I see someone has discovered the joy (or is that pain?) of Today's Rate. Took them long enough to upload that for the PC version, eh?

Two things with that image. Did you know you uploaded it as a text (.txt) file? And it's WAAAAAAY too big file-size wise. Almost a whole MB for one image. Ouch, man. Some of us don't have broadband. My dial-up was screaming. =>.<=

>_< NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATED THAT QUEST! >_<

piece of advice. there is a little known program on your pc called paint. use it to change the file from bitmap to jpeg and you will see a world of differnece in file size.

Yours isn't much better ("ur" isn't a word just a product of laziness), nor is the grammar.

What is the quest Today's Rate and is it available on GC or XBOX versions of PSO?

It's and old DC quest online quest if memory serves me correctly, and it's not on GC. I dunno if it will come, I doubt it.

the only reason tht todays rate was so popular among v2 was that it was the only way to get to make v2 enemy parts into weapons on the dc and pc.

Not to mention it gave all enemy weapons random percents. Though in my opinion it wasn't worth running through that annoying quest just to get one enemy weapon with low percents.

Low percents? hehe I loved my delsaber's buster 30 nat 45% hit, with shield of delsaber 2000 dmg in forest ult.

And the baranz launcher 35 mach 35 hit!!!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gifD In ver2 percents were REALLY important. Only a 30% could be better than 300 atp more in the wep

yea, I wonder how long exactly it took ST to do something as big as PSO. I mean just take a look, everything is random and there are so many combinations you can do with the game its almost not even funny http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

It's not really random...the levels are chosen from set models, with set numbers of enemies in each. Every enemy has a set of item drops, each of which are assigned different percent chances of dropping which remain constant. The quests are totally constant in respect to enemies and layouts.

Frankly, the game engine isn't that impressive, just a matter of data and random number generation on a mesoscale. It's not a grand game that taxes the hardware and pushes the limits of any system. Even the character individualization falls short of being overly impressive, since you are limited to the few options you are given. What's impressive is that the game is fun and addictive, and is a good, but not superb, game.

its just really amazing about what they can do with the pso engine, sorta like the half life one (i think some modders made the engine into a fighter jet game)

(Its more the fact that you could play the game for over 2000 hours and not see everything it has to offer, not the exact engine of the game)

...besides, only ST would know exactly how the probability is set within PSO.
