Origin of DESU Team in PSO2:

Originally, we were from another MMO but some of us wanted to try this game so we migrated here. The team was initially set up for easy communication between us, but as of late we have decided to open our team for recruitment of new members from the public.

DESU PSO2 is part of ClanDESU family. There are other DESU guilds in other games like Aion and DNSea. We have our own website and forum over here:

Our Team's Culture and Standards:

We a social and semi-hardcore playstyle team. Our team aims to build friendship and through that, powerful and strong players in our team. We grow stronger together with our team.

Our team actively does AQs and TACOs almost everyday, so you can look forward to doing them with us.

As of now, we have players of all timezones. Currently, we have around 95-100 members, and around 10-20+ online normally. We always have slots as we kick inactive people periodically. We are shifting our focus to maintaining a small group of active members and building friendship between this group, rather than overloading the team with too many new random members for us to keep up with. If you would like to play with a fixed group of active members, our team is best for you.

Requirements:

There is absolutely no requirements for joining our team. As long as you are sociable and are willing to spend more time socialising/doing things together with team members, we will allow you to join. Of course, your own priorities will always come first. We are fine with helping new players adapt to the game.
We also hope that members can contribute to the team by helping to gather Team points for the team so that we can gain more benefits for the team faster.


The DESU Code of Honor:

These are the basic rules we want our members to adhere to. Failure to abide by the rules may get you booted from the team with immediate effect.

1. We are a clean guild and will not tolerate illegal in-game activities that would be perceived as cheating the game system. Any member caught hacking, using bots and the like will be reported, blacklisted, and kicked off.

2. Respect others as well as each other. No racist, sexist, or anyhow other offensive remarks will be tolerated in the group and towards others.

3. Avoid starting or involving yourselves in flame wars and such. Once you join DESU, the name is attached to you so do mind your behavior in-game and in forum. We don't want to ever see any DESU members begging, threatening, trash-talking, harassing other members of the community or anything that falls under this category.

4. The medium of communication here is English. Desu is a social, international guild that accommodates members from all around. Best to use a language everyone can generally understand.

Of course, there are exceptions like for instance, if you are in a party of 4 and all of you can understand, that's perfectly fine. Or if between 2 members through PM or such. But with the case of guild/team chat, please stick to English for the benefit of those who don't understand and will feel out of place if you exclude them from the conversation.

**With regards to Japanese words and phrases. Okay, some of us like to use it often, being that a number of members are otaku. *glances at name of guild* Yeah. So, this is fine. But this is alright to some extent of course, the level of Japanese isn't the same for everybody. **

5. Inactivity after 2 weeks or more will make you a likely candidate to be kicked if we don't hear from you or you haven't informed anyone for the reason of your absence. You are, however, welcome to re-apply if you wish to join again once you are active once more.

We are a bit lenient with #5.. to be quite honest.. but I think more than a month of not showing up and without telling anybody where you disappeared to will probably warrant you being one of the first-in-line in having your team slot cleared from the roster.

I'm pretty much 75%-25% when it comes to deciding between JP and EN. :X I... don't mind starting from the beginning but I think I'll juggle both and see which one I like better. Maybe dabble in the story, matter board and NPC convos, to name a few. Maybe a better understanding at some of the items I'm still unsure of and its purposes.

I've also come to realize that those off the US timezone could potentially experience some difficulty when it comes to event participation and such. Maybe..? Never had a problem with JP since there's little time difference from where we're from. So I'm a bit worried I'd miss out on events in the global servers due to I'm sleeping by the time it's happening. =3=;

Not to mention I'm kind of disturbed by the lack of news. It's already halfway down December and I haven't heard a peep out of them since the announcement of release in early 2013.

Now if only purchasing AC wasn't so troublesome, I'd have bought some by now.

Well, the team is not a serious one. We got all sorts of people here from all walks of life and come from different countries and timezones.

As you've probably read our introduction.. (yes? no? maybe?) we're a social guild. And while we do party up with each other when we have the time or a common goal, we're casual, laid-back and no, we will not hunt you down if you do not contribute to the team points. (But if you get buffs from the tree, it's expected that you're one of them who do contribute, yea? :'3 )

So I don't beat around the bush more, what I'm trying to say here is... we also shouldn't take everything way too seriously. Sure, as a group, it's expected that you'd run into some disagreements and different points of view here and there.. but we'd like to keep things as civil as possible.

Not even sure if the other members are reading this thread but, yeah.. I just wanted to get that out there. And we do have an honor code that most of the veteran members are already familiar with and this applies to pretty much all the other guilds in other games we've played in also.

For reference, at that 8:00 P.M., it'd be 6:00 in the morning for me.

Edit. By the way, just a question... um, I'm using a Sapphire Radeon HD 5570 1,024MB... So far I've put my settings at 3, standard shaders, with normal texture resolution and 60 fps limit. But I kinda also wanna know just how far I can push it to a higher setting.

How do you know you're going too far? Will it just crash or is it going to literally fry my graphics card? (which I'm afraid of happening..) I need to check again but I think I only have 2GB RAM or so... I was considering upgrading. I just bought a graphics card few months ago so I'm a bit reluctant to purchase a new one so soon... u.u'' or maybe I might upgrade my RAM... still thinking...

