Sinow Spigells

I am on the central control level but having trouble getting to the griffin due to the sinow spigells. I manage to hit them a few times but then they disarm me so I have to leave the room to re equip my weapon and then they heal all the damage I did. What do you recommend? (I am a level 22 hunwearl)

Keep moving, attack with range weapons and level up to increase your hit points and defense. They are one of the more annoying enemies in the game, Also try to have your quick menu on the weapons so you can re-equip quickly and be persistant. Also Jellen and Zalure them helps.

how do you set up quick menu on the GC?

Hold R and then press Y. Just hit the X button to switch between Items, Techs/Traps and Equippable weapons.

Maybe just hit them with a handgun from a distance and melee when they get close. You'll get used to switching quick with the quick menu the more you use it.

The Hunewearl is a decent enough class when you get the hang of it.
