Assuming that you have played the English port of the original PSPo2, the menu and controls are virtually the same. The only thing you will need to adjust to is that the o button is to confirm and x is to cancel.

I haven't touched the game in a long while, but I think you can. However, you'll have to recreate that character to fit in with the style changes.

Forgot to mention this, your save needs to be in the save format used for the Japanese versions and will only recognize saves in that format.