Self-Intro: I've been playing Phantasy Star games since about 2005, when I got PSO as a gift for my Dreamcast. I automatically became an addict, and remember celebrating my 300th hour of game time on my old RAmar. It was my first MMO ever, so I also remember sneaking around with the Dial-Up cable, hiding my short incursions on Online Mode from my parents.
Then came PSU and AotI, which were a pain in the rear to find for sale in stores in my country - I only had the opportunity to play their Offline Modes, but was pleasantly surprised at the innovations in the PS series.
Being such a huge fan, it's absolutely no wonder that after several months waiting for a Western Realease, I just couldn't take it anymore. Yesterday, I decided to try PSO2 with the English Patch, not understanding a word (or a single character, for that matter) of japanese. Been playing it since, and just finished my first quest in the desert (Lv.19 atm).
I'm a 21 yo dude from Portugal, recently graduated from a degree in Economics, and love MMO's and RPG's, and all things technological.
PSO-wise, I favor melee and getting my hands dirty. Though I do like Forces, I won't be playing them much because of the character (and Mag) limit, and I don't intend to buy AC at least until the release of a US/EU version. Some people have suggested creating a new account, but that would be cheating, wouldn't it? :-P

What you hope to achieve with us: Well, since the game is in japanese, I'm having a hard time convincing my friends to join me in the game, since they're either too busy having jobs or playing Guild Wars 2 (which I can't aford cause I don't have a job). PSO was always a lot more fun with friends, and PSO2 seems to be pretty much the same, with the particularity of Multi-Party quests, so I hope you can help me take the most fun off the game as possible. Finally, though I'm somewhat experienced in the PS series and aren't having a lot of trouble figuring out the basics, it would also be nice to have people around who can give me the occasional pro tip.

Actually, we're still in the midst of voting regarding that because some members are expressing interest in having a teamspeak channel. Frankly speaking, I'd rather not let our team leader spend real money in maintaining it if it can be helped... since I see little utility in having one for a game like pso2. If it's just for socializing, I'd rather use something free like raidcall. Skype annoys me when it comes to group calls and it gets in the way when I'm using it the same time I'm playing a game.

Self-Intro: Well, let's see. I just started PSO2 yesterday, but I've been involved in the Phantasy Star universe since PSO on the dreamcast. I was pretty dedicated and spent way too many hours on SegaNet with PSO. My main character's name was Lance but I doubt anyone can remember any character names from that long ago lol. I played PSU casually on the xbox, just couldn't really get into it the same way i did PSO. Luckily, PSO2 is so similar to PSO, it's been a pretty easy transition into it. I've been playing for less than a day and am already almost level 20 and feel like I have a good understanding of the game mechanics and features. I'm sure there are still questions I'll have as I get more into the game, but so far it's been pretty smooth going.

What you hope to achieve with us: Honestly, I'm not really looking for a hardcore team to play with. And seeing that you guys are more of a social team, I think you're exactly what I'm looking for. I mainly just want to find a group of friends to have fun and kill stuff. If someone screws up and we wipe, I prefer to laugh it off, crack some jokes and try again instead of getting mad and pointing blame. I'm a firm believer that everyone screws up sometimes, the trick is finding that group that you get close enough to, that they just make fun of your mistakes in a friendly, joking manner and expect the same when they mess up. From what I can tell, you guys seem like the friendly bunch who are just here to have some fun and kill some monsters. So if you are still recruiting for your team, I would love to be considered.

I'm new here, both to pso-world and Phantasy Star Online 2. I played PSO Ep 1 and 2 on Gamecube though.

(Optional) Self-Intro: I played and loved PSO Ep 1 and 2 for GCN. I never was able to play it online though. My internet is EXTREMELY slow (not laggy, just slow, I have about as much lag as a cable ISP), I've already been downloading the game for 3 days (not night hours), and I likely have another 3-4 days before it's finished. Another funfact: when a character creator is detailed enough, I try to make a replica of myself in real life. The problem is, due to a couple of physical "oddities" I have, no MMO has yet to let me do that exactly. Also, I am originally from Russia, and occasionally have slips in translation. A lot of people say they can't tell though, apart from just "funky" sounding sentence structure.

(Optional) What you hope to achieve with us: I'm hoping for a nice newbie friendly English guild in a Japanese game to help me learn the ropes, get past difficult areas, etc. I'm not a beggar, nor a person who always has to be told what to do, but when anyone first starts a japanese game without speaking/reading a lick of japanese, they need some help. :P

I highly suggest just sending a friend invite to the managers. A whisper does not leave any traces if the other is not online. The in-game mail can be used to notice managers if they are not online, but sending a friend invite does pretty much the same. Except that I sometimes get random friend invites while standing in lobby. :-?

EDIT: redzone, from my view, you are just tarnishing your own team image, I believe the team leader has apologised for making a false claim and already changed the team description from what i see.

My days are spent working on something (csc) -> pso2 -> read light novels -> sleep.
I will deviate from this schedule to watch anime whenever they come out. I also travel a bit, generally to anime conventions, though this is only for 3-4 days at a time over weekends. I am currently staying with my parents over summer vacation, so I tend to get interrupted a lot more than usual.

In pso2 I main force and sub techer (40/39). I haven't played for awhile because all my friends disappeared from pso2, so I stopped playing for awhile because I didn't want to play alone. I want to start playing again, so I would like to get in a social guild so that I can enjoy the game with other people.

My dream is to one day replace my body with another one and become a loli android. If the technology does not exist by the time I die, then I will just have to hope cryogenic freezing will eventually work out. When I am in my future loli body I will happily be wearing shimapan and spend everyday wearing sailor fuku. I will then go swimming in mizugi. I will live an amazing life one day in the future desu <3
