This hip new method to character deletion.

I understand I have to wait 24 hours to delete the character, but do I have to reconfirm it? Or will it just be gone after it's been 24 hours?

You have to log in after the 24 hours for it to be deleted.
I know because I made a character on a test account and it was still showing up in character search for a week after I deleted it.
Once I logged into that account, the character was gone and it stopped showing up on the search.
