DON'T SHARE WEBMONEY CODES BETWEEN MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS. SHARING CODES MAY GET YOUR ACCOUNT(S) BANNED!

YOU SHOULD ONLY USE THIS METHOD IF PURCHASING AC THROUGH PSO2ES (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218485) IS NOT AN OPTION!

★★★ ★★★ ★★★

DISCLAIMER: Read this spoiler box first
Sega's terms of service imply that people who live outside of Japan are not allowed to play PSO2.

This tutorial is being left up for reference, and is not intended to encourage players to disobey Sega's terms of service. Use this tutorial at your own risk. If you have questions, ask them below, or contact me directly using the info in my signature.

•Edited a few small things for clarity
•Noted that Tenso's service is very good, and that you should remember them if you ever want to import Japanese goods

April 2nd, 2014
•Added Arks Layer to the list of WebMoney code providers

January 24th, 2014
•The guide has been majorly rewritten, and irrelevant information has been removed
•Added "Easy method" for choosing Japanese address
•Removed information about translating your name into Japanese. IT NO LONGER WORKS!
•Completely removed WebMoney registration from the guide, as it is unnecessary and was being included for reference only
•Removed information on sharing WebMoney codes with friends. SHARING CODES CAN NOW GET YOUR ACCOUNT BANNED!
(Thanks to AIDA for letting me know the guide needed updating.)

December 17th, 2013
•Updated color-coded CAPTCHA image to an image using hiragana, instead of katakana like the old CAPTCHAs did
•Added Syklo's name to the CAPTCHA guide link

October 9th, 2013
•The guide is up to date.
•Tweaked the formatting a bit
•Reworded the section that talks about WebMoney accounts (and how you don't need one)
•Changed the link for unregistered users. It now goes to AIDA's guide (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210236) instead of Google.[/SPOILER-BOX]

If you have trouble purchasing AC, POST HERE BEFORE YOU PM ME.

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Hey, guys. Jim here.

I feel like there isn't a guide out there that presents a reliable and COMPLETE method for purchasing AC, so I'm going to make the guide to end all guides. If you have access to the internet and half a brain, you CAN and WILL get AC with my guide.

This tutorial only definitely works for US residents, but I'm confident other countries will be fine as well. Please reply with your success stories! If you get stuck, reply here. PLEASE DON'T CONTACT ME DIRECTLY UNTIL YOU POST IN THIS THREAD.

•You do NOT need to falsify information in this tutorial.
•All of the billing info you enter will (or at least can) be correct and legal.
•You do NOT need to worry about whether your debit card will be accepted.
•You WILL have AC and be awesome because of this tutorial.

Here's a list of common things you will need to complete my tutorial...

1. Google Chrome
(Optional, but it makes the process easier... Actually, it makes everything easier. Why haven't you switched yet?)

2. An eBay account
(Recommended, but also optional depending on which method you choose.)

3. A working, confirmed Paypal account

4. About an hour of time to kill

5. SNACKS

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

LET'S BEGIN!

★ STEP 1: Choosing an address ★

There are two methods to choosing an address to register with:
(You only need to use one of these methods!)

•1: The easy method•
Sega doesn't appear to check the validity of your address, so if you're feeling lazy, you should be able to use any Japanese address you want. I've heard of more than one person using the Sega Japanese Headquarters address to register. (Shown below)

Postal code: 〒140-8583
Address: 東京都品川区東品川1丁目39番9号カナルサイドビル
Phone number: +81 3-5736-7111

•2: The Tenso method•
Tons of PSO2 players are using random addresses, so this method probably isn't necessary. It's just the way I did it, PERSONALLY.

What is Tenso, you ask? It's a forwarding service. They provide you with a REAL, LEGAL Japanese shipping address, FOR FREE. You can have things shipped there, and once Tenso receives them they'll charge you a fee to ship it to the states. Now, you're not going to actually ship anything to the address during this tutorial, but you ARE going to make one so you can register with it on Sega's website. [spoiler](Tenso's service is great, for the record. I definitely recommend them for importing Japanese goods.) During the registration process, you'll be asked how you want to pay for Tenso's service. Since you're probably not going to actually use Tenso's service right this moment, select Paypal, because this option doesn't require you to fill out payment info right away. (Credit card DOES require you to fill out payment info, so don't use that)

Click here (http://www.tenso.com/en/) to visit the English Tenso page. Create an account there using all of your real information. When you're able to access the "My Page" screen and see your address, you're done! Just keep that tab open for later.

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

★ STEP 2: Selecting a Japanese alias ★

If you know how to, feel free to create your own Japanese alias. If you're feeling lazy, or don't know how, simply use the one included below.

The names are shown as Surname/Given name. This is the order you will enter them in the registration form.

Romaji: (This is just for your reference. You will not use Romaji during registration.)
Mikami/Kiyohiko

Kanji:
三上/清彦

Katakana: (phonetic)
ミカミ / キヨヒコ

Also, here's a backup alias, just in case you need more than one:

[SPOILER-BOX](Listed surname/given_name)

Romaji: (This is just for your reference. You will not use Romaji during registration.)
Shin / Shouji

Kanji:
新 / 庄司

Katakana (phonetic):
シン / ショウジ[/SPOILER-BOX]

You'll use your Japanese alias in the next step.

