I see "Stormwing's Spear" on someone's profile, it doesn't even matter what it's been skinned to look like (though people usually opt NOT to skin it because the skin is totally, 100% badass), I know that's what they're using and I know what they went through to get it.

But, eh. If you haven't had that kind of experience, I can understand your feelings. I still hope they add skin swapping, regardless.

This reminds me of the Ep1 days before rares got their own models (They were just mixed colored variations of the normal weapon type)

I'm someone who prefers stats over appearance, but a separate appearance and equipment system would be nice as it'll allow me to look nicer without making any sacrifices. That and it'd allow fashion minded players to have actually nice stats for once.

But on the weapons, I'd rather have rares at least to retain their special model (not to say the varied models in PSZ wasn't nice)

Zyrusticae
Aug 2, 2011, 10:57 AM
Y'know, guys, it's not like skinnable weapons would suddenly mean they wouldn't still have unique models. :p Only those players who choose to replace the skin would have the replaced skin, and you'd still see what the item actually was if you looked on their character profile (assuming they have a way to do that).

In fact, I imagine most players will opt not to skin most of their stuff. However, if a large contingent of players DO deign to reskin something, that's probably a sign of a terrible skin.

RemiusTA
Aug 2, 2011, 12:23 PM
I dont see the point. If you're going to add skinnable weapons, then you might as well give the players a pool of models to mix and match as well.

And if you do that, there's no point for weapons to drop in the first place. Unless you built it around some kind of synthesis system, but we all know it wont turn out like that.

And allowing the players free reign over textures? 98% of the weapons on the game would be fugly.

You don't seem to understand how it works.

In Aion, it works by exchanging an item to replace the skin of another. When you put an item up to use its skin, you first have to physically possess the item. You then have to destroy the item in the process of reskinning the other.

In other words, it still requires collection and rare item skins are still rare (and very, VERY valuable to the right people). It's incredibly silly that you should think we have to go ALL THE WAY if you're going to have it at all. Weapon skinning doesn't have to be cheap, free, and easy. I don't even know why you thought that. You seem to like making massive leaps of logic like that.

I mean, really, let's examine that statement again: "If you're going to add skinnable weapons, then you might as well give the players a pool of models to mix and match as well." That seriously does not follow. Having skinnable weapons does NOT require giving players a pool of models to mix and match (and most certainly NOT for free). It's like saying, "well we have random items, so we may as well have Diablo-style ridiculous stat variation!"

And seriously? Being able to choose the looks makes weapon drops pointless? People still want uber awesome stats on their gear, y'know. And like I just said, you still need the weapon before you can use its skin in the first place - and you lose the weapon if you use it to skin another.

Also, custom textures has absolutely nothing at all to do with what I'm talking about. That's APB and, so far, exclusively the realm of APB.

I've always liked how the rare weapons in PSO/PSU looked in terms of textures and color. Even if it didn't match your character's color scheme or seemed out of place, it made the weapon stand out more and give the character a more unique look.

So I'm not really into altering a weapon's texture. However I am open to the idea of perhaps installing add-ons to weapons, such as scopes and extra magazines for guns or counter-weights to swords.

The reason I don't like the idea of skinning your weapons is because it takes away from the authenticity/personality of the weapon. It just wouldn't have the same awesome effect upon seeing some extremely rare weapon, if it were skinned to look like something else.

I think certain weapons upon finding in mission should have a rarity star or something to distinguish themselves from their regular counterparts and have an higher base stats possibly as well.

An example would be the Killer Elite from PSU where red is the regular main color and a blue colored KE w/ higher base ATP can be found as a whole drop (though a good deal rarer than a normal KE)

Yes... nostalgia. That's the reason for how I feel about weapon skins. EYEROLL

Say for example there's a new, awesome and sought after weapon in PSO2. The most legendary blade there is in the game. Normally, if someone would see somebody else using that weapon, it would have a certain 'wow' factor. However, once re-skinned, it loses all effect.

The awesomeness that is the power/rareness of that sword turns into nothing but stats with a random skin slapped on top. As for the 'check their profile' argument... that's just lol.

Zyrusticae
Aug 2, 2011, 06:15 PM
And again you seem to miss the point that people only reskin weapons if they choose to in the first place.

If someone doesn't want that "OMG WOW" factor, then they can reskin it. (Most people choose not to do this for really valuable weapons, go figure!)

And wtf is that argument? The power/rareness of the sword is lost if the skin is replaced? That makes NO SENSE AT ALL. The sword is STILL rare. The sword is STILL powerful. It STILL has the exact same name. You just can't tell at a glance because the player CHOSE to replace the skin!

It's like choice is a completely alien concept to you folks whenever skinning is involved.

What does anything that he said have anything to do with Nostalgia?
This whole "rare weapons are unique and lose their uniqueness if they're skinned!" thing is best described as clinging to the nostalgia of previous games and the way they do it, throwing out all possibility of an alternative actually being any good.

Like they say, "don't knock it 'til you try it."

THAT'S EXACTLY HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS.

You have two weapons. One weapon that you want to use as the "base", i.e. that has the stats you want. Another weapon that has the skin. You put the skin on top of the base, the weapon used as the skin is destroyed and replaces the skin on the base.

If you've played the game for awhile, you know exactly which weapon was used as the skin. Rare skins still have the massive prestige factor, especially when you have to ask "where'd you get that?". And especially rare weapons still have the "OMG AWESOME" factor because, y'know, they're freakin' rare. And if someone decides to disguise that weapon with a low-level skin, why the hell should they be stopped?

