Would it be possible to add a option to de-install the optional patches? I installed the Character Creation Patch in the hope that there would be a option to modify your characters, but it's only for new players. Not sure how to remove the patch, neither do I know if it's impossible to uninstall it within the game itself, or using a file manager.

I haven't installed them so i honestly don't know. But! Seeing it's unity and they powering it with an asset server... it may be not possible without editing the apk.

I'll take a look when the tweaker is released.

Should be portable, Wp8 anyway? i can't really remember which version of ie used wp7.

The main problem will probably be doing the notification part and having a certificate to publish to the store. I think mine is for Windows 8 only.

Back on topic, just sent to AIDA a second beta. Should fix most of the stuff that was broken on the first one, and if nothing important is found it will probably be the release version.

First off just wanna warn you about like the 10 messages in a row i sent you hahaha.

Anyways lots of stuff is translated now, version number properly shows, but it appears the Back button and Return to Lobby button arn't translated in the version info menu but everywhere else the translation sticks.

Odd, i will need to take a look on that one. It's probably because it's being saved on the sdcard or the downloaded name is not the original one. Android can be quite stupid sometimes

Try reinstalling the patch.

Alternatively can you check if there is a few files in the Android/data/com.sega.phantasystaronline2/files/ folder? If that doesn't exists i would need to know where the .sav files are stored coz they're saved somewhere else.

I'll try again when I get my new phone in a week. It may be because I'm currently running the game in BlueStacks. An Android Emulator

A bit of a update on that. Bluestacks apparently uses a diff route. Update will be coming in a few days, including a self update option and a few fixes.

Related: I can't install pso2es on bluestacks, complaining about it's too old. Do you need to do something special?

Which device you're running it from, you can get this if the apk name is different from the original or if you're installing from the sdcard.

Odd, shouldn't be related to it, the tweaker just downloads the files and copies them. Try deleteing the apk from Android/data/com.arkslayer/pso2estweaker

I took a look around, to see if they were in the translation files, and they werent. They're requested each time on the lobby sequence then stored in memory so we can't translate them without resigning the apk, and that would break the ac shop.

Just for your information: first one's an energy refill, the one under that's a chip pack expansion.

You can get more by completing both Daily quests in a day. Just be warned that one of the quests has level 40 enemies.

I'm looking for a little help I think. I downloaded the pso2es tweaker and installed the game and english patch but when I start the game I have only seen about 3 text boxes translated and none of the menus translated. I was wondering if this is normal of if I did something wrong. The text boxes that have been translated have only been the first box in a conversation too which seems odd.

Did you install the game, then open and update it, THEN install the English patch? That's how you're supposed to do it.

Since this game can use your Google account to buy AC I'd like to share some info to players who want to get some free AC. There is an app on the Play Store called Google Opinion Rewards. Install and answer 1 or couple questions and Google will deposit Play Store credit in your account usually $.25 to sometimes $1.

They send a notification to your Android device once in a while through out the month and you get free credit for 30 secs of your time.

If you mean the item descriptions, they're translatable, but probably aida didn't get into it yet. The game is pretty big, not as big as pso2 but quite huge.

Try renaming the file using a file manager from pso2es.apk (or something like that cant remember the exact name) to PSO2es_1.0.2.apk .

Hey, i have a problem with the PSO2es Tweaker. I installed it and can install the game, no problem. start and login, everything went fine. But if i try to install the english patch nothing happens. The log said "downloading english patch" but thats it.
I use a galaxy Tab 3.

Usually if you patch it after an update and reload the game it repatches it, but sega moved the files somewhere else so it couldn't detect the changes. In any case the tweaker and english patch update should be available pretty soon (as in when aida gets back on).

So i've mailed sega the other day asking for a solution for this specific problem and since they don't have any automated system for now to do this kind of recovery you must send them a mail trough the PSO2 Support form.

First of all you must login with your pso2 account to the support form as usual:

Once in try to fill up the required fields with your usual PSO2 information, lobby, ship, character name , etc. Make sure that under the category of the problem select the last option which is just "Others..."

