l337 haX0r Duperz
These are the people that think they're cooler and better and love to rub it in your face
Shortcut Key Presets:
"j00 n00b!"
"I'm b3tt3r than j00 cuz I can sp33k l337"
"I hav3 5 guld millas!!! I swear they are legit!"

Santa Duper
Well, they might mean well by duping items and giving them to characters and I'm sure those receiving these items appreciate it... but it sort of ruins the game for people that are legit... after all, it's not a rare when everyone has one right? (unless it's a varista... geez)
Shortcut Key Presets:
"Free God Parts"
"Take these 5 made rare mags!"

Beggers
Pretty self explainitory...
Shortcut Key Presets:
"NE1 WITH FREE STUFF!?!?!?!?"
"GIVE ME ITEMS!"
"NE1 with FREE GOD PARTS?!"

Whiners
This has happened to me so there is a little sympathy... but not much. People that were corrupted, FSOD/FSODX that try and get stuff from you
Shortcut Key Presets:
"FSOD! LOST ALL MY STUFF! HELP!"
"I need a good weapon! Lost all my stuff!"

Thieves
In P2 and on battle ground they pick up as many items as they can w/o even looking at what they are or who they might belong to. They also don't care if the item is completely irrelevant to them (i.e. Android picking up fluids when there is a FO in the room) They are usually beggers as well.
Shortcut Key Presets:
*nothing, they are too busy picking up items

Supporto Fo
Everyone wants one on their team!
Shortcut Key Presets:
"What? I don't need to hit anything, I get exp. w/ j&z!"
"COME BACK! I HAVE TO S/D UR AZZ!"
**Note, you do not have to be a FO to fall into this catagory

Charity Hunter (philantropists??)
This is the Hunter that thinks not only of themselves. They have fun helping others and only wish for a "thank you" in return. They save technique disks or materials (after maxing of course) or high % weapons for low level characters
Shortcut Key Presets:
"Need Help Leveling?"
"Free items!"
"Need a new weapon?"

Keyboard Chatters
They take advantage of the fact they have a keyboard and most people don't. They dance in the visual lobby and the best are the ones that yell at beggars and whiners
Shortcut Key Presets:
*scoff, Preset? Why bother when I can just type it?![i]

Hardcore lvl Upers
THey can be fun to play w/ sometimes... other times it's just tedious, they ignore all items (except the occasional meseta... but only if it's on the path to the next room...)
Shortcut Key Presets:
[i]*No talk, too... busy... shooting/casting/wacking enemies...

Creepy people
Before I go into my defenition, I'll first explain that I have made friends via PSO and talk to on AIM regularly... I think it's great meeting new people through PSO and making friends... but...
...what I mean by creepy people are the ones that hit on you! A guy I knew played a Hunewearl and he gets hit on all the time... but he also get a lot of free weapons...
Shortcut Key Presets:
"ASL!?"
"Wanna Cyber?"
"Got a Pic?"

Braggers
These are sometimes dupers of some sort. They can frequently be found in trade rooms showing off all their items but w/ no intention of actually trading.
Shortcut Key Presets:
"Ur stuff sucks!"
"No Way!"
"Sho" (so they can later lol at you)

Old School PS Preachers
These are the people that are disappointed in PSO and insist no one is worthy of it unless they've played every PS game before. They usually tell you how much PSO sucks (even though they are usually high level)
Shortcut Key Presets:
"PSO is nothing compared to the old genesis games!"
"Bah, you call this an RPG?!"
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'VE NEVER PLAY PS!!"
"No, I don't mean Playstation"

Spammers
They are constantly typing crap, sometimes to distract you so they can pick up items if it's during game play. In the visual lobby they'll play the same symbol chat over and over (very troll like) and are often combination of beggars and/or whiners
Shortcut Key Presets:
*Any thing over and over and over

Uber Legits credit to Auracom
As mentioned in posts below, it's the best and most genuine type of hunter. The one that believes in working for their level ups as well as their weapons or armor. They are cautious when trading (if at all) and avoid dupers at all costs
Shortcut Key Presets:
"Proud owner of a Varista!"
"All my items are legit, found them myself!"
"My eyes are bleeding, I've been online for 16 straight hours looking for a j-sword"