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

★ STEP 3: Registering your address with Sega ★

Yes, you're finally ready to register with Sega. This tutorial assumes you already have a SEGA ID. If you don't, check out AIDA's PSO2 registration guide (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210236). It's very helpful. Make sure you have your Japanese address/Tenso account handy. The worst part here is doing the Japanese CAPTCHA. To do it, you have to open the Wikipedia page on Hiragana and scroll down to the first table of characters. Pay close attention to details so you don't mix up characters like ぬ(nu) and め(me). If you get stuck, just refresh the page for a new CAPTCHA. (Getting it wrong won't always give you a new one) To help you get used to solving these, I have color-coded the solution in the screenshot.

Click here for the SEGA AC Purchase login page (https://cha.isao.net/profile_oem/OEMLogin.php?product_name=pso2)

Click here for "Hiragana" on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiragana)

Also, here's Syklo's guide to defeating kana CAPTCHAs (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203925)

3114

Once you defeat the CAPTCHA, you'll need to register your address with SEGA. I don't remember exactly how to register it manually, but if try to buy AC it'll automatically take you to the registration screen. If the website never stops you and asks for an address, don't worry, you're good! Here's the Sega account info screen with each field explained: (If you're not using a Tenso account, just ignore the image and paste in the postal code and address you have chosen.)

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

★ STEP 4: SO CLOSE! Getting your WebMoney voucher code ★

Ok, there are many ways to do this. Feel free to Google it. I have added funds successfully through 2 different methods. Both methods use Paypal as the form of payment, so your money will be protected from fraud, but always be careful when you're buying stuff online. Especially foreign stuff.

Be aware of how much WebMoney you're going to need...

1 WebMoney point = 1 Yen = 1 AC in PSO2

Simple, right? This includes tax and everything!

•Method 1•
Another method is to buy from SuTo Corp here (http://www.sutocorp.com/japanwebmoney/). You pay for your WebMoney code using Paypal, and once your order processes, they E-mail you asking for a scan of your ID or a bill showing your name and address. (I took a snap with my 7MP phone and it worked fine) If you use your ID, be sure to black out the ID# and expiration date. They ONLY need the picture of your ugly mug, name, and address. This method should get you your Webmoney code in 6 or 8 hours. NOTE: Sometimes Suto sells out of codes. If they are sold out, they'll give you the option of getting refunded or waiting until they restock. (Usually 24 hours)

•Method 2 (will cost a little more, but involves less headache)•
If you search eBay for "WebMoney", you can buy it pretty easily. I've used this method several times and usually end up paying about $68 for a 5,000 point code or $135 for a 10,000 point code.

The code will be in a 16-character alphanumeric format. Example: a1b2 c3d4 e5f6 g7h8

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

★ STEP 5: AC AT LAST! ★

1. Go back to the Sega Purchase screen here (https://cha.isao.net/profile_oem/OEMLogin.php?product_name=pso2) and click on "Cash Purchase ARCS (AC)"

2. Choose how much Arks Cash you want to buy (again 1 AC = 1 WebMoney; tax included) and choose "WebMoney" as the payment option.

3. Once you make your selection, you'll be taken to the WebMoney checkout page pictured below. (Use lower menu shown in the image. The upper menu is only for people who have WebMoney accounts.) This will deduct your purchase from the voucher code, which can be reused. (EG: If you use a 5,000 point code to buy 3,000 AC, the code will have 2,000 points left on it and can be used again in the future. DO NOT USE THE SAME CODE ON MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT. Sega are now banning people for this.)
2838
When you see a flashing, orange box, your AC is already waiting for you in PSO2!!!

THAT'S IT! YOU'RE DONE!

ARCHIVED UPDATE: Thanks, *`*jill*`*, for the tip about using AmEx prepaid cards. However, it has been confirmed that AmEx no longer works. Bummer.

ARCHIVED UPDATE: Rhedrimond pointed out that you can use your English name for the Kanji and then convert your English name into kana using Google Translate. This method does not seem to work anymore.

As a heads up, the Sega page DOES accept English names for the first part. I just used full-width alphanumeric to enter my name in English, then translated it into kana for the second part. An alias is not needed.

Interesting. My Visa debit card I got from my employer wouldn't go through, and the ensuing research resulted in this tut. I'll have to try one of those though. That would be very convenient. Plus, taking the middle man out would save money. Edited, credited. Thanks!

Took me most of the night + other things, I've manage to buy some ducking AC. It 6am in the morning, so apologies for the sloppy work beneath me, I am writing it out in memory.

1. http://www.cn-usa.com/?cmd=welcome
2. Register for an account and follow the procedures for it.
3. http://www.cn-usa.com/?cmd=buy&loc=193646 or search for 'Webmoney'.
4. For example: http://www.cn-usa.com/?cmd=_sale&item=Webmoney1000 Then where it says 'Select payment method' I choose 'Paypal checkout'
5. Pay it through PayPal and it all should be good, for now...
6. Check your email address that you registered Paypal / CN-USA or both (I used two different ones.) There should be a message showing a screenshot of your 'Webmoney' with the 16x code with it. This is shown via email or your CN-USA account.
7. I'm not sure if this is for buying webmoney or just to use/have money on your CN-USA but you 'may' have to validate your account. A message would of been sent via email or on CN-USA. I used the Paypal one and the phone activation (You don't talk to anyone, a automated voice just says a 4 number digit :]).
8. After you've done tying all the loose ends (I hope), time to get some AC!!!!
9. https://cha.isao.net/profile_oem/OEMLogin.php?product_name=pso2 and http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/hiragana.htm
10. Once you've logged in. Choose 'webmoney' within the 'Payment method'. After certain number of 'next's'... You'll be directed to webmoney website, where you will have to input that 16x digital, numeral code you got given to you via email/CN-USA. A confirmation will concur that it will work.
11. That's about it, I hope it helps and congratulations on getting some AC!

