So I deleted my hunter and restarted a new human character. I want to play as all classes. I am starting out as a ranger. My question is if I were to just level the mags ability what would that do? Would that be beneficial to all 3 classes. Or should I just go with a pure ranger mag to start out with. What all stats are exactly needed for a good ranger mag. Sorry I'm new to ranger but I really enjoyed playing it on my other character. Any advice would help. I have looked on the pso2wiki and I know all the different mags but I don't understand the whole ability stat. Thanks for any help.

And I know there's more info out there on probably this exact stuff but with work and the little time I have I thought I would just post a thread.

Ability increases minimal damage, while Atk stats increase maximum damage.

Example: Attack with no extra ability doing 100-250
same Attack with extra ability doing 150-250

In other words, it helps the random number range be more compact.

I think it makes more sense to just say it increases your minimum damage.

specialising in all 3 classes is really hard to do since you usually need around 80 more s/r/t-atk for a rare. the way to get around that is to put points in the skill tree for the respective stats i guess. mag wise the only beneficial stat to all is ability so either go full ability or add a bit of base stats here and their to be able to equip weapons and armors on all 3 classes. easiest way to manage having 3+ classes is to buy a mag for each, and mags aren't too expensive so you're fine.

I'm thinking that the best MAG once the cap comes off and lets us go to lvl 200 will be something like...

50 damage stat
50 in each defense stat

Though I'd like to see a ratio of Strike/Range/Tech attacks by enemies so we can judge which is the most needed
