i talk to one of the mods on aim sometimes. trust me, they do not like to be bothered repeatedly about these things. i9f they decide to make you a mod, they will let you know. trust me. i have seen many a mod come and go here.

There are the ring leaders who come out and set up the show: admins.

There are the animal tamers who keep elephants, tigers, and monkeys in line: moderators.

There are the snack people that make their way around the audience: contributors.

And then there is the audience: members.If everyone does their job, things go smoothly and everyone enjoys themselves, making it not seem like work.

Well, if you do that, you let me know first! Why? Im Purplenum & on Ultimate but only up to the Caves (I have alot of chars to work on so I cant advance them all at once). I don't know exactly what being a mod here would entail (though I have an idea) such as would I need to know coding or some form of d-base or is it more watching for content? I may not have a PSOW name as old as some others here but I probably go further back on Phantasy Star more than most people do as I've been a fan since the beginning of the sage. I don't know if that makes a difference or not but I like to think I'm a good contributor to PSO (both in-game & here on the site, where I can)...

Almost every board I visit has mods that get attacked by community members (if the community is big enough to accomodate it). Personally, some of my best online friends are mods, we all just mod on different boards. Sometimes it's tough work, sometimes it feels like there's nothing to do, and sometimes you take a vacation and forget to tell the others. ^_^

my question to y'all is - whats the big deal about becomming a mod? i have been a mod at a couple of boards. one of them got me realizing that the admin was a dick. i mean, it is fun at times, but at the same time, its a chore and a half trying to keep people out of your hair left and right. you will absolutly hate it.
so just ask yourself why do you really want to be a mod? if you dont like the work, then dont ask for it. they wont take requests anyway.

It's not so bad if there are other people to help with the work, but if there's too few mods or too many immature members, it's a pain.
