do all characters have the same attack speed?

Nope. Certain weapons on certain characters have faster attack animations than others. For instance, HUcaseals have the fastest double saber animation.

i was just curious, because the description of the FOmar says, that he's a quick one. i thought of playing a FOmar equipped with a nice slicer, or something like that ...

I'm not sure if FOmars get a speed bonus to any specific weapon type. They do have a good animation for an Angry Fist, but I'm not sure if it's faster than the other characters'. Slicers aren't bad on FOmars either, especially if you can get a Rainbow Baton or Red Slicer.

a power-mag would be the right choice for this character ... or am I wrong?

I would raise both a power/dex mag and a mind mag for a FOmar. That way you can equip your character however you like and have the best mag for the situation.

my main character DWAI is accompanied by Madhu (LV 98: DEF_10 POW_40 DEX_38 MIND_10). until i got another mag, Madhu hast to accompany my FOmar http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

No, just two mags. One that has mind and one that has a both power and dex. It's not useful to do a lot of damage if you don't hit very often.
