Used JP copy of PSP2 online?

I've been searching these forums, but it's taking up a lot of time. Just gonna lay it down and hope someone can help me.

I'm in Japan, so I went for the cheapest route here. Bought a used copy of PSP2 and the code in the sleeve says it's valid until Dec. of 2010. So there's no way to use it even if it hasn't been used yet. Any other way to get online? Any specific guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is no business about it because you can't, outside of purchasing a new UMD or download copy of either Infinity or the greatest hits version of PSP2.

I'm curious. Is PSPo2 still active in Japan or did all players migrated to Infinity?

no like barely... I really think they all quit JP PSPo2

It's not hard to imagine that core player base migrated to Infinity when it came out. Both games share the same servers (or both servers share the same maintence schedule) but there haven't been any actions taken against cheaters since Feburary and no new content since August of last year.
