offline mode:mid quest saves ... possible ?

am i missing something with mid quest saves ? do i need to save in a special manner or is it just not possible ? it seems like everything resets as far as the quest goes when i load again .

You can't save mid-anything. You save and exit, and when you go back in, it only saves at certain points(such as opening new areas, quests fully completed, etc).

Which isn't that bad, just adds more game play into it. That, and it has to be done because of the mechanics of online and offline gameplay.
