I understand that using 3 items to add abilites like stigma, abilityIII, and Vinculum leaves you with a 50% success rate.

If I increase the number of items to 4, will the success rate go up from 50%?

Item success rate is the same.
This update only increase the max number of item used, and also allow you to use item with more slots.

So say the main item is 3s, you can use 3s, 4s, 5s, etc.

Does anyone know if the same item bonus applies for more than 3 items?

Nope

Anything affixing wise appears to remain the same from 3+ items onwards

6 souls is still 80%
6 of the same items is still a 15% boost
etc etc

If you decide to use, say, 3 fodders instead of 2, do all 3 have to match the main thing you're affixing to get the boost, or do only two of the fodders have to be the same?

This new feature is for not having to make so many fodders if any at all. So the fodder market bubble can collapse at any moment.

^It's not gonna collapse anytime soon unless they add something similar to Knight Gear that drops attacksIII like it does with spirita/staminaIII. The basic unit III/x attack 4s+ went up in price. Vin, ability mix and Mod seem to be the ones that are benefiting the most from this new affix system but not many people know what to do with them so the price is not changing much atm.

This is hugely disappointing.
I see the benefits but I thought affixing vinc/stigma/etc would become at least a tad reliable.

Well, at least my fodders sell like mad, I made over a mil with 2s Quartz weapons yesterday.

Just tried to affix something cheap and saw the affixing price jump from 40k to 300k just from using 3 fodder.
Screw that.

Poor people? You thought you could escape cost by spreading abilities out ehh?

The way I see it, if it's 40k an attempt, the fodder is only around 3k, and the success rate doesn't even go up...
I may as well try 7-8 times instead of having to pay 300k for one attempt that'll probably fail anyway.

Eh, imo, it's a cheaper method than having to find affix fodder, or make affix fodder. It's nice I can put 3 quartz souls into the pool, another weapon being power iii, and another being spirita iii, and I'd have a decent chance to affix it all on a weapon rather than how it was before.

It depends what it is you're affixing, I take it 12*+ cost 1M+? I'd check but still 0 luck getting one so far.

So even more pointless than I thought.

Well, I guess it's my own fault for expecting sega to show some sense.
Cause it's still best to let others do your work and buy the stuff for cheap. Unless you don't have premium.

Case in point, I recently bought a +40 / 50 element 6s Sukei Suzumi with 115 satk and 8pp for only 12.6 mil.
I spent 8 mil just getting my bio boots to +20 with 3s and no boost used.

The only thing that really changed is fodder is super expensive now and I make millions selling 2s stuff.

But what am I gonna do with my 845 cubes besides never doing ult with a 250% drop boost?

how to make 80% modulator

Rakurai
Nov 21, 2014, 01:09 AM
Three Modulator items = 80% success rate

For a question of my own, does using more then two fodders increase the chance of adding an extra slot any?

Netro Shine
Nov 21, 2014, 01:13 AM
I believe I tested that out and the answer is no, but my memory is foggy. You can always try affixing with 2 fodder, go to the next screen and check the success rate, then back up and test it with 3 fodders using cheap junk off the visiophone.

Rakurai
Nov 21, 2014, 02:16 PM
Well, that's lame.

On a side note, all of the new UQ souls boost Mutation, Vinculum, Modulator, and Stigma transfer rates instead of what you'd expect them to.

I take back whatever I said about the new affix system. It certainly has its uses.
Dudu only charged me around 350k to apply 5 slots on my Psycho Wand using ~4 shop-bought random fodder at a success rate of 90% across the board (with +30%).
