Maru (Maloo) and Grants

I can't for the life of me, figure out how to get either Maru(Maloo)'s partner card or get her in the party.
When I talk to her, she doesn't have any options, just dialogue, and then exits interactions, can anyone clear things up, step by step please?

You have to be a force and when you talk to her click first option then talk to her again click 2nd option. accept all client orders from her.

I am a level 14 force no options appear, whatsoever.
Do I need to progress with the matter board?
I haven't even started that.

Do Affine first order. Talk to Maru as force, accept all her client orders. Then she gives you 2 orders that require you to kill 20 forest monsters with Rods and Talis each. Once you clear those turn them in, she should give you her card.

Maloo's first quest only appears if you ARENT a force. She asks you to switch.

Oh yea, and Afin's thing too I think.
