don't you hate it when you are trying to fight and everyone else is ranting on about neopets or some crap. Damn. Let's go to area: Forest. No I'd rather sit here on my ass and bitch about dupers or legits. I couldn't care less whether you have a BKB+250 or never touched a rare. jeez, just shut up and fight! where are you from? go do that in the lobby! after we wreck falz i'll never talk to you again. AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!! I don't want to play with gossiping house wives, I want to play with people who want to kill things, get items, level up, (repeat). Don't get me wrong occasional small talk is ok, but talking on and on just totally pisses me off. If you want to ask me what item I'm using fine. If you want to know the exact day and the ittems percents and how many slots my armor has just shut up!

whew, breathe...ok END RANT.

You forget that PSO is also for communicating. Not just mindlessly pressing the A button endlessly.

I think you're over-estimating the amount of fun that actually sitting down and playing PSO provides. To me just leveling or hunting rares is like the background music to what I really log on to do, which is hang out with my PSO friends. PSO is a simplistic, lame, almost boring video game, but it's addicting as hell because you can play it with other people. So lighten up and admit that maybe PSO isn't as brilliant a game as you think it is http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

In the lobby it's not a big deal. But when I make a game named HS and people join, run to the bank, then start asking about trades, it's very annoying. Then, add in the fact that they're using the soft keyboard for this and they take forrrevvvverrrr.

I can agree with you! Sometimes talking is just not needed, but it's good to sit and chat at times

If it's just a casual, laid back game, hell I can sit and talk for hours, or even just play but at a laxed pace as we all talk.

That was back on the DC version with keyboards anyways, on the GC release with no keyboards for the majority, pfft. Trillian is my chat program for some people I play with, and it keeps the screen clear so I can see whats happening, but I do miss the little pop up bubbles and the 32 character limit XD

If I'm playing a specific quest, yeah, it's mostly a run-through with little talking. It doesn't have to be solid silence, but not drawn out conversations like in laxed regular games.

I would have to disagree with you, because I usually get a lot of enjoyment when I play offline.

If it's some random person begging for "trd" or "rares", then I'd understand. But wanting people to just shut up, period?

I think you need to spent more time offline.

With the NPC's.

I think the biggest problem is when you make a room that is obviously for playing, e.i. hs, break stuff, f1 etc, and you get people who wanna trade. People name these rooms what they do for a reason. I can sit and chat for hours, in the lobby, but when im in the middle of a swarm of hidelts, i really dont want to chat. You guys are right, the community aspect of this game is what makes it great, but there's a time and place for everything.

Lobby is for chatting and game is for playing. It doesn't get any fucking simpler than that!!

._. I see people "play" with each other all the time with the keyboard actions. I'm scarred.

I couldnt agree more. But as it has been stated, there is a time and place for everything. In the heat of battle is not the time to discuss how i raised my mag.

I don't know about that either... I enjoy playing multiplayer offline with friends... communication is a whole lot easier for one thing http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I like talking during the game..depending on my mood though, everyone could be talking away, while, I'm saying nothing and trying to beat the levels. They're on the uppers levels of seabed talking and I'm at Olga already.

Just an example, thats not actually happened. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I want to leave games that are just too quiet..or they don't want to say anything. Communication stimulates me.

Yeah yeah! That's exactly how I feel. Sometimes I'll join a game and all I'll get is three "HI"s and maybe a "RED" or "BLUE". Then we'll just kill forest for about 10 minutes until we get back to town, and then a few "CAVES???" and maybe an "OK". It makes it seem like you're playing with NPCs when nobody says anything. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Hmmm, maybe those of us who play this game, dont use it as the only social interaction in our lives. Yeah there are sometimes I like a good friendly game, where everyone is cozy and chatty. But most of the time I save all the chit chat for the town or the lobby. You can macro sayings for a reason, use em to say the pertinent stuff, and save the in depth conversation for the town or lobby.

YEAH!!!
