explanation for spaceship boxes looking like the xbox?

im sure many people have noticed this already but the boxes in the space ship board of ep2 look exactly like xboxes, any one have a good explanation for this?

Wow... all the crap in that "Seven Reasons"... was totally irrelevant. Who cares who designed it and why? The controller? Ever heard of the controller-s? It's certainly better than the poorly thought-out (as far as I'm concerned) Gamecube controller. And the PS2 controller is exactly the same as the PS1. Which translates to not enough buttons, and a lack of very useful trigger buttons.

As far as the games go, that's pure opinion. Halo is widely regarded as the best FPS out there, and I agree, even though I loved Half-Life. Dead or Alive 3 is a great fighter. Shenmue II is a great game, for people who have attention spans longer than 5 minutes. MechAssault is a pretty decent game. Panzer Dragoon Orta is amazing and a great game in an otherwise often-overlooked genre. Sega GT 2002 is nearly as good as Gran Turismo 3 in some ways, and actually better in others. Jet Set Radio Future is fun and has a unique style not found in any other game.

And OF COURSE X-Box isn't doing well in Japan. It's the only America-based company of the three. Sony and Nintendo are heavily favored by Japanese gamers because 1) the companies are Japanese 2) the companies have the most-popular franchises (Mario, Metroid, Final Fantasy, etc.) and 3) Microsoft isn't nearly as well known in Japan as Nintendo or Sony. And they don't have those franchises because the developers prefer them all that much, it's mostly because either they have an exclusive contract with one that they can't get out of, or because the franchise is made by people working for the company (i.e. Mario, Metriod, and Zelda are made by Nintendo... so OBVIOUSLY they're only going to be for the Gamecube).

I loved Metroid, and I love all the Zelda games, and the new Mario was... alright. Nothing great though, in my opinion. Super Mario 64 was better. And I hate to get involved in these kind of arguments, but people don't seem to realize how stupid they're being. Calling X-Box users "biased assholes" while blasting the X-Box is totally hypocritical, because obviously you're biased. All the systems have strengths and weaknesses. I went with the X-Box simply because my friend has a Gamecube, so I can play the Gamecube exclusive titles at his house, and I'm really not all that interested in much the PS2 has to offer. Grand Theft Auto was kinda fun at first... but it got old quick. And Vice City is just more of the same. The only games I want to play for PS2 are Final Fantasy X (because I didn't get to finish it before my friend's PS2 broke because of the PS2 design flaw... and he returned it and got an X-Box instead) and Final Fantasy X-2.

Anywho... the point is, bashing any system is stupid. Picking a system is 99% personal preference.

And on topic... you know, I didn't even realize that until now. It's probably just a joke put in the game by the programmers... I highly doubt Microsoft paid Sonic Team to put boxes that looked like X-Boxes in there. Especially since they're boxes you break. Not exactly great publicity.

Not everyone thinks HALO is the be-all end-all of FPS games. It is pretty, but it lacks the essence infused into Day of Defeat. Not that HALO is an inferior game - I'd rank it 9/10 as far as FPS games go. I'd just rank Day of Defeat as a 9.5/10, making it better than HALO. 'course, you won't know what I'm talking about unless you've actually played Day of Defeat on a 32 man server, on a map like dog1, caen2 or thunder.

The X-Box is a good system, so bashing it is lame.

However, the games released and lists I've read of future releases do nothing for me.

I bought the GameCube and PS2 solely on the fact that I -knew- they would have games that play to my taste. The X-Box, to me, is your older, (somehow always) better brother. You know? The one you hate, but have to like because you're family.

The games that define the X-Box, Halo and DOA (the only ones worth mentioning in my opinion), aren't enough for me to drop 200 bucks on.

Then again, I spent 300 for the PS2 release, and I haven't played it since the release of...Final Fantasy X (which I hated).

The X-Box may have superior hardware, but what good is a console if the majority of the games, plainly said, aren't good?

Those boxes were designed early 2001 so I doubt there's relation to the Xbox. I know there were already protoype Xboxes... but at that time anyone could guess a PSO version would land on Xbox...

I have an X-box...I got it solely for PSO not thinking there were any good games, but I was wrong. There ARE good games for X-box, it's just that people don't want to accept the fact that a game system made by the US could be better than their own. And Microsoft doesn't even make 90% of the games, other companies do, so you can't blame Microsoft for making every game crappy, blame others.

I just think...hint - think that people are jealous that America created a game system of their own.

By the way, hearing people bash game systems makes me want to defend the ones being bashed on.

About the boxes...they are just boxes that slightly resemble game systems. On purpose? Maybe. Accident?