Then in the description field you must complete this small questionarie (copy paste this template and modify accordingly):

「PSO2es　秘密のパスワード再発行申請」

・2014年4月2日以降でPSO2esのプレイを開始した日時：{input here the day you started to play pso2 begining with april 2nd which was the release date}

　　キャラクター名：{name of your character on pso2es}

It's odd that it worked , probably something that bluestacks does. I just checked and the apk is compiled to run on android 4 or higher

Making it run on android 2.3 devices will need a repacked apk (and it may not work), and since it would be resigned it also breaks buying ac from it.

It's a late night update and it decided to break just before recompiling it on my laptop so some stuff may break. But it should work (at least it does on my n7 and emulators).

OS wise it needs android 4+. Hardware wise...well it runs fine on my 2012 nexus 7. I guess you'll be ok with any middle range device.

About the ios version that was announced today. It maaay be possible to make it run without jailbreak. But it will probably need a custom binary. I'll know when they release them and play a bit with it. There wont be a tweaker for it tho.

I just purchased an EVGA Tegra note 7 and it runs great, not sure if your looking to buy or not but it costed me about $190. Its not a phone its a tablet.

If it says it's incompatible you're probably not using the latest version of the tweaker, because it's displays compatible, the old one was left as incompatible since it needed a tweaker update. Launching it now does it now fire a confirmation window to update the tweaker? If it doesn't you're using the old tweaker.

Okay so, I downloaded the app and the game starts up, the title comes up but when I touch the screen to connect it tells me a bunch of hubbabubba in Japanese and something about Google Play and only gives me the option to hit okay, which redirects me to the Google Play store. o-o

Not in the tweaker but you can just delete ContentsCacheData.sav and the game should redownload it.

Will probably add it in a upcoming update.

Does it say anything on the log that appears on the right side? Probably the kindle uses a different folder structure.

Okay, I am terribly confused, I keep trying to login using instructions for BlueStack.

Every time, I get a notification that I can't read. Before it begins the standard loading screen, and then I get this message.

I've tried reinstalling, I've tried deleting everything and just installing PSO2es, I've tried with the english patch, without the english patch. But always it's the same thing. The best I can come up with is that it cannot contact the target server based on the few instructions the notification that I can read.

I'm stuck. :-?

EDIT: For some reason, it started working again! I've been trying for almost three days and when I finally work up the courage to ask here it just suddenly started downloading the latest files.

All I did differently this time was I reinstalled the english patch about ten times until it suddenly worked again. I'm not even sure my issue had anything to do with the english patch to begin with.

I was running PSO2es on BlueStacks earlier and able to play, but after getting sound to work on BlueStacks (had something to do with my sound card), I'm now encountering this message:

Normally I'd assume it has something to do with maintenance given that it's maintenance right now, but I was able to get a different error message earlier. Clicking okay on this error message opens up PSO2es in google play which now says the device isn't compatible. Is this something that's maintenance related or what?

When it first kicked me out for maintenance (right when it started), it gave me a different error message when I attempted to log back in and that error message didn't kick me out to google play. For what it's worth, I updated mine an hour or two ago through the Tweaker and I was able to log in without any issues (though it wanted me to download ~170 files).

I wanted to wait until I could figure it out myself, but any idea what an Error 302 is?

PSO2es lets me log into my main character, a force, but gives me this error every time I select my gunner alt.

I can select my ship, then select my character, confirm the character, and then select start game, and it gives me this 302 error after it loads for a few seconds. Just after it loads the background for the lobby screen.

I can log into my main character just fine. I don't quite understand what is going on. I can't screenshot it from my phone, but if anyone needs to, I can see if I can get a screenshot from Bluestacks if no one knows what a 302 error is.

It just started after this update too.

I've only taken a quick look at it. The game is essentially the same. The main issues are with ios itself (not being able to replace files to be exact).

I have a theorically viable way to make it work but it means resigning the game and a lot of work on each update, which is not the ideal way, so once i'm done with my current experiment on the android build of es (datamining something). I'll see what can i do.

So yes, but not sure when it will be ready.

Means PSO2es is actually out of date and needs to be updated. Seems the tweaker itself has to be updated before it can even begin to accurately tell if es is out of date, which sounds kind of counter-intuitive. Plus the tweaker itself seems to be a little slow on the updating itself front as well.