Now I can go to bed! (^__________^; *Thinking.... Why didn't I buy the 2000wm instead of 1000wm >_____<'';*

I'd like to add that if you bought the 2000 WM one, you'd be given a message on how you're over the limit of your purchase allowance and would need to use other validation methods as the ones they list aren't enough.. (like sutocorp they ask you to take a picture of your bill statement/photo ID or credit card with the 8 first digits blocked out) to get the "maximum purchase limit". Took me about 4-5 hours to get my WM code from them.

I'm not sure if this applies to other payment methods as I used google wallet.

Darki
Aug 19, 2012, 06:17 AM
I've been using CN-USA, and you do get the codes instantly once you go through the validation process. You don't even need to have a WM account, so for me it's a much easier method to buy AC.

For the capcha just use this software keyboard and copy/paste the hiragana (yes they changed it from Katakana to Hiragana, and there's also a time limit) into the box.

Link: http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/hiragana.htm

This makes entering the capcha MUCH easier.

It's been like 6 months since I made it, but most of the information is still valid. The only thing in it I can think of that is wrong is that the CAPTCHA uses Katakana now instead of Hiragana. (Or rather, WAS wrong because I just updated it.)

Give it a try. If you have trouble, feel free to PM me. I'm on here all the time.

The people on this forum are very helpful. If you have a hard time with the CAPTCHA, even after reading the thread I have linked in the OP (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203925), you can probably just share the CAPTCHA image under the Quick Questions thread (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195866) and see if someone will solve it for you.

Still, always try to get better at doing them yourself. Even I have to try 2 or 3 times once in a while, so don't get discouraged!

Yes, that's definitely relevant to this thread.

Honestly, I don't know. I don't remember what the website says you have to do to prove your identity. I just remember that taking a snap of my ID and blotting out the actual license # was the easiest method for me. If you have a cell phone and a photo Id, it's the only way to fly.

Off track here a bit but...Honestly, it's much easier to get a few hundred thousand Meseta than getting costumes in the AC Scratch that you want... just saying, plus not sure if I'm right on this or not but I don't think you can get Blitz Ace in the AC Scratch at the moment (That's Afin's outfit right?) ^^;

AmEx is rumored to work. But only the kind you order online that actually has your name on it (https://www.americanexpress.com/us/content/prepaid/american-express-prepaid-card/home.html). I have one now, so I'll probably be trying it out before Monday. Gotta get my lazy ass out and buy a refill card for it. haha

You should never aim to get anything you actually want from the AC scratch. It should be used to get stuff you can sell in your player shop. (so obviously, premium is needed) Then, you can use the millions of Meseta you earn to buy the stuff you want. You're paying 200 yen for a random item from this list (http://pso2.jp/players/catalog/scratch/ac/20130123/), and the chances of getting anything you actually like are abysmal. haha

So, I have webmoney. I log in to my Sega account, go to purchase AC, and I'm confronted by a page asking me to put in my address, phone number, and so on ... as well as my name in katakana. I have a feeling this is where Tenso steps in, and I took care of that, but I don't understand the address. I fear inputting this incorrectly, and Sega suspending my account or something.

Also, how do I make katakana of my name? I didn't quite understand the original instructions.

Nikoshae

I figured out an alias, got the katakana for it ... everything looked fine on that page ... but when I go to proceed (the bottom left button) I get this error:

And I cannot translate it. What does it mean?

Edit: I think I figured it out. I was putting my name in English in the first two boxes. I need a Kanji alias, but ... I don't know how to make one ~_~;;

So I tried purchasing Webmoney from SuToCorp three times already and they keep refunding my orders because my PayPal is "unverified." Don't know how much information I can put in it to be verified as I already put in my full name, address and Credit Card information in it. I even sent them a picture of my ID with my address. =\

Ichipoo
Mar 21, 2013, 08:24 AM
Yes it does, I think the reason why my PayPal is still considered "unverified" is because I haven't linked my bank account to it yet, I've only linked it to my credit and debit cards, yet that isn't enough?

Terrence
Mar 21, 2013, 10:01 AM
You have to let Paypal take a small amount of money from you and once you receive your statement, a code next to Paypal withdrawal has to be copied on your Paypal account to verify/certify your account (you're refunded shortly after, of course) !

I was trying to purchase Webmoney through Sutocorp, but I want to use a visa gift card. Paypal is lame and doesn't actually let you use gift cards... for anything really, so I was wondering if there was any methods I could use to make this work in my favor. Answers appreciated.

Why didn't I buy the 2000wm instead of 1000wm >_____<'';*

ok im trying this method but it says i have to verify but the site links to go to the verification pages wont work someone help me plz.

