This is crazy man, I was just listening to last week's Giant Bomb podcast two days ago. Now all of a sudden he's dead.

The circumstances of his passing couldn't be anymore tragic. So young, married for less than five days, seemingly having the time of his life.

The guy's been a part of my weekly routine since the GameSpot days and even more so when Giant Bomb and the Giant Bombcast started. I'm not the least bit ashamed in saying that it honestly feels like I lost "the best friend I never met" because his work has been so tied to my usual goings on the last ten or so years.

Hell of a guy though. It was hard not to watch and listen to him getting a kick out of every damn thing he did because he sincerely and openly enjoyed everything and shared that energy with everyone he reached with his work and not find yourself giggling like an idiot too.

I honestly have never even heard of him but then again can't say I've ever been to the Giant Bomb website either as I really just go to sites to read news and I'm not really into gaming podcasts. From the various articles I've read today about it him though it seems he touched a lot of gamers hearts and was a genuine person. Sad to see someone die so young when it seems he had such a great life experience still ahead.

Last night's Bombcast was so touching. Eight guys, sincerely remembering a man in a way that was hilarious, tear jerking, and had the perfect tone. The strength it musta taken to sit in that studio for a few hours is incredible and I'm glad they shared something like that with the community. Vinny finally losing his composure near the end was just heartbreaking though. :'(

I was never the biggest fan of Giant Bomb but something about Ryan made him my favorite of the bunch by a longshot. It feels strange to be affected by a stranger's death but here I am. This one's for you, Nachoboss.

Man, what a funny motherfucker. Great little video package of Ryan's off-camera antics Vinny put together.

I haven't listened to the whole bombcast yet. I've been playing pieces of it on the ride to work in the morning.
