If a Slotted item is Combined do the slots carry-over?

look at the topic,
i'm making a item and won't be able to make it for a while but i can still make use of the armor, but i need it to be sloted
if i slot it now and combine it, will it carry over to the final product?

also, items like Chu Chu fever does the stats of the mag carry to the item

Chu Chu Mag
Pow:50
Dex:50
Def:50
Mind:50

do i get a boost on the frame like...
+ ATP,DEF,MST,ACC and what not,
if not then wouldn't it be easier to just have a lvl 5 mag become a Chu Chu? and then make it a Chu chu Fever?

Do the slots carry over? Yes they do.

Do mags like Chu Chu boost the stats when combined... I don't know for sure because I've never found a Spirit Garment... but I would say no.

I've seen the stats on a few Chu Chu armours and they are terrible. It adds like 1 DFP or something horrible like that.
