I prordered Shinovi Versus to support XSEED and localization of new Senran Kagura games (especially the upcoming Estival Versus on PS4!! Eventually they could add the New Wave teams also.) :burger:
(it's kinda like back when I bought both the PS3 and X360 versions of PSU, even though I only played the X360 version online, I still bought the other version to support Phantasy Star on console.)

I'm not into portables (yes, I was crazy to get a 3DS XL, I sold it, but I'm glad I played
Fire Emblem Awakening, Senran Kagura Burst, and Pokemon X. Despite being decent
games, portable gaming is too uncomfortable in my opinion, and I'm not going to buy a Vita
(after the pain trying to enjoy games on PSP and 3DS, I'm not gonna buy another portable),
I'm saving up for PS4, and I already spent over $200 on a new 60hz 32" LED TV, that looks gorgeous, by the way.
The colors and everything are amazing. First time playing on 720p,
entirely better than 480p, it's like a new level of Whopper.) :burger:

[spoiler-box]you may ask, "why buy something if you aren't gonna play it?"
Well fans support franchises one way or another, even if it's on a platform they wouldn't
buy. Plus the LE extras are nice collectibles. I'm glad I preordered, and I read it includes soundtrack CD and a 140 page Shinobi Syllabus (profiles of the characters, gameplay strategies, and illustrations). Who knows, maybe if Vita eventually costs like $50, I'll get one, though I wouldn't play vita as much as I do console every day.[/spoiler-box]

Anyway, so yes, I been a Senran Kagura fan since the news of the very first game on 3DS,
as well as the anime (which I think was 12 episodes, not sure if they added more, but I really
like the characters and action, which Burst explores to greater degree, and Shinovi brings the
series to a more ideal gameplay format. Yes, people will relate it to Dynasty Warriors, but from what I have seen and read,
it's much better than that, especially for the boss battles.
And it's great that Estival Versus looks like it will follow Shinovi Versus's great example for 3D action
and greater selection of unique playable characters.) This really is refreshing ninja action and I don't mind the sexual side of it
since there is a lot of human qualities within the personalities of the characters themselves,
the humor and character relationships are very amusing, and the action is brutally exciting
and stylish. It's kind of like a mix between Sailor Moon, Naruto, Ronin Warriors, Arcana Heart,
DBZ, Dynasty Warriors, and some creative original formulas.
[spoiler-box]it's very amazing how unique each ninja is in Senran Kagura, in lots of ways, especially in the gameplay and how they fight. Each one makes it feel like a different game.[/spoiler-box]

And the writing, at least in Burst, is superb, plus Shinovi has one of the best soundtracks I ever heard that enhances the action and major battles. :)

[spoiler-box]
Senran Kagura really is moving up in the world, it started as a side scrolling arena brawler,
and now Shinovi Versus makes full 3D enviornments and fighting (along with multiplayer,
doubling the character selection, and much more), and Estival Versus will be it's first step
on the main stage with next gen hardware (PS4, it's also coming to Vita also). [/spoiler-box]

If action fans want to find more info, here are some sources I learned more about
the Shinovi characters and gameplay.

It's actually a good game. Just a bit shameless. But it's story mode is quite good and it's a great vita game.

Found some nice sources of info and interview, it's really ok having fanservice alongside great gameplay, fast paced action, unique playable characters and stories.

A game can’t be one-dimensional and based on a single gimmick and hope to succeed in this day and age where user feedback is everywhere on the internet on the day of release. It’s all the other elements together that compose a great overall user experience that keeps the fans coming back and the series expanding onto various platforms.

I enjoyed the side-scrolling aspect of Burst, but the way it’s set up makes you approach battles from a fixed distance. In SHINOVI VERSUS, you’re the center of the action and can move freely, so there’s a stronger sense of control and varied movement. It adds a whole new level of strategy to battle, too; with twenty playable characters in an environment like this, you now have to take the direction and range of your attacks and your enemies’ attacks into account more often.

I think most will start the game for the fast-paced action or the fanservice and finish it pleasantly surprised by how much they’ve come to like certain characters or certain parts of the story.

The visual novels absolutely make a return in SHINOVI VERSUS, and are my favorite parts! I think a game like this greatly benefits from these stories and is welcomed by the fanbase due to how unexpected it is. It’s kind of like playing a cute looking game that suddenly turns to gross horror, or something. The unexpectedness of it makes it stand out and makes you appreciate it a lot more because you think,
“Ah, this team is taking its world and characters a lot more seriously than I thought they would.”

The novels make you see that they aren’t just cool designs, but actual people. And the world itself isn’t just a neat background, but you’ll start to see that everything has its history if you look closely enough. And the things that don’t? Surely, that’s just because they wanted to save it for later.

Having both silliness and depth in a game makes for a nice balance, I think. Too much of a serious story will leave you feeling like the drama is forced, but SHINOVI VERSUS found the right amount to keep you wanting more between the fanservice, fun and action.

I see a wall of text and lots of needless babble.

So are you being paid to promote this?

Pretty much that. I'm sure there's probably good information, but it's projectile vomited everywhere so badly that your dog wouldn't eat it if you begged him to.

Ikaruga has me unleashing my inner Vergil. XD

This game got no shame you power up by blowing your clothes off as a stance. Too good. Ignore Saner's trolliness and give this game a show.

You don't know me either. But at least you understand the doesn't get paid and enthusiasm parts.
These days people can't tell an enthusiastic benevolent gamer from a marketer/salesperson.

There's enthusiasm, but that went over the top.

A few references is nice and all, but it really looked like a marketing ploy.
