Partisan and Just Guarding

Does it have any effect? Or does partisan have it's own block style.

It's the same as JGing with any other hunter weapon. The timing for it is different from swords, wired lances.

Partizan Gear increases the range(AOE) of PAs. Just Guard stance while equip with a Partizan will build meter for P.Gear. You can also let the animation of your normal attacks and PAs finish to build P.Gear. With a point in Just Guard (on the skill tree) you can block enemy attacks without taking damage.

I've never noticed just guarding specifically doing anything special for partisan gear. The guard animation does in fact raise the gear though.
