How to increase number of character models loaded ingame?

I try increasing it through the ingame options, but when I try to slide the bar, it won't let me. How can I fix this?

You can try changing the line from your user.pso2 file

DitailModelNum = 40

However, I have read that some people can't turn it higher regardless due to driver or hardware issue.