That is when I get angry. Though, obviously, I might have to stop caring at some point because this board is utterly rife with people who seem incapable of showing basic respect for others' opinions.

I suggest you take that latter route if that's the way you feel, because you seem to be the one that doesn't understand something. Just because you feel that people should respond in kind to you in whatever form doesn't mean you'll get it. You're like the equivalent to a scrub in a fighter tournament. A scrub feels that certain rules should be adhered to, you shouldn't spam the same attack over and over, you shouldn't use character A against character B. But guess what, that's not how it actually works in reality. People are out to win, and they will abuse every tactic in the book to do so. Likewise people will post however they feel like, regardless of how you think they should post. If you think they are trolling, than all you've done over the course of several posts, is feed the troll. You're very unlikely to correct anyone, especially because you do so in such an aggravated and frustrated manner half the time that comes off as offensive to most. Also, is your pride really so sensitive that if someone even deigns to say something against (or ignore) you (be it right or wrong) that it's suddenly an insult? Especially over the internet, on a forum, with people you will probably never meet in person and will never directly affect your life in any way? If so, I think you honestly need to get in check with yourself there.

I dunno, I see where Ceresa is coming from. I don't want to let my team down. Even if they're my friends, that just gives me more of a reason to work hard and protect them.

Of course, doing that all the time is just a bit much, you gotta have fun with the game, too.

It's about striking a balance, me thinks.

What about those billboards playing the PSO2 announcement trailer? I wonder how much bandwidth those use... not a problem in JP, but I imagine it could be problematic stateside.

Dunno.

I'm more interested in hearing confirmation that it's coming stateside, honestly.

I'm almost sure we'll get it, but I'm kinda hoping for a simultaneous release, because hopefully that means that we all get to play together, and that means that we'll be getting the same content.

Which means this game will make me it's slave for a very. long. time.

I hope so too...it would be nice for once not to be treated like 2nd class citizens. I might be more inclined to stick around far longer than PSU which left a far worse taste in my mouth than PSOBB did.

All they need is a simultaneous release.
World wide release. That way nobody is left behind. Even better, develop content for both regions as it's made make translations. This old method of doing things must be discarded.

I do have to wonder sometimes...

What is different about, say, the way Square Enix does things that is so much more efficient than other game companies such that they can easily manage simultaneous updates across all their supported languages? Why is it that other MMO developers can't follow suit?

It'd be nice if Sega could somehow follow their example. You won't see me holding my breath for it, tho.

Given publishing they know how to fund such an endeavor the principle still stands.
As for the glitches a well done beta test and a good support team after should sqaush bugs as they come up. These things are known to pop up.

He gave Bayonetta as a credit to Sega's "manpower". But it wasn't their manpower. They hired an outside company to develop it, lol.

ShinMaruku

They paid an outside company. In man 'in-house games' they also hire outside companies. It's a simple matter of managment and money. Less so man power.

Technically, Sega did nothing for Bayonetta than publish it. It was created by Platinum Games, developed by them and Sega came around and published it for them just like they did with MadWorld for the Wii. Sega had little to zero creative input on that title.

Due to the wide range of enemy levels you will encounter, expect drastic changes between difficulty levels.

now this got me very excited! so basically during runs all monsters wont be the same level! THATS WHAT I WANTED TO BEGIN WITH! haha thanks!

Btw I am building a new gaming computer just so i can play this lmao, my old computer is a 2003 model and is way out of date! barely handled PSU.. PSO is the best of the best and always will be! This game is going to control my life.. hope the wife is okay with that lmao

I'm in the exact same boat. '03 parts, will definitely need an upgrade when the time comes. Still, I somehow managed to get Oblivion, of all things, to run on it. Shimmering Aisles butt raped it though. When the intro room turns into butterflies that scatter my computer huddled into a corner and started screaming bloody murder until it was coughing up blood.

Also kinda disappointed that only 3 races are in the game. But thankfully they said that adding new races isn't impossible. I really hope that beasts and Dewmans come back.

And its just me, but I hope that Beasts can either look mostly human or completely animal like.

He sucked in that movie, he just played michael cera, and half the actors only barely resembled their comic book counterparts outside of the lines...

The movie was just fun because of the special effects and Bryan Lee O'Malley's sense of humour...

And I guess people like Beck. Though I'll assume Michael Cera's name/whatever his weird fanbase may be probably dragged in a lot of people too.

Aug 4, 2011, 10:08 AM
Considering the amount of PSO drops that came back in PSU, I wouldn't be surprised to see alot more come back for PSO2.

Personally, I am curious about Rangers and the possibility of Charge Shot II abilities like in PSPoi2. Call me vain, but I would love to see some flash while using guns. As much as I love TPS and FPS, it would seem kinda dull to watch all the hunters have all the fun jumping and dashing around the area hacking down enemies while you just stand still and occasionally strife.

Also, I wonder if they are going to use force mechanics from PSPoi2 as well.

I think you meant Magashi. And while the sound of each swing did get annoying, the Incap was worth it, especially with Infinity's sword speed boost.

PSU's joke weapons just....didn't feel the same.

I haven no clue why, but little weapons that should have been neat (real hand gun, pannon cannon, ect) were just boring.

My old theory is that their crappy unlocking mechanics made the rares on PSU boring. Well, aside from no rare being unique, anyway.

They release like 3 rares at a time, the community ravages the mission it drops in, everyone gets it, gets bored with it for another 2 months, and then they release another 3 rares, community ravages the mission, ect ect rinse repeat.