I had trouble with the verification links, but just sent them a "increase my spending limit" message on Live support and it was increased an hour and a half later. Now I didn't use Tenso, so I'm kinda stuck on using an address for Sega's registration page after choosing Webmoney. ^^;

So I just tried to buy the money from SuTo, and even though they had taken my money, I got refunded for whatever reason. They didn't explain why in the e-mail. Any ideas why?

Zaven
Apr 4, 2013, 06:41 AM
Hello, there are two reasons for that, that i can think of.

The first being stock rupture, wich is probably not the case because i bought a code last night.

The other one is that if you never sent them your IDscan , they will refund the money and send you an email asking you to send the IDscan then do an order again.

Have you been asked for an IDscan, is this your first purchase at SuToCorp?
In any case, the guy is very understanding and you should have no problem getting through this, so no worries.

Edit : I'm curious about the Email, it just says "we refunded your paiment" and that's it? Never got something like that from them and i use them for a year now :/

Edit : Oh, and don't hesitate to contact him. He WILL answer to you, he always does. Let me get the address for you just in case but you can just hit reply on your email.

Edit : [email protected]

Keep us informed please.

---------------------------------------

Edit : This is a mail i received a long time ago.

Konichiwa Zaven,

Thank you for your email.

Please resend your scanned ID using your REGISTERED PAYPAL EMAIL.

Thank you again and looking forward to hear from you.
--------------------------------------------------
Best regards
SuToCorp Customer Service

So if you DID send an ID but not from your paypal email but from a different address (like you have an adress for paiment and an address for gaming), then that too could be a reason for your refund.

Doomlion
Apr 4, 2013, 08:33 AM
I didn't get any e-mail to send them an ID. Do I just send it to some e-mail address?

Zaven
Apr 4, 2013, 08:44 AM
No, i suggest that you simply ask them what is happening. Waiting for an answer is not something enjoyable but again, they will tell you why you got refund.

I'm sorry but i don't think you can gain time by doing something before asking them what is happening. Sending the ID might speed up the thing if that's the reason but i can't recommand someone to send his IDscan just like that if it is not asked.
Also, once they will answer to you, i'm pretty sure things will go very fast because that is just how they work. Well, it always has in my case. I waited for them to get my email, but then we could fix the issue right away (like when i sent my ID card because they asked, i then got my code right away).

Good luck and keep us informed.

Edit : you have a verified paypal account right? otherwise you would have tell me. I'm talking specificaly about the part when paypal charges you a dollar or two (can't remember) then refunds it, this is done for security check. The thing is, THIS process from paypal can take a few days, because you have to check the paiment on your bank account and there will be a code to type on the paypal site. If you never done this, that could be the reason.
If i'm not wrong, that is the definition of a verified paypal account and sutocorp is strict on this point, you need a verified account. Although, i'm not sure the paiment would have been made in the first place if that was the problem, but im not sure about that.

Edit : Send your mail to : [email protected]

suto seem to refuse to sell 10,000 webmoney even though they list a price, and when I e-mailed them essentially their reply boiled down to "Deal with it"

I really wish there were more TRUSTABLE options and at decent prices, CN-USA is awful for price and trust (I've used them in the past, when I had problems they just didn't care). Sutocorp seems to be the same, just cheaper because you're paying directly in yen.

I haven't really encountered a problem with sutocorp; they did run out of codes yesterday and they emailed me asking if I want a refund or if I was willing to wait, since I spend the weekdays at work anyway, I didn't mind waiting it out. I got back home from work tonight and got the email with the codes so yeah if anything just buy 5000 points increments instead. Also, Paypal converts the Yen to your currency, I paid about $59 for my latest purchase.

There are many places where they sell Webmoney to foreigner, but some are expensive and some got long annoying verification procedure... hard to choose where to buy.

And on top of that nowadays fraud are common on internet.

Has anyone verified The American Express Prepaid Card yet?
Also on Tenso, on the My Page It shows:

"From 1st April 2013 Japanese law has changed to require all forwarding companies such as Tenso.com to obtain proof of identity from their users. The legislation detailing these changes is known as the 'Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds'."

Will this affect anything or do I just ignore it?

I make a tenso account yesturday and bought some webmoney and had no problem redeeming it and using that address for my sega account. I did not give them an ID either. I think you need to give them an ID if you are going to buy something to get it shipped there. However you do need to give an ID for sutocorp for buying webmoney.

So I'm just now getting around to posting about it, but I DID get t to go through. Just to clarify since this guide is a bit outdated. I'll put up all the steps on this one that I used and that were relevant to my method that I used to get AC.

THIS METHOD ALSO USES PAYPAL, SO IF YOU HAVE ONE, MAKE SURE YOU'RE CARD/ACCOUNT IS VERIFIED! OTHERWISE IT WILL TAKE AWHILE TO RECEIVE THE AC.

1.) Make a Tenso Account, this is definitely needed to use on the PSO website once you log in to purchase the AC.

2.) You'll need an Account on CN-USA as well.
---> http://www.cn-usa.com/?cmd=welcome

3.) After making an account on CN-USA you can either search "Webmoney" or just click here: http://www.cn-usa.com/?cmd=buy&loc=193646

4.) After purchasing WebMoney using Paypal, You should eventually get an email providing you with the Pin Number to the WebMoney you just bought.

