I looked into making a tool to do this and it wrecked my head a bit. This is always going to be a manual process as far as I see it. Good luck Mikazuki ;)

i think the trouble with converting is more of understanding how the process and the plugin works. Got plenty of practice converting for a few colleges when Infinity came out, plus I'm a little free nowadays so sure why not.

The only guide I found says you need two PSP's, otherwise it's a no go from my finds.

You do not need two PSPs. Just two copies of the games will do.

It will also work on any CFW that can run the SGDeemer plugin. I'll PM.

Any program that allows you to create a ZIP file of your save file should be fine. So, yep!

The funny thing is I learnt the conversion process from here a long time ago. No idea where that guide is now though.

That said, if the people who I've helped converted don't mind, please sent me a PM or something once you've confirmed the save works. Just realized I forgot to double-check all the conversions I did before today <.<


Also, I read somewhere that the conversion process can screw with your "EXP To Level Up" value under certain conditions, turning that value into your Max EXP for that one level up. Never encountered it before personally so does anyone know more about this?

Yes. But you might lose a couple items, like DLC and japanese themed items.

You'll probably have no need to have Vanilla PSP2 on the sticks if Infinity was localised, though. People wouldn't need to convert saves except from JP Infinity -> US/EU Infinity.

Umm, the file should go into your "\PSP\SAVEDATA" folder. As in, "\PSP\SAVEDATA\NPJH50043", and you'd be able to view this save data on your PSP.

Yep, I did a US>JP conversion. Just tested the save file on my side too and it loads fine on PSPo2 JP.

Try to double-check if you've placed the files in the correct place.

Your drive letter (the "G" in the picture) may be different, but everything else after that must be the same.

i cant figure out what im doing wrong. if the file works on your end but not on mine then im messing this up big time. i went to "SAVE DATA" created a NPJH50043 file and dropped the file you sent me into it, its just not working... its not loading up as if i were to drop the original file and showing up as corrupt on my psp. im not ready to give up yet. i spent 350 hours on my data and ill take any advice anyone out there can give me. thank you Mikazuki.

Mmm if you have a copy of PSPo2 JP you could try and see if the game is able to load the save file.

If you have PSPo2I, even better. Try to import that save file into PSPo2I directly ._.

Error 80110327 means "no save data found", and PSPo2I sends you back to the title screen if it doesn't find any data to import. I'm guessing you placed the save file in the wrong place again ._.;

If you don't mind, try taking screenshots of your memory stick's "\PSP" and "\PSP\SAVEDATA" folders?

I succeeded in importing your JP save data into Infinity on my PSP.
I don't know much about PSP error codes, but here's some bad news (http://www.ehow.com/how_8683757_rid-psp-error-80110306.html) about error code 80110306 from Google D:

Maybe you could, umm, try copying out all the important data (ISOs, plugins, save data, etc) onto your computer and then try reformating your memory stick? (translation: someone else halp pls? D:)

If your using save files created in the demo, you should be able to just load them up in the full game. That's what ppl did when the full version of Vanilla was released iirc.

It's a separate game, it has the original PSP2 story with added content and Episode 2. Buying the game via JP PSN will automatically give you the Little Wing License needed to play online, or if you buy the game on UMD the code is in the casing.

It's not like the US/EU servers where everyone can jump on willy-nilly. This server is actually monitored.

Just looked at the save and it looks like one of the knockoff ones from gamefaqs.

Edit: Is it alright if I just forego this one? The save is so badly hacked, as in Type Level 19 Hunter with everything in S ranked weapons.

Your partner card info will still be saved, even if it's a new character. 1000 kills on all bosses doesn't exactly warrant a forgiveness if you plan on playing on Japan's servers.

You dont understand. We need to keep the hackers in Vanilla away from Infinity. We cant keep them all away but we can keep some away. Since you cant get online, you can always disable your cheat plugins before running the game when you have this patch.

Im not an hardcore gamer and before anyone starts a flame war over wether
im just a noobish hacker good for nothing ill make something clear.

Im good playing without cheats, hell i even finished PSPo1 and PSPo2 before i
discovered cwcheat and similar cheating devices, but i like using cheats to advance
faster trough history and what not, im fact i keep doing missions endless amounts
of times just for fun...

And what good does it do for me if i deactivate the cheat plugin while playing in english??
when im boored i like to hack drops and see what i need for trade missions etc AND
i need to know what im grabbing off the ground...

I unerstand how you guys feel and all the FIASCO PSPo2 USA is now because of hackers
but like i said before; i like my cheats and if this translation is not gonna let me play
while reading AND cheating offline then ill just keep playing the japanese version...

anticheat algorithms on patch, anyone with good enough knowledge about plugins or
patches for psp games can easily edit and strip the patch of such restrictions...

And i say this because i dont remember exactly who also did this for what psp game
i was quite annoyed that i could not cheat offline so i just edited the patch myself and
ditched the anticheat they incorporated in the patch...

The point is if they find ways to do things like mask their accounts and breach their way
into the japanese PSN is this gonna stop them?? you know no matter how hard hackers

to get online patch or not...

Unless your on "psp hacking" forum, then most video game forums/boards will dislike those that talk about hacks. As for the anti cheats, I dont think you can mod it. Coldbird has decided against the idea of allowing it to be opensource.

Since things have gone there, let's review a few things.

#1. Nobody wants cheats online. If you're going to cheat, don't do it online. Don't. Don't take a modified save online. If you want to cheat, stay offline and do it where no one but you can be affected. If you want to play online, use a clean, unmodified save. Some people may not think cheating is bad, but Sega does and it earns you the chance at a ban.

You left out the SAVEDATA.BIN, needed for the save.

Try using winrar and compress the entire ULUS10529 folder, it should carry everything with it.

Edit: Never mind, the contents of the folder are just strewn about my desktop.

PARAM.SFO is only a segment of the data needed for conversion, it's easier to upload the folder(s) ULUS10529 for US or ULES10439 for EU. If you're running CFW and have the JP version of the game (NPJH50043) I can PM you on how to do it yourself.

Would anyone be kind enough to convert my save file? Sadly, I can't go online since my copy was used (got it from my cousin who just moved back from NV), but I wouldn't mind getting a head start on when I go to import after the translation patch is finished.

You need more than the SAVEDATA.BIN to convert the save. Compress the whole ULUS10529 folder and upload that instead.

Pardon me for the intrude,but it might be a good idea to send the files via. private messages to the individual converting the saves;therefore preventing identity theft and possible problems in the near future of online gaming.Please forgive me for posting a possible out of line post,but security should be increased when it comes to websites both public and private.

PSP2 Save files probably won't lead to identity theft... I don;t see how. It's just character data. Who cares if someone copies it.
