Anyone having trouble grinding attributes?

I can grind items just fine but if I go and try to grind attributes I am told I do not have any syntheizers which of course I do.

standard question: do you actually have "enough?" it takes at least 6 per doesn't it? probably more for you considering that was weak weapons from the beginning of the game I'm going off.