Immature Deity <wannabe> haX0rs Credit to Chaselemonde
These are the kids that like to ruin other people's games. This person knows a person that hax0rz and got a few god parts and a good weapon and proceeds to kill everything in site before anyone else in the room gets a chance at it. There's little hope in losing them. They will also tell you how much you "suk" and how your weapon "sux" but won't offer you something better
Shortcut Key Presets:
*after killing you in battle mode*
"LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
*after reviving you in battle mode and killing you again before you even get to re-equipt your weapon*
"LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
*after reviving you in battle mode and killing you again before you even get to re-equipt your weapon*
"LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
*after reviving you in battle mode and killing you again before you even get to re-equipt your weapon*
"LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"U SUK!!!!!!!!!"
*leaving you to die in battle mode
"Sorry, no Moons!"
"No Meseta to buy moons!"
"I'll revive you if you give me your Snow Queen!"

n00bie
Although many of us may not admit this, at one point or another, we were a newbie. Yep, it's true, even *I* was a newbie. These are the people that are just a little clueless, they don't know tricks like pressing start while running through hallways to keep from targetting traps or other general game play that has become second nature to many of us. They die often since they aren't familiar w/ the keys.
Shortcut Key Presets:
*None, they haven't quite figured that part out yet

Okay, this is just a random list I put together at 4am at work... so excuse typos and stupid mistakes... did I miss anyone? ^-^

One time out online, and I run into a creepy person and a keyboard chatter who wants to chat in the middle of the fights.....

I think I'm going to fall into the Charity Hunter catergory, as I tend to give away armor and weapons when I play IRL with people, so doing so on the net will just be an extension of that...

Cool list though!

This topic is pretty neat.

I try to be either support (even though it's usually not with a FO o_O) or charitable, but it doesn't always work. Usually when I try to help people with strategies for fighting the bosses or such, they don't listen. Then I get frustrated, but I still go out of my way to S/D, Resta and revive them. @_@; Probably a bad idea considering how weak my techs are.

I try being an uber-legit for the most part, but sometimes I'll play with dupers (though I don't trade with them). Shame on me? n.n

I consider myself a "Charity Ranger". Whenever I get a rare that I cannot use (or never will be able to), I give it to a person who can.

Mar 31, 2003, 06:24 PM
in guess im a charity FO i just gave away all my rares that i dont use anymore(because my bank was FULL) to lower level noobs and then did support for them so they could level hey im lvl 100 and they are 5-10's so i wasnt too interested in items and meseta i was enjoying myself watching them enjoy theirselves without dying every 2 mins against boomas or deminions it made me feel good to help the lesser players and in return i made some new friends in the process. as i said i helped them in the same way i was helped by other people at their level soooo.... i think i have changed into a support FO finally instead of attack FO .

When I get online I'll try to be an Uber Legit and a Charitibal Hunter after I get past my initail confused n00b phase.

Shit, I fit the bill of Charity Hunter like a letter. All of my DC PSO days were spent filling my bank in offline mode with rare weapons, armors, slot peices and high lvl tech disks to give out when I went online at night.

And I still end up doing that. X_X

*is reminded of his full bank* =|

...I dunno, I MIGHT be in the hardcore lvl upers category. Im levels 185, 115, 90, and 70, I dunno, depends on how other people look at it. I should be 190+ but i took a vacation to mexico for 10 days and ive been offline for the past week and a half due to broken router. When router gets fixed however ill be back leveling ^_^

Definitly in the same boat as him. Just with alittle more spunk. I'm not exclusive to no one difficulty mode.

Yeah...i can defintely attest to being a Charity Hunter. When you have LOTS Club of Laconiums, Stags, Justys, Guilty Lights, Dragon Slayers, Last Surviviors, Meteor Smahes and others in your bank, what else can you do? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I fit the Uber Legit category too. All 4 of my banks are as pure as spring water!