5.) 9. Now for the hard part.... Time to actually get into the PSO Website... https://cha.isao.net/profile_oem/OEM...duct_name=pso2
And here for the Capcha: http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/hiragana.htm

6.) Don't forget to get a JP alias, which is explained in the main post on Page 1.

7.) Once you've logged in. Choose 'webmoney' within the 'Payment method'. After certain number of 'next's'... You'll be directed to webmoney website, where you will have to input that 16x digital, numeral code you got given to you via email/CN-USA. A confirmation will concur that it will work.

8.) That should be it! Enjoy your Premium/Outfits/Storage Space/Ect.

I Myself have confirmed this method to work. It may be different for countries outside of the US. Thanks to LionHeart- for a lot of the steps I used. I just added a couple of them that he didn't include. Have fun guys, hope this helped, at least a little bit.

To make things a bit easier, just checkout using google pay which takes most credit card no matter where you're from, AFAIK. There's no need to have a webmoney or tenso account when you pay with google. Use that code directly in the SEGA site to add AC into your account.

If it's your first time buying from CN you will have to do some sort of verification. IIRC, they'll send you an automated phone call or text with a pin number. Once you do that, you should be good to go and have your code in a matter of minutes.

You'll need a tenso account info to register WebMoney regardless as Sega needs that info for billing when purchasing AC. A WebMoney account if you want to split the AC among different accounts.

As for verification, using Google Checkout doesn't need verification and will allow you to bypass the verification process.

This is the part where you fill in your jpns adress I take it? I had no idea it was called a tenso account as it's not mentioned in the bumped buying guide that I saw.

You'll have to fill this out if you're a first time buyer.

I'm not sure what I just read here.

CN has to verify you on your first purchase. Google has nothing to do with it. Once you've passed that step, you will never have to bother with that again. Any future code purchases you will have in your CN account (check order history) in 1-2minutes.

Not that I condone hacking, but you can also disable the JavaScript validation (remove the onclick event from the submit button element using Inspector on Chrome) in chrome on the Submit button for the name/address form. I am running into a server post back error complaining about my last name though. This bypasses a giant complaint list alert, so maybe Last name is just the first of the server side errors :) Anyways, might be helpful.

I tried using all english values, except my phone number for my zip code. Also tried translating/swapping my first/last name and gave up because I dont know what I am buying.

What is AC used for?

Do they actually ship anything to the address?

Thanks!

AC is for for cash shop related items and AC scratch.

Items that cost AC range from additional mags, inventory space expansion, tickets, etc.

AC scratch for the much coveted clothing, hair, lobby actions, accessories as well as grind reductions, element change tickets and so on.

This is still not needed. Get a random address and use that. There's no need to go to tenso and make an account. I see people telling other people that they "have" to make accounts in places. It's not necessary. At least not when it come to buying WM from CN.

It's a standard requirement that CN asks for before you get your first code. I've gone through this process with a few friends buying AC for the first time. If they've changed their ways, I'm not aware of that.

To be on the safe side, it's better to have an actual address in the off chance Sega actually looks at the info and needs to confirm it. Haphazardly entering a made up address makes you look more suspicious.

It's a standard requirement that CN asks for before you get your first code. I've gone through this process with a few friends buying AC for the first time. If they've changed their ways, I'm not aware of that.
This was quite some time ago, about a month or two after PSO2 was out of beta that I had purchased AC without needing to verify. As I said in quote, it needed me to verify just last month for purchasing WebMoney.

Whens this damn maintenance outage window over? 3am? I only have time to play at night :(
In about 2 hours of this post. Normally. Could be longer. Possibly.

I never said it's required to make the CN account, it IS however, needed for the PSO2 Website, since it requires a JPN address. If you guys find another way to get a JPN address, more power to you. However, it takes maybe 5 minutes to make a Tenso account, so why not just bite the bullet?

I should have put use a "real" random jpns address I suppose. I wasn't suggesting people to make a fake one.

Google anything in japan and you'll find an address in less time without having to create anything. And btw, they have your IP address so they know where you're connecting from ( as in not in JP unless you're using a VPN). They know you're not in JP. Just use a "real" random address and you should be ok.

If the recommended retailer on the site is anything to go by, it'll be the same as buying a game card at a local gas station or grocery store. Base amount+sales tax.

1 WM pt is equal to 1 yen, so 1000 WM pts are 1000 yen.
The mark up we pay, is basically a brokerage fee, which covers additional fees like paypal, credit card surcharges aso, and of course some profit.

This is probably the fastest way to get WM codes as far as I know. You will have to verify your location at first if they still do that. After that when you buy from them again there's an instant buy option and if you use google check out, you'll have your code in a few seconds.

I bought AC yesterday and from what I did it should work if you do it through Webmoney.

1. Make a Webmoney Account
2. Add Funds too it
3. When you go to buy AC choose Webmoney and sign in and it will only take out that amount from your account so you should be able to use 2 different accounts to take it from there.

Bumping it just in case =)

It is important to remember for the tensu half width and full width numeric. If it is full it doesn't go through, so use the narrower numbers by looking at the big Tenso numbers, typing them with IME activated, then hit enter and scroll to the smaller ones. Keep the TS or whatever full width. But... I have the maintenance work message -_-

Getting this error on the SEGA site when trying to register the address info from Tenso.

http://i.imgur.com/HvKM66z.png

It's been a while since I had to do that, but it looks like it might be an error with the name you're using. You sure you're using full-width characters? You can't type your name normally like "Perry James", you have to type it like "Perry James". Does that make sense?

