Got these two images from a site called Desktop Nexus, but unfortunately, they don't allow hotlinking images...

The first one I found while searching for Ghost in the Shell images. I guess it kinda fits that description despite not looking anime-ish or having any recognizable characters, but I still like the industrial look to it.

Second one, well... just wanted something sexy, yet still tasteful, and a little badass at the same time. ^^;

i think the picture you try to upload was over 1 MB. i usually upload my 1920x1080 wallies
on Photobucket under 1 MB all the time. if any of them were over 1 MB, photobucket will
downgrade your picture. it's almost like here on PSO-World with the siggy. if you upload
a sig over 48.8k, it will automatically downgrade.

i know that you can upload up to 1920x1080p for photobucket for sure. i havent try
any bigger resolution yet, so i can't really help you there. just try getting the picture
down to less than 1 MB.

Well, my desktop is actually very simple as my edition of windows doesn't support many features as the usual Windows 7 installation (i'm using Windows Server 2008 R2)

Altough it's made for server enviroment it performs very well too as a home operating system since it's very customizable!

As for the wallpaper I usually have birdies and landscapes as wallpapers ^^ specially I love the lovebirds and parrots and rappies of course!

This is my new desktop. I'm somewhat proud of it.
It's a fractal generated by (-.5+3i)e^z, with the inside of the Julia set colored by distance from the Julia set, and the area outside the Julia set colored by escape time, the region is from within the rectangle bounded by -2 and 2i.

Made it using a Java program to calculate and color the inside and outside of the set separately, then I combined the two in GIMP and messed with their hue until it looked nice.

For the record, the purplish areas are the interior of the Julia set.

Unfortunately, attaching it messed up the quality a bit. (Not that any program can actually calculate all the fine details anyways :wacko:)

Now I only wait for people I know to post arts I like, and then browse the artist's gallery for minimal risk.
I found out you can also browse pics pretty safely when you're in a random discovery mood if you input a picture url for a pic that doesn't exist. pixiv then sends you on a page with 20~25 pics that seem to be taken randomly, but I rarely ever get horrendous or NSFW material out of it (I think it takes out all the R-18/R-18G stuff, and only select random pics from the ones that have a good rating).

I try to get the most of the performance thats why I dont have aero yet i like to see my squishy birdies on the desktop always they bring me a lot of joy! the pictures are actually ones of many birds usually parrotlets and toucans and smaller birdies and are rotating every 5 hours or so.

I used to put game/anime pictures as wallpaper in the past often but i think its better and more relaxing to put animals or landscapes as wallpapers.

You could get a parrotlet it's a "Pocket Parrot" its smaller but can still talk and act like a usual full size parrot but it's very good for small homes and bedrooms plus they are very squishy!

I added the white myself.
The original pic was only the center part.
There are nice pics I find on pixiv that I want to use as desktop wallpapers, but they very rarely have fitted resolution for wallpapers.
So I tend to pick ones with a plain background that I can easily use to fill out the rest of the screen with the pic at the center, rather than extending the original pic, which would make it way too blurry.

Yeah, I get what you mean. I usually favor wallpapers with darker color tones when browsing for new ones, although I have a bit of everything. I especially seem to favor stuff with a mix of aqua and black colors (which I also use for my winamp skin since years), which I find to be a very relaxing color combo for my eyes. That's most likely how I ended up with a fair amount of Hatsune Miku and Black Rock Shooter wallpapers when I don't really care for either in the first place.

And now for something briiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. (And mebbe NSFW? Dunno. Looks like people seems to be way more easily offended by bare skin than by this kind of stuff. *shrugs*)

Both pics are by the same artist though (sayori), and since I just read many artworks from Ougon Musoukyoku CROSS were pics selected from a contest held pixiv, maybe some of her stuff is actually in the game.
Truely a shame she only posts boring porn stuff on her pixiv account these days.
