In Celebration of my wedding anniversary this month I was curious. I would love to know how many couple play games together! Don't even need to be a couple, maybe just someone you care about or someone you enjoy playing games with most of the time! Or perhaps your loved one thinks of gaming like the plague! I wanna know ^^

I'm celebrating 13 years of marriage this month. 13 years of humor, adventures and chaos. I've been playing MMO's with my hubby since the first PSO came out(Our first MMO). Unfortunately I have no pics from that time cause well... it was on a console and yeah, that's where they are lol. Here's a little photo show of our time we spent on games just relaxing and having fun ^^

FFXI: We played this game for 6 years. He's the Hume, I'm the Elvaan.
[SPOILER-BOX]Newbies starting together.

Later on our travels brought us together with him as a DRK and me the RDM

Aion: Played this for about 3 years. My hubby starting playing female this game. Said was tired of looking at a guys ass lol.
[SPOILER-BOX]He's the Gladitor and I was the Sorc. Always competing who did the most damage!

Closer shot. I'm in red.

And of course PSO2: Our current MMO.
[SPOILER-BOX]He's the red head and you all know I'm the blue one ^^

That's great that you're playing games with someone you truly care for. I've been gaming online for over ten years myself and I've met a lot of people online who are in a relationship with a significant other.

One of the first group of people I've met online was in the game Dark Age of Camelot. They were a husband and wife team like yourself. (husband was playing an Eldritch while the wife was playing a Hero). Eventually I would meet up with the husband's brother and their mother.

Whenever I hear about situations like yours; it makes my heart do a little dance for joy.

I personally don't play with anyone who lives in the same city as I do; let alone a significant other. <sighs>

I know not everyone has someone they can play with from their real lives. But I hope that you have someone you can always pal around with ^^ Games are always better with good ppl. Its the community that makes the game!

13 years is very nice considering the way many relationships end, hope you guys continue to have a happy life. :) As for me, I suppose I've been with my gf (now fiancee) since I was 19, now 25...I guess we're goin pretty strong, she's not really into games besides final fantasy, god does she love those, including the mmos. So I've played with her on XI and XIV, though I could only find one shot that I had saved still lol. Tried to get her into pso but she refuses since there's no crafting, and I think it's for the best since she likes to gamble and we all know that's all this game is.

Very true. It's been a while since I had a good group of friends to play with. After some had gone off during PSU, we never truly connected much together again for multiplayer-gaming.

I have mainly 1 or 2 friends who I occasionally game with. Not too often, lately. I would say that will change a lot in 2013, as we have more stuff we are getting into, which has multiplay. For what's out right now, there's Minecraft and possibly more Borderlands 2. (Have a Legendary weapon on my Mechromancer in that game. Mechromancer rocks. That's right Tiny Tina, you're not the only crazy little genious the world has. I still can't believe she only placed 3rd in the science fair.)

That is a cute looking pic with her looking up!

We played XIV for a little while and kinda fell out of it. But after trying the alpha it looks like we may get back into it. My hubby already decided he wants to be a female galka. Him and his strong looking women lol!

Wow, 13 years! That is so awesome! You don't see a whole lot of that nowadays unfortunately. God bless you!

Out of curiosity, which FFXI server did you play on?

Started out on Fairy but moved to Ragnarok when I found out my brother and his wife were on that server.

Ah ok. I was on Fairy until mid-2009 then moved to Phoenix to reunite with some friends that subsequently moved to Carbuncle where I am now.

Congratulations on the anniversary! In hindsight, I've known a surprising number of couples - married and separate, in online games. Most have actually remained together to this day, to the best of my knowledge.

Whatever the reasons, gaming as a partial cause or a partial effect of a happy marriage (I suspect both for most of the people I knew), I'm glad to see people in positions in their lives where they can be truly happy with at least one person they know. Sometimes it seems like even that's too much to ask for.

Congratulations!

My parents and I played PSOGC/PSOBB together for years and still sit down on a lazy weekend to wreck through Episode I and II. Haven't gotten them into PSO2 yet, though, since they're waiting for the NA/EU release instead.