If it does make sense and you have indeed tried it the correct way, you may need to simply use a Japanese alias. Here's the one I've been telling people to use:

Names are listed like this:
Surname / Given name

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Romaji: (This is just for your reference. You won't register with this)
Shin / Shoiji

Kanji:
新 / 庄司

Katakana (phonetic):
シン / ショウジ

Let me know how if you get more/different error messages.

I have heard of people having issues even when using full-width Roman characters. Try replacing both the Kanji and phoenetic names with the Japanese alias I included in the guide:

Romaji: (This is just for your reference. You won't register with this)
Shin / Shoiji

Kanji:

Katakana (phonetic):

Using an alias shouldn't hurt anything. I'm using one myself. Let me know if that works.

I wonder if it has been posted, but perhaps trying to use a VISA or Mastercard prepaid credit card might work instead of American Express (AE)?
I know why they dropped AE support. AE as a company has been notorious for being hostile/unfriendly to smaller businesses and charging absurd fees for using their card. That's why most merchants don't even bother accepting it.
I honestly wish they'd just go DIAFF as we're just fine with VISA/Mastercard. Discover has those fancy rewards, however those rewards come from the pockets of merchants and they pass those on to you (and everyone else) via higher prices; thus it really doesn't benefit anyone!

CN-USA is a reliable site, despite what the poorly translated Engirsh might make you think. I spent several hundred dollars on Cera for DnF a few years ago, and they always sent the codes instantly; never had any problems with faulty codes or anything. They do mark up the cards quite a bit over what a native Japanese player would pay, but all of these sites do that.

What's a good way to get an address to use for this besides making a Tenso account? I'm thinking about transferring ships.

Instant and easy, use paypal.

Also when I bought 3k AC from sutocorp, it costs $39.77 ($38, but extra because of currency conversion).

Great write-up! I already have a verified Paypal so that was not an issue and sent in my photo ID asap to Sutocorp.

Sutocorp takes a bit longer to get the WM code. If you don't already have a verified Paypal you'll have to wait for that first, and send in a photo ID.

CN-USA costs a bit more, but I received my code immediately without needing a photo ID.

I think for a quick one-time purchase CN-USA is easier if you want your AC NOW. Sutocorp over the long-term though is cheaper if you don't mind waiting.

*CN-USA does eventually need a photo ID & copy of your credit card / statement for verification - you can block out most of it.

I'm really happy with CN-USA, they do cost slightly more than anyone else, but the delivery is instant. There is a bit of a headache once you reach a "Buying Limit" and they'll need to verify your email, phone, location via Google Maps, ID, and credit card #.

Getting of the information together is a bit of a hassle, but they verify it almost instantly. I have made multiple purchases from them now and don't mind paying a few extra dollars ~$3 over sutocorp to have instant delivery. Every once in a while they'll want to re-verify my geolocation, but I receive the WM email instantly after logging into Google for that.

In short, you have my thanks for saving me from a possible ban.

And I'm going to refer this guide to my friends who are willing to purchase AC, so hopefully you don't mind. :D

Log into your Sega Account and select the Web Money payment type, it will eventually take you to a screen where you can enter the Web Money code.

I tried to buy some webmoney yesterday and I was told to email or fax them a Photo-ID card and both front and back of my credit card. Is this common when buying from a foreign website?

The website is as follows:

http://www.play-asia.com/

It seems like we have to go through a lot of hoops to buy AC.

Almost every website require some kind of ID verification. Sutocorp and CN-USA both require something similar.

Yes, a photo ID is often required. I sent mine to Sutocorp and had no trouble with it at all.

If you're skittish about E-mailing a picture of your ID, you can always go the eBay route. It's a little bit of a markup, but it's virtually headache-free, and sometimes faster than Sutocorp.

When you log in to cha.isao.net, specifically through the PSO2 Account Management Page (https://cha.isao.net/profile_oem/OEMLogin.php?product_name=pso2), you will see an option to purchase AC called "Cash Purchase ARCS (AC)". It will only appear in English if you're using the Google Chrome web browser. If you aren't using Google Chrome, god help you.

Have your WebMoney code and Tenso account handy before clicking that link. At some point during your first purchase, the website will ask you for your personal information (address, etc). That information comes from your Tenso, as pictured.

Well, I`m sort of lost now. Can`t figure now, what use the WM account will be, if we still buy pre-paid WM voucher to add money? Isn`t it the same as buying with that voucher said cash?

My first thought was, that account will allow to be refilled from ordinary credit card, but no, it demands mobile e-mail, etc... and we still have to use pre-paid cards.

Basically, you don't need a Web Money account. You can simply use the WebMoney voucher code you bought from eBay/Sutocorp/etc to buy AC.

The only reason this guide explains how to make a WebMoney account is because I used to think it was necessary, but learned later it was not. I figured there was no reason to fully remove the information, so I left it up for reference.

I edited the section on WebMoney accounts, so hopefully it'll be a little more clear to others who read it.

Let me know if you have any other issues.

AC costumes are limited to scratch only. Your luck is decided by the games already terrible RNG.

Or checking the players shop alternatively.

Does the entire library of costumes cycle around this scratch rotation? It'd be so much easier just to buy what I wanted w/AC.

