Cant find any to complete my first matterboard for the life of me. Any tips on where they could be

They are hard to come by in forest.
The City mission and Desert both, however, have them spawn often and they're easy to hunt there.

There's also a lot in the emergency quests, as all of the enemies are darkers. (plus the occasional rappy!)

I'm having the same problem finding them in the forest, I guess i'll find out if the emergency breedas satisfy the drop requirement.

isnt the emergency thing random? I dont play all that often and haven't run into one yet

After farming the forest free exploration mission for a while I just went back to dagan extermination, finally got a breeda spawn today that dropped it.

If the emergency mission isn't up, it might be worth a shot.
