Best RPG Mini Game? [Archive]

What RPG think had the coolest mini games? I think the best mini game was in Xenogears. They had a fighting game for each gear you encounter at the battle arena. It was really fun, and it was 2 player too! In close 2nd would have to be Final Fantasy VIII's Triple Triad...I LOVE that card game. Anyway, what do you guys say?

Triple Triad kicked ass. The FF9 version of the game wasn't as good as the original in FF8. So TT gets my vote...

Triple Triad was fun, but sucked when you went to another continent and all the rules changed! >_<
also, i enjoyed the little swordplay sfight thing in ff9

LOL I love playing the games @ Gold Saucer in FF VII. I love the roller coster shooting one and the snowboarding. Chocobo racing was nifty too. Even though they are so old right now they are still so fun to play http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

yeah they were pretty good. though the battle arena was my favourite simply because you own it once u get to level 70+

i like the 2 player mini games in Tales of Destiny 2 and the 2 player battle arena in Legend of Mana. it was fun to see who was better at the game when you both were level 99. haha.

I seriously played blitzball more than I played the actual game...same goes for triple triad, damn addicting mini games.

I loved the mini game "Koburu Knuckle", in Sakura Taisen 3.

Easiest way to win at the battle arena in FFVII:

Step 1: Get Vincent's final Limit Break

Step 2: Use it in the first fight (Vincent must be at a substantially high level).

Step 3: Tape down the X button (or whatever makes selections).

Step 4 (Very Important): Take relatives/friends/significant other(s) out to a Chinese Buffet.

You could also do it manually, but you'd miss the final, important step (or do it afterward).

Chocobo racing was fun at times, and the snowboarding thing was good as well, but nothing beats smacking people with a big-ass sword while riding on a motorcycle http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif. Triple Triad was tolerable, but Tetra Master was just annoying.

I can't really think of any other noteworthy mini-games in RPGs...