So, my Kanji name is:

Perry James

Then, I translate "Perry James" from English to Japanese using Google Translate to get my phonetic name:

ペリー ジェームズ

(Google Translate gave me the translation without spaces. If you aren't comfortable with kana characters, just translate each name separately. Remember, your last name in English will be your first name in Japanese.)
I tried using English letters for my kanji name but it didn't seem to like that very much. Should I just go ahead and come up with some random Japanese alias instead? Does Sega ever actually ban anyone for inputting a false name?

This guide really worked wonders for me. I thought it would be impossible to ever get anything good on this game.

I don't think a Webmoney account is really needed, because if you just buy codes from retailers (JPWM, SutoCorp, CN-USA, Playasia), you can see recent AC redemption on the Japanese login page.

A lot of people have had trouble getting the full-width Roman characters to work. You should be fine using a Japanese alias. In fact, I'm using one.

I included one alias in the guide for people who are feeling lazy, but the safest way is to simply create your own. If you have trouble getting it to accept your alias, or if you don't know how get kanji and phonetic names that match, just post here and I'll help.

Correct, a WebMoney account is not necessary. The guide actually says so in multiple places, including the WebMoney account creation segment. (which is only included for reference)

Still, thanks for the feedback. Hearing that the guide is helping people motivates me to keep maintaining it, and to keep working on my other tutorial projects.

No, if you already have an address linked, you probably don't need Tenso. I usually recommend that you just try to buy AC and see if it lets you. Then, if it stops you and asks for an address, that's when Tenso comes into play.

sorta- I think the hassle I was giving myself was I trying to fill credit information about needing a mobile email that I didn't really have to do. insteadj just buy points and put it to my account [which I made account that's not a problem]

but the last problem I think I have now is..prices. suto has cheapest ya for 1,000 points. but honestly all I want to do is buy 500 AC. [nothing more] for the need of ship transferring my character and I don't want to carry extra AC or money around [that I can only use for AC anyway]

I hear u said some sort of method where u can share points with a friend If you made purchase? is that possible to do with suto.

Yes, you can share a code with a friend. It's very simple. Just buy a 1000 point code from Sutocorp and spend 500 of it on AC. The amount is subtracted from your code, and the remaining 500 points will stay on it. Just let your friend use the same code again to spend the remaining points.

Last time I checked, it was 700 AC to change ships, not 500. Has the price gone down, or could you just be a little mixed up?

You change ships on the character select screen.

Side note: When you change ships, everything about your character will be moved over, including your inventory. However, your bank, your player shop, and (I think) your room will be left behind. (Transferring will not cause you to lose premium status; that carries over to all ships.) Make sure you have all of your important items on you before transferring.

Unfortunately, no news on whether the ship-change price has changed permanently. I'll post here once I know something.

As for your second question, I'm pretty sure that arranging real-money transactions on PSOW is against the rules. They have good reason for banning it though; RMT can be dangerous if you aren't dealing with people you know and trust.

I bought the 2000 Webmoney from Play-Asia a couple of days ago for 30 days Premium and I got the code and everything, worked with no problems on my end (I'm a UK resident too.), arrived to my email in a matter of minutes.

They're a good seller, can be just slow at times according to feedback on the items.

Is there a way to not use paypal and buy from play-asia? I haven't tried yet because I still want to take the same route everyone else has taken. Paypal is taking awhile to confirm my identity (the last missing piece to the puzzle of getting my account complete) and it's become a hassle to make a paypal account in general. If it wasn't for pso2 I would probably never make a paypal account.

In any case, all payment method requires you to verify your address or ID at some stage, like when you apply for a credit card, set up a moneybooker or paypal account. Not sure about western union, iirc that was popular for money laundering, so they have higher fees and you are actually sending money, not paying/buying anything, in a sense.

I have a question about the 11 item costume scratch card: ACスクラッチゴールド券 (AC Scratch Gold Ticket)

When you buy this, what costumes are possibly available? Does it randomly choose from all costumes? Or only from the ones currently available for the lesser AC counts? Or is there some other method?

Thank you for your message. Termination of membership can happen for various reasons, but most often it is because the member is commiting suspicious activity on their account. We have systems in place to detect credit card fraud and other abusive use of our service and in such situations will terminate membership, as written in our terms of use, available to read when users sign up as a new member. Mistakes do happen however, and we read the emails our users send to recitfy problems if they arise.

The identity verification procedures are a requirement of Japanese law. All forwarding services operating in Japan must abide by them, and if you are using a service who does not ask you the verify your identity, that company is operating illegally and we would advise you to be very careful if you continue using their service. We fully agree with you that the requirement for verifying the identity of our users is a hurdle and if we could choose, we would not impose it. Indeed, we operated for many years before the law changed without any need for identity verification. We can only ask our customers for their understanding in that we must comply with Japanese law in order to offer our services. well... great... I guess i'll expect my PSO2 SEGA ID to die soonish?
I guess I'll make a new one if it happens. But this will be demoralizing to say the least.

I followed this guide and it worked. So first of all, thanks!

Hey, sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I should check this thing more.

The costumes that are available change every now and then. You can see the official list of available items here (http://pso2.jp/players/catalog/scratch/), or you can always ask in the Quick Questions thread (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213385) if you're looking for a particular item/wanting to know which scratches will give the best items.

