Some time ago, I made a tutorial about body construction done easy...with Shapes!

Well today I return with a simular idea with the face and head. It is very important to drill this idea into your head:

Even if you know what you THINK you see on a person... it doesn't mean thats what is actually there. Remember to draw what you SEE, and not what is you think is.

dear god what have we done to you??
Of course. Its easy to make this assumption when you're drawing your own character. They look like what you intend but, truthfully it'll be helpful to understand that concept. Use it to your advantage... every character looking the same is bland (and very Buckley B^U)
Lets use these two girls from aerie.com
http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad298/Nokoopa/Tutoruial%202/g3.jpghttp://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad298/Nokoopa/Tutoruial%202/gr33.jpg

Looking at these we can determaine a few things.
1. They're female
2. With Long hair
3. Female facial features.

Though. This is kind of bland key features to comment. Each girl here has very unique features to them. Girl 2's face is abit more compacted.
Girl 1's got a bit of muscle in her cheeks, it is not as intense as girl 2s. etc etc etc

Okay so here is some tips on face properties.

Now I am no ways an expert on facial anatomy. Nor do i intend to call myself a master at it. But here are some crafty tips to the trade.

1. The based assumption is the human head has their eyes split right in the middle of the face.
2. Noses are in the middle of their face as well.
3. the Eyebrow lines actually are close to the curvature of the nose.
4. The ears two connection points are the eyes and nose. Obviously a real human face don't have pointy ears.
5. On the side of their face, keep in mind. Faces are not FLAT on the sides.

. There is (in this) an exaggerated > shape showing off how their face angles.

That rule also applies to eyes. The eye in total is a sphere, with the eye skins covering parts of it.

Well. Keep it all in mind. See. Don't think.
No 2 faces are the same.
Faces have a structure. That much is true.
Faces are not flat.

Good luck and happy travels!
