Gunslash bugging out a bit.

I have no idea what I did but for some reason when I use the standard attack with a gunslash (shot or slash) my PA keeps changing with every attack.

If I hold down the standard attack button my PA also keeps cycling. This is kind of messing up my combo because I can't start from the first one I want.

That's just the way the PA system works. If you want to have access to the PA whenever, you typically put the same PA in all three slots and switch between weapon slots. Otherwise, if you have a specific combo that you want to use, you start it from the second PA slot or use a step attack to start your chain instead.

Yes, that's how the PA system works. If you weren't noticing it, you likely had a set of 3 of the same PAs on that weapon.

Again, that is not a bug.