Makes me believe that the tweaker version check is not connected to any kind of server, but is instead run locally looking for a version number that the tweaker .apk was manually set to look for. So it might be favorable to add some kind of actual online based check for this. If not Google Play itself, then perhaps a simple version number string stored on whatever arks-layer tends to store PC tweaker updates on that the android es tweaker can then ping for a more accurate check that reduces confusion like this in the future.

I updated the patch a bit. Should (not sure can't test) those "-" quest names. From what i've managed to see some old placeholder stuff got filled but updating the eng patch kept it as -.

If you got some kind of tweaker update, ignore it, upped the tweaker version by mistake and restored it back a few minutes after.

If it's asking for a 16 digit code, then it's asking for you to authorize the device. This happens because the character is tied to the first device you log onto, and you need to retrieve the device transfer code on that device from the menu section where you do the optional download stuff (I dunno what it says in JP, but if you're using the PSO2es English Patch, then last I remember, I think it was the one untranslated option; been a while since I started it up; you'll know when you see it).

Be sure to write that code down, as well as the transfer codes for any other devices you log onto (it's different per character per device) in case something melts down or something.

I'd like to play the game on my tablet at home because battery life and 10.1in screen, but when I bounce to go to work or go out to do stuff, I'd like to play the game on my phone and not my tablet because my tablet is Wifi only and setting up bluetooth or wifi tethering is draining on my phone.

Oh look it's another person talking about how the game won't work with Bluestacks. I installed the tweaker via the built-in APK handler, and installed PSO2es via the Tweaker. I used both the "Verify & Install" and "Package Handler" options, but whenever I try to open it, it just sends me back to either the Tweaker menu, or app selection depending on where I opened it. I didn't install the Translation Patch before attempting to launch, if that adds anything to it. Will I be needing a Japanese Google Play or VPK to even launch it, or is there something special I need to do?

AIDA, you're the best. Thanks for this guide. Between this and the PSO2 Tweaker, you and your friends have made this game more than playable for a lot of us.

I had a problem - unrelated to PSOes Tweaker and this guide - it was a problem with Google. They simply did not "want" to let me purchase AC via yen via their Google Wallet feature. I had it all set up, but it kept saying "cancelled because of high risk" or something like that. So, I called their contact # and talked to a rep. Took a couple of tries to get it to work, but I kept telling them I wanted to purchase in-game currency for PSO2 on Sega's site, and finally, the second Google person said it would work. I just had to wait 48 hours for my Google Wallet account to be cleared. After that, worked perfectly.

So, if anyone else has problems with "high risk, transaction cancelled by Google Wallet" - just give them a call and tell them what you're trying to do. They are pretty cool about things once they confirm your intentions.

I know this isn't tweaker related...but Aida Pso2es screwed me bad and I need help...
You see, idk about others, But I'm canadian, therefore buying instant AC is like buying a mountain....or something severely overpriced far beyond it's worth. PSO2es was a godsend for me cause instant AC was two clicks away and easily saved me over 60$

At first I installed it on my old Samsung Galaxy S2 and it ran fine enough to run it without choking and dying. I used it pretty much only to feed the bottomless pit of a mag in my inven as well ass buying AC naturally. But one day, the game flips me off and says that my S2 is no longer supported. Now I never saw this coming (Tbh nor did i comprehend that there was a ridiculously invaluable code in the game that NEEDED to be written down in a safe location) so I figured, easy I'll just get a new phone ;o

Enter the Xperia Z1. I got this phone, logged in. Bam. Need that invaluable code. but I can't retreve it cuz my old phone is incompatible now (And apparently region locked (tried logging in today, google went from "Incompatible Device" to "Not available in your country")

In other words...do you have anything in your endless book of magic to shed some light on a possible solution? ;w; if not then...thanks for the responce ^^;

Has anyone had bluestacks work since the most recent update / nvidia driver update? I purchased AC with it less than a month ago now, but went to log in 2 days ago to be greeted with bluestacks initializing screen. I'm afraid of trying to reinstall since i don't have my character code jotted down, and worried that es may recognize the new installation as a new device.