Here's a couple of types you can add:

DBZ Wannabe: Usually plays on weekends when their parents let them, they are always almost short spikey haired Hunters with various mispellings of Goku, and Vegeta. These spammers however are equally stupid to the ratio of their spam. Which usually consist of constant dbz quotes like
"I AM THE GREATEST OF ALL SAIYANS"
"GOKU"
"U R G.A.Y!!!1111 HAHAHA F A R T" (serious, I saw this one time O_o; )

Avid Roleplayer: This species of gamer is actually pretty rare now since the DC ver. went out. But this type of gamer usually spends most of their time writing fan-fics and taking part in RP chats that usually involve vampires and very efeminate men. This type of player is actually kinda fun to play with, but if you don't play along with their D&D visions, they'll quickly become bored and become very rude. They also get very snipity if the story as they see in their head doesn't play out the way they want it to be. Well, sorry, but I can't control the Delsabers who love slapping your character's silly http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Typical quotes from these characters are:

"I am a Dark-Elf of the clan Kakashitsu! State your business vile flesh sack"
"I cast MAGIC MISSLE!"

Gamer fanboy/girl: This type consideres himself HARDCORE! This type will boast about playing everytype of system while not hesitating to diss any systems he thinks are inferior just because they happen to be made by Microsoft http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Usually has a character named after a classic SEGA, Nintendo, Capcom, or Squaresoft character. This type of gamer is actually really fun to play with, but unfortunatley, these types can have any of the bad types of players combined with them. Beware if you bash their game, they'll quickly turn evil on you and continue to spam you in any means nessicary. Typical quotes from this type are:

"Bill Gates can suck my $%#@"
"Take this Ganon!" (or substitute Ganon for any other villian)
"FINAL FANTASY insert number here RULES!!!"

Anime fanboys/girls are the same but instead of games, it's based off of their fav anime. Has some elements of Avid RPer.

Oh, and to add onto Uber Legits, you should probably add that they'll adamantly diss and talk down on duping and any other type of acts avidly. I've met the type before, and if they even think you dupe things, or even have dupes, they won't hesistate to lecture you on end about it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Well, as for what gamer am I? I'm two parts Gamer fanboy, one part Charity Hunter, with a dash of uber legit. But I wouldn't mind hacking myself a pair of Rocket Punches for personal use. I doubt I'd ever find them normally and they're really the only thing I want http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I would be a Charity Hunter/Hardcore leveler.

I usually give all the extra items I find to my other characters first, then I give out all the stuff I don't need to other people. If the item I find is a common rare (i.e. varista) that has no percents I will usually sell it.

I also level up a lot. But lately I have been leveling up on and off.

This is cool! *promptly cuts and pastes into a WordPad document* Zees ees "Vanago's List of Players and Playerettes"! Mwahahaha! Someone is a very experienced online player...

As for which one of these I am, likely a Charity Hunter since I have so much crap I don't use I might as well give it to someone who'd put it to use, and a Uber Legit - and a modest one at that.

Support Bragging FO I kill people in battle mode and say Opps sorry no moons when i can obviously revive someone with my magic since the game just started. i always get a laugh when some one says "oh ok"
Any ways dude i totally love this i really do dig it

Apr 4, 2003, 10:35 PM
wow i dont fit any of these catagories. im kind of a n00b but not really. (lv. 60) so far ive only played split screen multiplayer on the GC. i never even played the DC version. when i made my character my two friends were both beyond level 50 so they both just gave me a bunch of weapons and low level mag to help me start out. as they find new stuff i get there old stuff. so basicly they are my crutch.

Apr 5, 2003, 01:14 AM
wheres support hunter lol? seriously, i dont give sutff out so im not a charity hunter but in combat i always make sure my team mates are out of danger, like if i notice the lowest level person being ganged i immediatly lay an ice trap on the enemies im fighting and run over to help the person in trouble.

I guess I fall into the "supporto" catagory as a hunter and a force. I always try to keep my party in S/D. My FOmarl, Rhiana, gets the lion's share of her xp through Jellen/Zalure in online teams, also. She's never far from a resta or reverser, either. Just need a higher level anti.
