Level reset

My friend and I were playing a few minutes ago. We were both level 6 and his level reset to 1. Any ideas what happened? He's really pissed about this now :/

You sure he didn't change classes?

Did he change class? You level each one seperately. If you're just starting out and you leveled up to level 6 as a FO and change to RA, you're level 1 "again."