I know how to manually edit the GUID on bluestacks, but wanted to make sure that the GUID was the only thing that needed to be the same before trying a reinstall. My laptop was unable to run bluestacks, so I couldn't test this myself.

I have tried using PSO2es Tweaker to no avail. When i try to run it i get either a blueish/greenish screen or just the background image and nothing else. I am running android 4.1 and supposedly my android device has duo processors running at 2.0Ghz. I don't know the exact model but, it looks to be a Chinese android device if that helps. Also when i try logging in it gives me the error code 006 and displays 4 boxes accepting 4 characters each. Since most of the game is still in Japanese I can't seem to figure out what it's asking me for if it's a security verification key or some other type of code. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I finally got it to work. I just uninstalled the game and tweaker from my phone. reinstalled the tweaker and redownloaded the game from the tweaker . I must have had to have waited for the update and I didn't . But after the new update came in the game works perfectly now . :)

Dakro recently I ran into the same problem because I had to factory reset my Nexus 7 and forgot to make a backup of the PSO2es character transfer code.

So i've mailed sega the other day asking for a solution for this specific problem and since they don't have any automated system for now to do this kind of recovery you must send them a mail trough the PSO2 Support form.

First of all you must login with your pso2 account to the support form as usual:

Once in try to fill up the required fields with your usual PSO2 information, lobby, ship, character name , etc. Make sure that under the category of the problem select the last option which is just "Others..."

Which parts exactly are missing for you?

Currently I would suggest uninstalling PSO2 ( after getting your device transfer ID ), then reinstalling it from Tweaker, then running es and recovering your character, and then quit out, install english patch, and try again.

It's very odd that you only get a select few parts that are translated, less than supposed to.

The eng patch is not ready yet advanced a bit of it but not done yet, i've been charging my nexus so i'll do it after i finish some work.

Yeah it said it was patchable because i forgot to tell aida to disable it on her main conf file.

No need for a tweaker update.

Yeah, i missed a patch sorry, still not sure it came on wednesday or thursday, because i was sure i checked it then and the internal date points to thursday.

I'm also working on a new patch method (basically for me to no need to depend on having my tablet to get the updated string database), so we'll be skipping last weeks patch because ep3 is coming tomorrow.

No worries, in any case they just released it and its up on the esTweaker, a temporal eng patch will probably up tonight or early tomorrow. Depending on when i go to sleep

Edit: sega decided to rename/move again the contentsdatabase so it will need an estweaker update and i don't have the tools to recompile it at hand. So it will take a bit more since i need to reinstall them etc..and i wanna try pso2 too! D:

Can you screenshot the error message you get when trying to install? Also what version of android are you running and are you rooted? You might have some ODEX file that needs to be deleted or something. You can run an app like Lucky Patcher to clean up these files.

About two updates back the English patch for ES was working perfectly on my Moto X. For some reason though its not translating anything anymore. Tried reinstalling the game and reinstalling the patch a few times over the last 2 weeks but to no results. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or of its a problem with the OS cause a friend of mine has never gotten it to work on his Samsung galaxy note 3 either.

Edit: I should mention I've been having this problem since about 2 weeks before ep3 dropped

Last week i forgot (well i checked but i thought they didn't update) ended updating it last monday.

Ep3 broke a few things + i didn't have the build tools at hand, and cordova is pretty annoying to set up, the tweaker update is almost finished. I just need to update the eng patch and test it all.

Edit: Almost done, the new tweaker and patch are working, just need to fix a few issues (like icon and portrait mode again)

You're running the latest version of es i presume? Running the last game update creates a new directory where the strings files are placed so if you haven't it may be related to that (beats me why they moved and renamed it).

Error code 3 is a reported cordova bug. Had this issue with the tweaker but it fixed itself alone, In any case, i restored the apk url to what it was before the latest patch so it should work to you now.

I'm porting the estweaker to something else so these bugs will be gone forever pretty soon + automatic patch compatibility check support.

What happens is that it tries to update the patch, and the bar fills up and then nothing happens.

When I download the apk file in bluestacks and try to open it, it tells me "can't open file". Not sure what's wrong with it or bluestacks, It worked fine last time I did it a couple months ago.

Edit: nevermind, reinstalled bluestacks and ran the apk file from the PC and it worked this time