Other games we've played together are Diablo II and III, and Monster Hunter Tri for a little while when my mom managed to borrow another Wii for online play.

Gaming can be a great way to stay together if both ppl enjoy playing. I've seen lots of instances where just one person plays and the other resents it. Not even giving it a shot. Then there are couples who compete so badly that arguments occur over virtal reality.

Tbh, I was not a gamer at all when I met my husband. He loved gaming, I loved anime. He tried anime and now I think he's a bigger freak than I am lol. I tried gaming just to spend time with him instead of glaring at him from behind. Turned out I liked it and after getting the hang of it I wasn't a bad gamer ^^

Congratulations, Dragonlily!
13 years is so amazing, really nice to hear you two are still so happy together!

I have been over 6 years with my boyfriend together. And we also LOVE gaming together. However, I sadly can't get him into PSO2, while he did play PSU for a short amount of time, he just doesn't want to put up with PSO2, lol.
But, we have many other games that we play together, from things like borderlands to mario bros. I also very much enjoy watching him play games. Because there are some games, I don't know really why, but I just don't play them (red dead redemption, horror games, max payne 3, etc.), but there is nothing more awesome for me than being able to watch my boyfriend play these games (because those are games I truly enjoy/love as well).

I can't wait for what other gaming adventures we will still experience together!

There's a few games I rather just watch my hubby play. Like the Burnouts and Need for Speed. I tried once... >< I kinda would... well fly off the guard rails. Crash into oncoming traffic. Etc... lol. Controllers bug me. Gimme a KB!!!

Sadly, I don't think there's anyone I care for in that manner besides family.
And most certainly don't have the friends that play everything I do..

Congratulations on your anniversary! Here's to many more years of gaming and lovenuzzles~ Cheers!

As for me, my husband and I met on Xbox PSU back in 2007, but really bonded on an MMO called Perfect World International about 4 years ago (he introduced me to it since I was getting a bit bored of PSU). A 13-hour drive separated us, but we quickly became best friends, inseparable. We seriously made the best Tank-Healer team. xD I like to joke that he only married me so he would always have a good cleric around. Anywho, we got married a bit over a year later and we'll be celebrating our 4-year anniversary this coming April~

Even though Richard doesn't get that much time to play PSO2 anymore, he still likes to watch me play PSO2 or [insert whatever Xbox game I'm currently playing]. Though, he's kinda moved on to strictly tabletop RPGing since our last Storyteller bailed on us. D:

@Yunfa: Its a good thing! If she plays more than you, she'll get more monies. More monies means she can buy you stuffs from the shops! Mwahaha! #That'sTerrible c:

The PSU pictures in this really remind me of the old days, also I love this thread as I've had 2 GFs that played video games with me and we had good times... Sadly my ex passed away a little over a year ago and I've been a "loner" since. Oh well I still enjoying playing the game with friends when I have the time. Specially with Miwako since she's like my online big sis/mom so to say ;D!

So have I. There were a few times, though, when I would get along with one of them, and not the other. That was always fun. 8-)

I think sharing hobbies and doing them together is one of the best ways to strengthen any relationship, 'romantic' or otherwise. It's a huge plus to share a love of gaming, for instance, since the tired old trope of "women yelling at their men to stop playing games and pay attention to them" goes out the window when she's right next to you, killing Dark Falz with you.

I digress. Very nice, Lily. I don't have any IRL friends (and obviously don't have a 'partner') that play PSO2, or any game I do (except for once in a very great while), but I bet it's a lot of fun.

Maybe someday you'll have someone; whoever that person is to you play games with you ^^ Least that's my wish! (That way you can yell out to them "Heal me damn it!" "I'm dead, raise me!!" "Pay attention will you!" "Finally! We cleared it! Wc time...") lol everything that makes it fun ^^

This community is a great one and I hope it stays that way. It's everyone collectively that makes a game great! If it wasn't for ppl like us the game would not be as fun, exciting or enjoyable!
