Regardless, all most dio weapons so far have been 10*. I don't see why would they change it. (By the way, that photoshop recolor is quite noticeable).

At one point all Lambda weapons had been 7-9*, so I'm not seeing your point.

Eventually there will be a Dio 11*. it's just their way of taking an old model and giving it more damage. They occasionally bump up the rarity when they do so, like the Ardillou & Lambda Ardillou being 9*, then the Dio Ardillou being 10*. Same with the Alistin & Lambda Alistin being 8*, then the Dio Alistin being 10*. Then there's the Ares Vis & Lambda Ares Vis being 7*, and the Dio Ares Vis being 9*.

It's just filler for basic performance weapons within a given rarity as higher level enemies are added to the game.
