This is the first problem i have encountered with this game.

I'm not sure if this is caused from the game gaurd update or not but i just patched the file (s) from last nights maintenance and added the friendly neighbor hood en patch (like i always do)

pso2 launcher loads up fine game gaurd starts fine but when the pso2 window opens there is no video, yet i can hear audio of the sega and intro video. Then if i click like i usually do to skip intro it just sits at a black screen with no audio.

also note after it patched i accidentally added the 9/12 update, then i added the en patch and ran the game and encounter said problem.

What i have tried thus far to no avail:

Deleting the files that were added in patch from last night
note: when i first check the win 32 folder there were 2 files with today's date but when it re patched there was only one.

Applying the permission fix patch

Any idea and or suggestions?

Also all my video drivers and such are up to date.

Edit: i just noticed the pso2.exe updated also so i removed it from the folder to let it update it again still same problem.

Problem resolved

apparently the patcher did not give me all the files as i had a friend send me all the files he got from the patch and i was a few files short.

Could this be because i manually updated the last huge patch?

SEGA mentioned before that because of the congestion during the last major patch, some people might have incomplete downloads. They advised everyone facing problems ever since the patch to do a File Check so that the patcher would download the missing files.

I don't know about that if you did a manual update though.

That depends on the quality of the files that you used to update. If whoever gave the files didn't check if they were OK, then it is possible that you ended up with bad files there.

But when I updated the game on the 12th, I ended up with 32 files that were incomplete. There was one that was supposed to be >100MB that only had 7MB downloaded. The problem is the updater doesn't check files after downloading to see if they are ok, so if you have any doubts, it is best to keep doing a file check until it doesn't download anything else. Also, the update on the 12th updated a few files outside of the win32 directory, so if whoever gave you the files only grabbed the win32 directory, then things would go badly.

Hi, I also have this black screen with audio problem... does it mean that pso2 has a different installer for 64 bit and 32 bit?

PSO2 is a 32 bit application regardless. So no.

Try doing a file check since the most likely problem is that your game files are corrupted.

My friend just copied my folder files and runs the game just fine... He has win7 32 bit though

I'm now currently doing a file check...

Ok...i figured it out...to do the system file checker, click the 3rd button down once you double click on the launcher.

also, its worth noting that this fixed my issue. However, when i copied and pasted the english patch files back into the directory, it stopped working again. i guess there is an issue with the patch file.

Are you using the lastest one, the previous one is outdated, get it from the website where you usually get it at.
