Item drops on line and off. Does it matter?

The reason i ask is because i've been hunting for a few weeks now with my FOnewarl in the heat sword quest, looking for 2 items, the real agito,(I know it's hard to find, so i understand why i haven't found it yet.) and the star stone. (what you need to make the twinkle star.) Now i undertand that Tallows are stingy, and the real agito is rare, so i understand why i've not seen it in the weeks i've looked, and the litterly hundreds i've killed, but the star stone throws me.

Hiltits are very commen in HS, which is were i hunt, and almost always drop something, but i've killed hundreds of them things and nada... (i've went from lvl 101 to lvl 117 doing only this quest...) I didn't think it was that hard to find, but when i got to thinking about it, i haven't hardly found ANY rares.

In her first few runs in off line forst, Vinny's found 2 red scropos, 3 customs frames, and a ton of useless spreads. (finil impact, metor smash, ect.) I didn't spend a lot of time in off line forset, cause I was hunting for a red sword in the caves,(haven't found IT yet either, but i'm leveling a skyly, figre it'll be easier to find on her...) so i'd say maybe 10 - 15 runs at best got me that stuff. But i take her online, and have done a TON more runs in it, and i think i've found a finil impact off the dragon twice, and that's it as far as red boxes go...

Does being online / offline have anything to do with drops? Is the star stone really THAT rare, or i'm i just really unlucky?

Drop rates are same off and online. Online is only favorable since certain quests have a lot of certain monsters (like Mop Up #1 and HS w/ Tollaw)

Ok, Team, since you seem to be an all knowing orical of pso information, i'll just as you this.

I know which id's drop what. But i don't know which id's are most effective at finding an item. Case in point.

I was hunting a stag curry (long time ago, i might add.) with my Oran Hucast. I was hunting the slimes for a week or better, never found one. My kid brother gave me a spare of his, so i stoped hunting them. I level up my Fonewm, who's pinkel, and to the fake in yellow quest, looking for a real agito, and guess what? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Well, I learn from that experince that all section id's don't dorp the same rare it's at the same rate. (Which i always understood, but this real life example really drove it home for me.)

I don't really have anything set in stone for whitetill and Bluefull... Thinking a HOnewarl, and a RAmarl... but anyway, that's were i stand with Char's.

and i dont think it does matter if online or offline. i got my agito from a pinkal i had after 14 pal rappies in fake in yellow.
got my star amp from the same enemy in oran.

my quandry is this- why do canabins drop only photon dropa for purplenum offline? i want my kasami bracer.
that and my parts of baranz, ruby bullet and yasminkov 2000h. cant tell you how many spaceship runs i made liiking for the yas 2000h and came up empty handed.

i got a ruby bullet my VERY FIRST time beating the UTL Mines bose.. I'm not much of a ranger fan, althought i love my racast, more for his look/role play aspect than accual game play. I'm i the only weirdo that thinks up back storys/plot lines to my creations? All my guys tie together somehow in this great big fantasy/ongoing monolog inside my head as i play... it adds some life to the game for me. * Means that you could find both by taking the suicide route in Max Attack 2, but... I don't recommend anyone under level 120 try that - 130 if going solo.

I'd recommend HUnewearl for one of the characters. Quite simply because: Best solo = Best item hunter.
