I tekked a Thunger Gatling +3 with 0% attributes and 40% hit. my base ATA is 141, a standard Gatling adds +9 ATA, and for some reason the +40% hit gives me a +40 ATA for a total 190 ATA. I'm just wondering where the +40 ATA from the 40% hit is coming from. Was it made as a 1 ATA per Hit% to make hit useful to Mechine guns?

Hit attribute doesn't actually increase ATA bonus by a specified %, and instead adds the stated number of points. So, 40 Hit gives you 40 ATA, regardless of your and your weapon's ATA rating.

Ahh... thanks I guess I never noticed till I had Hit% on my Gatling, since to other weapons its not a dramatic difference.

SP-24 said it correctly. All of the other Attribute %s are percent based, but Hit % isn't really a percent. That's one of the reasons it's so heavily valued in trades.
