Not sure if this is the right place to post this.

So this one is dying pretty fast, blue screening every other time I try to play PSO2. 4 year old VAIO whatever-series and can't run the game for squat on a good day anyways. So I went laptop hunting. These are some comps that caught my eye (price range is preferably under $1k).

Leaning more towards the Qosmio ATM. I'm welcome to any other suggestions. And thanks beforehand.

May be good to double check that first ASUS you listed. The graphics card seems like it might be insufficient (I'm lazy and don't want to go figuring it out, I hate trying to compare GPUs) - there's a difference between GT and GTX with Nvidia cards iirc.

Apparently the GTX 4xx can preform just as well as the 6xx series. Just runs hotter.

And I know this is the 8 series but this may help for the GT vs GTS vs GTX issue.

The Qosmio and Lenovo are the good two i see from the selection i see there, the Qosmio has specs somewhat higher than the Lenovo and a power saving gpu along with it as well.

Ordered the Qosmio; it had some "discrepancies with the information provided" that I ironed out (I don't have another phone number besides my cell, I'm a foreign student you dolts). It'll hopefully arrive within 10 days.

^ i ended up ordering the Qosmio as well just now. the price was just to hard to pass up.
my total ended up @ $1166 (with tax included); i upgraded the harddrive to 1tb + added the carrying case with free mouse.
i'm gonna buy the cooling for it as well on amazon. the ones on the Toshiba site was a little pricey.

delivery estimate of 12/07/2012, next Friday. cant wait for this beastly laptop! ^ ^

That was my original estimated arrival date as well. Dunno about now, the customer service folks said I'd get an email with my arrival date within a couple of business days.

yeah, they'll need a few days to order the parts and then assemble the laptop as
well. it'll probably take some time depending on if their parts are in stock or not as well.

i ordered the cooling for the laptop from amazon. the price is much cheaper than the ones
@ Toshiba site. a lot of good reviews, so i trust the product will work great. i'll definitely need
a cooler if i'm gonna play some games on this laptop. plus, this cooler looks pretty HOT! :cat:

Cooler Master NotePal X2 Laptop Cooling Pad (http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-NotePal-Cooling-R9-NBC-4WAK-GP/dp/B002MU1ZRS/ref=pd_sim_e_2) - about $25

mine just ship today: 12/06/2012.
dang, i thought the company was in the U.S. or something so that the shipping can be faster,
but instead, it was in Shanghai China (not surprise at all since everything is like made in China these days).
i'll get the laptop next Wednesday due to international shipping.

well, just hoping the shipping arrive intact and the laptop works. other than that, i'm gonna prepare
to transfer a lot of stuffs to my external hard drive and get them ready when this lap arrives. :cat:
