Hi everyone :) I'm newly registered, though I have visited this site quite a bit over the years. I played PSO on the Dreamcast as a Japanese import, eventually picking up the US release once it was available. I have not had much success in getting hooked on some of the newer versions of PSO. For me, it was will always be the magic of the Dreamcast... *sigh*

I have a question. I am selling items on eBay which may be of interest to this community, where would be a safe and appropriate place to post a link about such sales? I will await a reply from an admin or mod before proceeding.

I really want my collection to go to fellow players/collectors who will cherish these items as much as I have over the years. Thank you for your time :)

The site doesn't really advocate advertising and sales between members of the community. So far as I understand, the best way to do such would be to put any links or relevant information into your signature and then post like a regular member. Check the tab at the top of the site which says "FAQ/Rules", then click on Forum Rules and read through that. Should have all the relevant information you need.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome, everyone! :) I took your suggestion about adding a link to my signature, hopefully that is in compliance with the rules. Thank you so much for the advice and guidance! This seems like a very nice community.

The item I would think would be of greatest interest to everyone here is my El Rappy plush. I purchased it directly from Cospa back in the day and now I'm looking for a happy new home for him (or is it female? not sure...)

Normally I'd feel like a cad trying to promote my own sales, but I feel like this forum would really want to know about such a rare item being up for sale. As a fellow collector, I know I'd appreciate the heads up.

I really hope a hardcore PSO fan wins him. He deserves a loving new home. And plushie buddies to play with wouldn't hurt a bit. ;-)

Sinue_v2 put it well. You cannot advertise through threads or posts, but you may place a link within your signature. The forum rules link helps a lot.

Yes, thank you very much :) I appreciate all of the friendly help and guidance from everyone here. I see this is a wonderful community to be a part of.

I do have another question about the sale of merchandise. Since PS and PSO items tend to be incredibly rare, is there a thread which discusses them? I don't know if I overlooked it or if it just doesn't exist. But I know player's guides, soundtracks, apparel, and so on can be tricky to come by. And I've noticed the members of this forum are highly knowledgeable about the minutia of the PS universe and lexicon. I'd love to get some input, advice, and information from collectors who know a great deal about the PS catalog, as it were. I'm not sure what all exists out there but I would love to learn more! Any threads or topics out there that can help educate me more?

That sounds like it would make for a really interesting thread. I suggest making a thread about the subject over in the Off Topic forum. I know I remember seeing some other threads in the past concerning certain member's personal PS swag collections.

I'm actually very surprised to see that he is not going for very much yet. As the hours wind down, I'm starting to get very nervous. Last year, I sold an Espio the Chameleon plush for over $500. This plush is rarer than Espio but you can never predict the market.

Is PSO not as popular as Sonic the Hedgehog? That's probably true, considering how many different versions there are of Sonic (video games, cartoons, etc). But I consider PSO to be a game enjoyed by a slightly older/more mature crowd than Sonic. And, as such, I figured those fans would have fatter wallets. Am I wrong in this assumption? Most likely. I'm probably romanticizing the franchise because I like it.

Either way, I excitedly anticipated a bid war long before now but nothing has really happened. What a bummer. I also cannot find any evidence of one selling in the recent past, so I cannot gauge the desirability/current value of this little guy. I know of very few people who actually own one, so it's hard to decipher.

Anyone know? Anyone have any expert advice or input they can provide? What is this little dude worth? Comments are welcome!

The PS series as a whole isn't as supported nor is it as wide spread in the west. The series is mainly popular in Japan due to the number of sponsors the game has as well as events and items based off of some products.

Outside of Japan the series takes a bit of a downturn with lack of advertising and sponsorship making it difficult to get the game renown in a market that heavily relies on a niche playerbase.

From your post, it just seems you're more interested on cashing in on the series by mentioning Espio sold for $500 and expected more out of a plush that has little recognition outside of Japan.
