MAG colors revisited

Many have wanted complete clarification on how to acquire the eighteen different MAG colors in E1&2. I decided to sit down and verify them once and for all. The results are as follows...

So does the first color (eg. red) correspond to the first row while the second color (eg. orange) corrspond to the second row? Or can you get either variation by choosing a suit in that column?

Nope. Each of the first seven costumes in every set will randomly select between the two MAG colors. The last two outfits will randomly select from all eighteen MAG colors.

I found a little trick to help speed up getting the MAG color you're after. Make a character with the costume you need. Enter a game (offline) and go down to Ragol. If the MAG isn't the color you're after reset the game (press Reset or use the soft-reset) instead of quitting and saving the game. The MAG's color will not be saved and when you enter another game the MAG will generate its color again.

Thanks for the info, it definetly comes in very handy when trying to get the mag colour you want. I recently got my Varaha mag up to level 200 but then had a little falling out with it since it did not match any of my HUcaseal's other costumes. I,ve decided to go with a black Mag since black goes with most costumes however I have not been able to get the colour right untill recently thanks to your chart.

Seems it has been updated with Vulpes results sparked by my inquiry about a Cyan mag.

Which, thanks to that, I have finally been able to get !
Just took another full hour of re-creating the same char.
(no soft reset on Xbox. And a hard reset would boot me back to Modchip mode, I would have to boot sthing and then reset again to virgin mode.)

Umm the jet black color from DC is not in episode 1&2? The darker black it looks me like the common one and the other is grey.

There was only one black on the DC (same as above). In total the DC version only had 11 MAG colors. There were 7 more added for E1&2. All of this is listed in the MAG color guide.

Just recently I created a c-mode character; a HUcaseal with the row 1 9th costume; a random costume that happens to be pink. When doing c-mode the other day I noticed that she has a lavender colored mag! I've never seen this color before. I wish I could take a picture of it to add it to the table. Has anyone else gotten a lavender colored mag?

It was probably the purple. Most televisions don't display exact colors, especially when compared to a high-resolution monitor. For example: the purple MAG on my TV looks nothing like the purple MAG pictured above. It's closer to a pink, which would be comparative to your claim of finding a lavender.

However, if you're certain you've found a new color do us all a favor. Make a new character with a purple outfit and keep resetting/remaking until you've seen both of the purple outfit MAG colors to compare to what you saw. Then post again here and tell us your results.
