Did sega end up encourging more cheating?
Since they put up that thing that records the amount of time dupers have been blocked. But isnt there a gameshark code that edits gameplay time? All they have to do is get a gameshark and edit their time to dupe now and also they might use the gameshark for more!

Yeah, I agree. Even completely honest people will most likely end up using a gameshark to alter the time so backups work if their hit by BSOD or other reasons. There is a "sign this petition" post with lots of comments along the same line as this post.