Hey, long time lurker chiming in to say that your guide worked great! Used SuTo and Play-Asia and I got my AC! Thanks for the great guide!

Thanks for the feedback! Always glad to hear it's working for people!

[SPOILER-BOX]I believe the guide works well as presented.

but...

I got this from Tenso just tonight...

Thank you for using our service.

Unfortunately, we have been forced to terminate your membership
under Article 8-7 of our Terms of Service.

We are not able to disclose the reason for this termination,
but if you believe it to be in error, please contact our customer support team.

And this is within days of my recent webmoney and AC purchase, too.
I should read that section of their ToS, just to see what broke.
But I was hoping to use them because I wanted some mobile phone charms shipped in time for christmas presents to my friends.
Bought my WebMoney digitally from PlayAsia, used tenso for shipping address as instructed. I wanted to take advantage of it while I have a forwarding address in japan, but it seems they think I'm just up to no good regarding my own identity.
I sent an inquiring e-mail since I really want to get the mobile phone charms, too...
got this... with very little means of resolution.

When you do submit your documents for identity, feel free to blank out all information except your name, date of birth and current address to protect your privacy. We only need to verify these three things from an official form of ID.

If you have specific concerns or questions, our customer support team would be happy to address them for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

I skimmed that message, but Tenso are just people who sell WebMoney codes. If they refuse to sell them to you, you can always go somewhere else like eBay or PlayAsia to get them. Tenso have no control over your PSO2 account and characters, so you're safe. :)

Edit:
Also, I went ahead and did a few minor updates as long as I'm on here:

-Updated color-coded CAPTCHA image to an image using hiragana, instead of katakana like the old CAPTCHAs did
-Added Syklo's name to the CAPTCHA guide link

Hmm, did you used the tenso address on your play-asia account? Because if you did, you should not have done it. Play-asia is based in Hong Kong, Tenso is a japanese forwarding services located in japan. If you used a credit card with playasia and your tenso address, it will look suspicious and your credit card company/bank will look into these kind of things and ask around.

No. I used play-asia for webmoney digita codes alone. sorry for the vague info in my previous post.

For Tenso, I used it for SEGA ID address as instructed in the guide. I also used it at GenkiBack, a local store which sells mobile phone and accessories so when tenso receives it for me, I can get nice straps for late christmas presents to friends when it arrives to my doorstep. I'm still asking tenso now what would happen to my straps now that they killed my account. Though, I'm using my paypal to pay for tenso services... i thought that wouldn't matter to SEGA?

Hey this guide helped a ton. I just finished manually entering all my Tenso information on the SEGA ID and now im just waiting for my webmoney code to come in from Play-Asia. Just a question, when i input my address from tenso do i include the TS###### part at the end? Not sure if that would look suspicious or not. And would you reccomend following through with sending Tenso your identification? I dont plan to actually use tenso to buy anything but i wasnt sure if they would close your account after a certain time if you didnt use the service/ didnt have the proof of identity set up

Edit: The reason im asking is that the poster above looks like his account got terminated related to the lack of proof of identification (At least thats what it sounds like to me) But in his/her case they actually used tenso to purchase something else.

So I've followed all of the guide but when I beat the capta code to login to my Sega account I can't see any place to add my address to my account.

Is it no longer needed to add an address? I can click the purchase AC button and get to the amount I want and payment option perfectly fine.

It's supposed to interrupt you at some point during your first AC purchase and ask for your address. If it doesn't, that's no problem; just makes your life a little bit easier!

Okay cool, also do you know of any other legit and trusted sites to buy WebMoney points/card from other than Ebay? I'm kind of inpatient and hate waiting for items to be delivered so being emailed the codes is better for me.

Actually, nearly everyone on eBay will send you the codes in an eBay private message when you purchase them. Usually within 24 hours of your purchase. You can always read the description and/or send them a message before buying to be sure, but I've never heard of anyone actually mailing out the cards.

Suto E-mails the code to you. It should be sent in less than 24 hours. If it isn't for some reason, E-mail their support; they're usually pretty helpful.

Here's the TOS text for Article 8-7:

(7) In the event that the Company deems the relevant party to be ineligible for membership for any other reason .

They should disclose the reason as shutting down your account and saying they aren't able to disclose it is suspicious.

Sincerely,

Steps 1 - 3 are no longer necessary, and can be removed entirely.

Oh, nice, that's good to hear! I'll rewrite the guide and make everything neat some time soon.

This part:

should be removed ASAP, as SEGA has starting flagging accounts that share webmoney codes, and banning them under "suspicious activity".

Will do, I'll edit that immediately.

According to AIDA, they aren't confirming the addresses, so you can try registering with any Japanese address, like Sega HQ, or a KFC or something.

If you decide to get your own Tenso address like I did, the country you're forwarding to should be the country that you live in, not Japan.

GUIDE UPDATED: January 24th, 2014
•The guide has been majorly rewritten, and irrelevant information has been removed
•Added "Easy method" for choosing Japanese address
•Removed information about translating your name into Japanese. IT NO LONGER WORKS!
•Completely removed WebMoney registration from the guide, as it is unnecessary and was being included for reference only
•Removed information on sharing WebMoney codes with friends. SHARING CODES CAN NOW GET YOUR ACCOUNT BANNED!
(Thanks to AIDA for letting me know the guide needed updating.)
