Help with the HTML .. I think..

Hi, I am not very good with html, but I'd like to be able to put my own little pictures down below whenever I post. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this? I bet it's simple and I'll feel like a fool when I get the answer... But I can't remember how to do anything like this. *sigh* Even though I took a course on this only 4 years ago...

If you want to put pictures in the body of your message, just use the BBCode buttons at the top of the page. Type in the URL and highlight it. Next, hit the "Img" button.

Example:

http://members.shaw.ca/chris_dekker/rappy.jpg

is [ img ]http://members.shaw.ca/chris_dekker/rappy.jpg[ / img ]. (Without the spaces).

So, let's say I have a picture downloaded to my desktop, can I get that under the bar, like you have that rag rappy?

Nope. You need to have your pictures uploaded to a web host, such as Geocities, Tripod, or something. Keep in mind most free places won't allow remote loading! (That means you put a picture in the space, and try to access the picture from another site, like you would put the picture in your signature file.)

If you want to put your image in your signature (under the bar), then you may want to use HTML, as it is more versatile and allows you to do more things. To put an image in your signature using HTML, do this:

http://www.imageurl.com/
